Jewelry catches Tetra's eyes, just like the old days when he was... Anyway, he takes the opportunity to approach the area where jewelry and statuettes are displayed. He makes himself visible to the curator as he looks around the display, as if examining them in detail. "Interesting necklace... he murmurs loudly.

Zarzucket wears a nicely pressed tuxedo. He moves towards Odesse. "Evening... I've heard that you work in old artifacts. I myself am a scholar. Zarzucket here He holds out his hand. "Of the Starfinder society"
Tarrakk |
Tarrakk continues his conversation with Captain Sandel.
"Indeed. You have a fine collection of weapons here. I am often sent to explore new areas, and that means clearing out any hostile life forms. Different opponents need different weapons."
Profession Wilderness Guide: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Tarrakk
Captain Sandel smiles approvingly Yes, new assignments bring great opportunities, don't they? I've recently been promoted to a new station in the Vast. It should be one that you starfinders are familiar with. Who know, we might runs into eachother.
Influence, success!

Tetra
Mister Park makes a beeline for Zovi's display case Ah, Tetra, it's you again. This is a collection of the finest artifacts our museum has on offer. Quite dazzling, isn't it? I'm sure this will leave a good impression on tonight's guests.
You can influence Zovi with knowledge of history (Culture) or social influence (Diplomacy)
---
Zarzucket
Odesse looks a bit... well... tired maybe? Hello she croaks as Zarzucket approaches I'm Odesse Nis. I... ehh... this is a collection of Deepwater Prime, these are she speaks and looks on the labels in the display case Caravolos and Varretian... eh... artefacts, and these are... While Odesse is reading the labels, she repeatedly touches her head, as if something is ailing her. She's clearly out of her depth here, having been sent by her employer to present the artefacts without knowing too much about them.
Zarzucket reads far quicker than Odesse, and figures out the display case contains material from over a dozen aquatic and semi-aquatic cultures, including Caravolos and Varretian, and two terrestrial cultures, including Erezitan and Ulumbian. Of particular note are several belongings carved from a delicate gray-green stone, which the placards identify as malachite.

George 09-23 decides to help out the First Seeker field questions from the assembled guests. He approaches with a slight nod of the head and a smile.
"Perhaps I can help out here."
Greiki Muginn |
Greiki shows up to the gala in a form fitting tuxedo suit, plain in most aspects until one inspects the material closer. It is a fine mesh of metals that chime and twinkle quietly as he strides about.
---
While the others move about, Greiki is drawn in by the conversations of linguistics near Muhali. He treads slowly over to introduce himself when a break in exhibition presents.
"Is this Professor Muhali? When I heard you were exhibiting different languages I was enthralled. My name is Greiki Muginn, Starfinder and enthusiast of spoken languages."
Tetra Park |
"Eheh, yes. It is good to see you here. Nice pieces of jewelry. I mean artifacts, yes." Tetra stutters. He then shares what he knows about these artifacts that might impress more of the guests of the museum.

George
Ah, George 09-23! Ehu exclaims when George appears on the scene See, this is one of the Starfinders I was just talking about. George here is our local expert in the sciences. I'm sure you have questions for him as well!
You're lucky: any skill check you can justify works here
---
Greiki
The same, indeed Muhali responds a fellow connoisseur of the spoken form. I suspect you will be most enthralled by the exhibits on display here.
Muhali’s display showcases a variety of texts, from a carved stone stele to fragile scrolls, coupled with a holographic display showcasing linguistic similarities and differences over time and space.
To impress Muhali display knowledge of linguistics (Culture) or spot similarities within the showcased texts (Perception), or showcase your own language skills. This may be a bit challenging for a blind Vlaka, but I'll allow creative solutions

While the group is busy hob-nobbing with the scientists and exhibitors...
You can still make your checks, just posting the next bit
Scraper?! he halfling snorts with just a bit too much volume Where did you learn that nonsense. This is clearly a biface.
Whispering from the crowd quickly tells you that this halfling is professor Hemford, a visiting professor. Although he is a leader in his field, he's clearly lost his tact while staring into his drinking cup. Poor Odesse looks completely overwhelmed and starts arguing Well... given the origin and intended use...
Use? Pfflrrrt Hemford blows a raspberry, proper academically sound terminology should be used. It is not clear whether blowing a raspberry is part of that terminology.
The situation looks be embarrassing for both. Perhaps some astute bystanders can help diffuse the situation?
You'd need to distract the halfling (Bluff), or calm/quiet him (Diplomacy/Intimidate), and then somehow help out Odesse (Culture, Profession, or Bluff/Diplomacy)
George 09-23 |
George 09-23 answers a rather dry question about how modern technology is used to scan and categorise the finds. He mentions two relevant computer algorithms in the simplest terms possible.
Computers: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
If George fails the skill check by 1 then he can retroactively activate his Aeon stone to achieve a 20 on the skill check
DM Kludde |
Impressive, George Ehu says after George finishes his explanation on scanning algorithms, I'm sure you'll have many good interactions with our other guests. The first seeker then hands a package to George and says I'm sure you'll find good use for this.

"Do you have more samples you can play? Reading isn't my strong suit. I haven't learned many languages to fluency but the intonations can often speak volumes on their own." Greiki says excited to hear more.
Tetra Park |
"Yes, I agree, they are beautiful." he agrees with Zovi, but now he is uncomfortable after the first failed attempt of impressing her.
"But I think they would be prettier if we can show them now just here, but to the masses, like ordinary people, not just with these educated guests and professionals here" Tetra tries to not get distracted even with his words.
Culture: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
DM Kludde |
Tarrakk does fabulous work dissipating the tension in the crowd, and soon after, everybody is focused again on their tiny bites and sparkly drinks, giving the starfinders more time to mingle with the researchers.
---
Greiki (round 1)
Just before the drunk professor made his presence known, Greiki was talking to professor Muhali. The arrangement of words and the elegance of written script must be lost on the blind, Muhali says ponderously, then carefully takes out a stone tablet. Perhaps you can experience this. It is an ancient text that has taught us much about our predecessors here in Qabarat. Notice the sharper corners as the text become more proscriptive? Almost as if the author was conveying emotion in his carving style.
The university is planning a new dig under Qabarat. Who know what secrets we might unlock?
Influence: success!

"This experience will remain with me! To experience language in a way I never expected, the value of these pieces of conveying the messages. The luxuries of text-to-speech has nearly robbed me of something. Thank you, thank you!" he says with a courteous bow before he looks to his companions to see how things are going.
He hears Tetra conversing with Zovi and decides to return the kindness of the curators earlier advice with conversation.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
"It sounds like Tetra has been regaling you with the importance of these displays for everyone. You deserve some thanks for even making that a possibility. Not just your displays but the other roles you fulfil here. I hope this is only the beginning for our work with the museum!"

Zarzucket
Zarzucket realises Odesse is having a bad headache, and the gnome himself isn't feeling too great either. There's something about being close to that display case that seems to induce a splitting migraine.

As Tarrakk is engaging with Jeletal, he is disturbed with a shove. When he looks around, he sees two rowdy ysoki toddlers playing about in a rowdy fashion. They run after each other, every now and then forming a furry ball of toddler doom. An exasperated ysoki grandmother leans on her walking stick, trying to get some discipline into the two toddlers Avelen! Thester! Come here immediately! This gallery is not for playing! You'll knock something over.
The toddler's playful but destructive ambition seems to go a bit further than knocking something over. At this rate, they look to be on track for knocking everything over. Already, a few statues are wobbling on their plinths, and it's only a matter of time before a display case takes a hit.
Easy acrobatics, medium athletics or harder sleight of hand check to prevent damage. I need a check from every character, and half of you to pass for a success.
Tetra Park |
Noticing the disorder that might lead to catastrophe, Tetra quickly makes his way to follow the rowdy toddlers, getting past the guests and displays. "Hey, kids! Don't go there. You might topple that statue, or that equilibrium ball in its pedestal or something!" he calls them out of their behavior.

It was fortunate that day that we had a team with such quick reflexes. Who knows what damage these little toddlers would have done if Greiki, Tarrakk, George and Tetra hadn't be so quick on their feet, and so agile in catching the artefacts that were toppling over. Would we still have been able to gaze at the marvellous sight of the Qabarat shell vase? The atian diadem? Or the marbles of Caravolos for that matter. No, if the starfinders hadn't been there, at the right place, at the right time, some precious artefacts would have been lost history forever!
--- Unknown starfinder, starfinder chronicles
The reaction of the group to the lightning-quick toddlers is exemplary, and without breaking anything, they manage to corner the two ysoki fledglings and round them up. Grandmother is very pleased Thank you very much, kind sirs. she says with a frail voice, before turning to her grandchildren Avalene, Thester, you must apologise. What do you say now?
Sorry Avalene says, followed by a Sowwy of Thester.
Aaaawwww.

"She is hard to impress, you know." he whispers at Zarzucket before gnome makes his impression on her. He watches from the distance if the attempt would also be futile.
DM Kludde |
George
Jeletal responds well to George's spiritual remarks, and says I see you are aware of the deeper meaning behind things. Each of these objects tells its own story. Here, feel this object, the half-elf says as he hold up a lightweight rod-like object this used to be a dancing stick, a prop used in stage performances. Can you feel the emotion embedded in this object? The anxious anticipation of the performance? The feeling of satisfaction when the applause hits? All of this is embedded in this object, and this object's story. We are just here to tell it.

Are you enjoying this evening? I truly enjoy events like these. You know, in my studies I have seen many styles of works of art. Do you know the colorful styles clothing I have seen in my studies? It's a bit of a hobby of mine. I hope hold a fashion show showcasing replicas of ancient Castrovellian attire during an upcoming textile exhibit - I can get you an invitation for the show, if you'd want to attend...

Vitellus Korpopolis for Absalom Station News Network! a loud reporter barges in with lights brightly flashing, and camera already rolling We are here at the Grand Museum of Qabarat, where a gala opening is held.
Without hesitation, the reporter moves up to the Starfinder group huddled around Zovi and continues We are joined by agents from the Starfinder Society. Agents, what is the official statement of the Society on this exhibition?
While official statementing is still a bit above your pay grade, you can still give it a shot with a diplomacy check. There's a short amount of time to recover from the shock of being asked to appear on intergalactic news. Soon after, the familiar shape of the nelentu Minqalli, who is for some reason slinking around the exhibit, looking over their shoulder as if they are concerned about being spotted...

Greiki will approach our nelentu friend, "Minqalli, is everything okay? Your steps are less exuberant than before."

Eek! Minqalli lets out a little squeak when Greiki approaches them Don't tell anyone I am here they plead, Amyik banned me from the gala after I... eh... you know... you were there, I suppose. Please don't rat me out to her, I really wanted to see the gala...
