Hello, welcome all! Please fill in these and these links (or find them up top) so I can easily reference your stats and the like if I need them.
Standard PbP procedure applies: I expect a post per weekday, less in the weekends. I'll bot you if you haven't responded after 24-ish hours. Also let me know in advance if you'll be unavailable for a few days, so I can take that into account.
My tempo tends to be rather fast, so please tell me to slow down if I'm rushing you. I also live in Europe, so expect me to update on odd hours if you're on another continent.
Since this is a repeatable, please let me know which encounters you've already done so I can hopefully pick something fresh. You can PM me or put it in spoiler tags, whichever you prefer.
Also, like I said, I'm assuming tier 3-4 since that's the highest character Apoc Golem has. Try to pick a character in that range if possible.

I'm on the same side of the planet as Betel. 3 glyphs to share.

Apoc Golem reporting with Bina Sevencloaks, wielder of short swords and weaponized dancing! I think I filled out the macro sheet correctly? Never used one before so I apologize if it's wonky. Let me know and I'll fix it.
Also Hi GM Kwinten! It's Fuìn! I can't believe I only just realized you're running this. At least I know I'm in good hands! ^_^

oh and GM, please tell Thrass that Kat says hi! :)

Welcome, all! There's a lot of familiar faces, I see. Looking forward to playing with you all again. :) Five people have dotted in, so I'm still waiting on one more.
Yakuthiel/Ira Kroll, I don't recognise your name from the Cottonseed signups. Are you either Dax Thura or Jason Rodarte (though I think the latter wants to use Graeson)? I reserved spots for them, I'm sorry.
Also, I see at least six glyphs, so everyone gets to start with two Hero Points.
Thank you to everyone who has filled in the macro sheet. One tip: if you filled in a skill, don't forget to check the "Send to GM?" box, so I have an overview of all the skills covered. Don't worry, I fixed that for the ones who accidentally left those out.
I'll start the gameplay once I have six character introductions.

GM Kwinten |

Depends on your play style. Generally they're good if you depend on different weapon types, rather than hit with the same weapon twice. Sharing the +1 item bonus is nice, but it really becomes a must when you add Striking. But I don't think there's much to save up for at this level anyway, so you might as well buy it.
Also, if I did math right, we should be at 17 Challenge Points, so still low tier.

I might be without internet service over the weekend. So if I'm quiet, that's why.

GM Kwinten |

I originally wanted you to tell a different kind of story, then had a look at your skills, and saw that this one was basically the only one more than two people could participate in. Maybe I should have skipped this challenge altogether, but I like how it flowed nicely from the introduction.
Also, question for you: you can do an optional harder challenge as a "final boss" of some kind. Would you be interested in doing that, or would you rather have a regular challenge. They are not "hard mode" or super duper challenging, just a bit harder than a regular encounter. This will need to be unanimous, if one person doesn't want to, then we do a regular encounter.
Be warned though, I took a look at your skills and it doesn't seem like you have anyone trained in Medicine, so healing might be difficult.

![]() |

I'm down for a tough fight! Livin' on the edge, baby!
Also, I know Perform isn't one of the listed skills here, but would Perform (dance) work here, since it's a physical skill like the listed Lores?

![]() |

GM, unrelated to this game -- but how's the Abomination Vaults coming along?

GM Kwinten |

Oh yeah, we're going great. We're about to finish the first book. We lost another character because that player was GMing the same campaign for his friends and he felt like both playing and GMing the same adventure spoiled his enjoyment as a PC. But we picked up another player and we're going strong. Kka still crits like a crazy person and Lough actually is a crazy person, so everything goes well, I'd say. :)
Bina, it doesn't matter anymore, but yes, Perform certainly is possible. I forgot to mention, but Deception and Perform are always available, regardless of which variant you choose.
Looking back at it, I like how I accidentally did this. Selecting three "main speakers" takes a while, especially in PbP, and this way everyone got to participate and do some RP. :)

[b]Yeah. I had fun figuring out Betel's first foray into 'adventuring' - pre Pathfinder Society.
Having a library in a town near a river in a flood plain proved not to be the best idea, especially when an extreme weather event blew in :)

I'm the "new player" in the AV game! *waves* ^_^
I was bummed to see Giyozara go, I liked the character, but I totally understand why they bowed out.
Bina really is just pure distilled Me Rolls. I've only ever played her on the boards, and while I roll badly all the time, it seems to be exacerbated on the boards for some reason. Fuìn has actually been rolling shockingly well. Bina's performance is waaaay more on-brand for me. XD

I was one of the original players. I had to bow out because I couldn't keep up -- I'd go to bed all caught up and I'd wake up with 20+ posts on the thread!
And I do miss Kka's "ark ark!" :)

I would like to use Scout's warning
You visually or audibly warn your allies of danger, granting them each a +1 circumstance bonus to their initiative rolls. Depending on whether you use gestures or call out, this action gains either the visual or auditory trait, respectively.
This is an ability that should be posted in your Macros!

GM Kwinten |

I am not seeing my token on the map.
You did not provide a picture or fill in the macros I requested, so I copied the picture from your avatar. Or is it that you can't see the map properly? I remember you said you had vision problems. Should I do something to accommodate you?
Also, as rainzax said, abilities like those would be nice to know beforehand. I looked at the initiative order and I don't think it would've mattered for this combat, but I'll keep it in mind for next time.

![]() |

Cell G9 where it says “Your Exploration Here” would be a good place to do that.
That is how GM rolls initiative by using that cell, so posting your PC’s initiative abilities would catch their eye!

GM Kwinten |

This sheet is still available for you. Just list everything you're trained in (or better), so I can roll secret checks if necessary. Thanks!

GM Kwinten |

The weird thing about the Scatter tag is that is specifically states:
This weapon fires a cluster of pellets in a wide spray. Scatter always has an area listed with it, indicating the radius of the spray. On a hit, the primary target of attacks with a scatter weapon take the listed damage, and the target and all other creatures within the listed radius around it take 1 point of splash damage per weapon damage die.
Implying that on a miss you don't even take scatter damage. Which seems weird, but I'll take it, otherwise I would've knocked Graeyson out.

GM Kwinten |

The equipment is available to use for other characters to use, if they feel comfortable using a fallen comrade's gear.
Note that you can buy a Raise Dead with achievement points, so should you die in the middle of a scenario, you can continue the scenario if you want to. Otherwise, the character is marked as permanently dead and you can't play them anymore.

GM Kwinten |

You have no method of healing yourself, other than healing potions. I looked up Spellcasting costs. I think that's the most cost-effective way to heal people.
Also, as I said before, the smith offered you any +1 Striking weapon of your choice, and it's still up for grabs.

![]() |

This is going to be a rough game folks.
My take on it is that we will have to pretty much live without in-combat healing (risky!), and folks will have to pay gold for their own out-of-combat healing, per the Spellcasting Costs linked by GM above.
If we survive, maybe the lesson we learn is to allocate to every character (especially those in the 3-6 range) the means to heal themselves independently at a bare minimum. Woopsy!
=)

GM Kwinten |

Yeah, normally when you have 6 characters, you tend to cover a decent range of skills. But now nearly everyone signed up with a martially-inclined character (except for Betel), and no one has healing capabilities. Often you'd have a Cleric or Champion who can do some (nearly) free healing, or someone with Medicine, but this time you have neither, so it's gonna be improvising time.
I mean, not everyone HAS to have a way to heal themselves, but Healer's Gloves are a good item I get on practically all my characters who don't have Medicine or access to Heal spells.

![]() |

If nobody will take the striking weapon, I'll take it.
Mik-Mek also has a Pearly White Spindle Aeon Stone, which heals 1 hp/minute so anything post combat is ok unless he's dying...

![]() |

GM,
How much time do we have after this challenge before the next? (I suspect this resource, in addition to gold, will become the limiting reagent for this scenario...)
Also, how much time would, say, purchasing a single spellcasting (for healing) involve? What about two spells, three spells, etc?

GM Kwinten |

Oh, I'd missed that Graeyson has Medicine. Though indeed, without supporting feats, there's a one-hour interval in between healing the same person. Let's say you have about five hours between now and the next combat.
Finding a spellcaster will be about half an hour. They can cast as many spells as you want, as long as you have the gold.
EDIT: Just saw the Gameplay thread just now. Let's make it six hours, so Graeyson has healed 22 HP.

![]() |

Happy 4th!
@Betel, if Bina's flirtiness is at all uncomfortable please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll dial it back. I don't want to cross any boundaries!

Was scouts warning applied>

There are no more sheets available to fill out so what should I do?
And is there a list of what should be listed in Macros? This is not something I would think to add.

...
Do you see the "Macros sheet" link in the Campaign Header? Click that and fill in Cell G9 (on your same character, not a new one) where it says “Your Exploration Here”
=)

GM Kwinten |

As I said in >THIS POST<, there is still an empty sheet available >HERE.<
In truth, I forgot to apply Scout's Warning, but I just checked, it's a circumstance bonus, which does not stack with the circumstance bonus from Bina's Scout exploration activity.
