Nevertheless, the distraction made by the others are enough to get Azam's attention. When he picks up the instrument, he finds it broken. He loses his temper and calls someone that can bring him a replacement oud. "Replace my oud, quick! Why did you even bring it broken?" he chastises the servant.
Azam is momentarily distracted from the festivities when someone in the crowd shouts they’ve spotted Avisha’s entourage, and her arrival is imminent. "Make it quick, I'll meet our very important guest today." he says and stands while fixing his hair.
With enough diversion, Shayla quickly proceeds to replace the gift that Azam will be giving to Avisha. In the chest, she finds a beautifully ornate
dagger with crystals and gems in the pommel, fashioned in the old Qadiran style as a gift for Avisha’s recent inclusion in the Satrapian Guard.
Once Shayla replaces the gift and exits her way out, Avisha arrives in her immaculate uniform. Azam approaches her, welcoming her and doing his best to hide any chaos they may have caused. He promptly offers the ornate chest to her, stating he hopes he captured her true nature perfectly. Seeing the toy soldier in their oversized uniform, Avisha furiously demands an immediate end to the festivities.
----------
Having successfully done the first and second tasks, locating the docks is simple, thanks to the salty breeze guiding them toward the water for their last task.
| GM Frost |
The group arrives at the docks and finds that dozens of ships are moored along the sprawling docks of Sedeq. A warm sea breeze fills the air with its salty bite as many deckhands move crates and people off the ships. An undine man with blue hair tends to a similarly colored vessel sporting the symbol of the Dawnflower. As he whistles, his finned ears move gently, giving the impression of dancing along with the melody.
| GM Frost |
"I am." he replies to Flory. "How may I help you?"
Princess Clover
|
"Excuse me, Clover, agent of the Pathfinder Society. We're also looking for someone called Tadrun--do you know of him?"
| GM Frost |
Zoha looks around before he answers them. "Are you here to help?" Zoha’s face darkens as he points at the ship moored far from the harbor. "There, in Swift Huntress, you'll find Tadrun, a villain in the truest sense,” he says. “The Iron Ring arrived a couple of days ago to sell captives from their latest sea battle, but I gather their ship took a beating during the fight. They have been trying to keep it afloat ever since. Sadly, it seems they are succeeding.” He pauses and considers something. "I will bring you there if you help me rescue my friend Ganthur. He helps me relocate freed captives to safer shores. But he is late, and I suspect he is captured by the Iron Ring. So would you help me? But wait, how would I know I can trust you? How do you even know about Tadrun and his slaves there?"
Princess Clover
|
"Probably the same way that we know we can trust you. We were told to look for you by someone named Safa; do you know them?
"We seek to have words--" Clover punctuates her statement by placing a hand on her weapon "--with this Tadrun. We're actually being coerced, but if that's what he's been up to I feel a lot better about the task. And we'll throw in the rescue of any and all captives for free, just for having the opportunity to do so."
A thought. "Actually, getting prisoners away from a ship is a dilemma. But it sounds like you're in the business--is your boat available for that job as well?"
| GM Frost |
Zoha looks puzzled. “Safa? I don’t think I do. I have a good memory for people, and that doesn’t ring a bell. Maybe I helped a family member or friend? In my work, word of mouth tends to go far and wide,” he replies.
"Tadrun is all yours, and freeing the prisoners would be better. And also my friend Ganthur. If you are ready, follow me, I have a boat." he motions them to follow him.
Following him, the undine uses his skills as a smuggler and his connection to the sea to help them approach the vessel undetected. He leads them to the ship, summoning a thin fog to protect their approach while letting his small vessel glide silently across the water to the port side of the Swift Huntress.
As they approach the Swift Huntress, two large masts tower over the empty deck. The sails are furled, suggesting the ship is not planning to leave these waters anytime soon. They can use a rope ladder to reach the top deck with little difficulty. To the north, nestled under the poop deck, stands the door to the captain’s quarters. A deep guttural voice barks orders from the lower decks (encircled in Red on the MAP).
"I will wait for you over there." Zoha tells them before he leaves with his boat.

Clumsy shouldn't affect Amiri's attack--it isn't Dex-based.
Clover smiles reassuringly at the captives and holds a finger to her painted lips. She draws out her warhammer and her mirror, the broken chain wrapped around its handle.
She steps into the room and holds up her mirror so that the cruel hobgoblin is forced to confront his own face. "Villain!" she says, "You capture and bind innocents. This chain that would have bound is broken, the tyrant's greatest fear. It is the freed will of your captives that I call upon to guide me!"
And then she bashes him with a hammer for punctuation.

* Exploit Vulnerability Esoteric Lore: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18. That's against a standard DC of Red's level, so if he's level 3 or lower Clover succeeds and learns his highest weakness (which he probably doesn't have since he's a humanoid), her attacks trigger that weakness even though they're probably not the right damage type, and if he doesn't have a weakness she instead gives him weakness 3 to her Strikes. If he's level 4-10 she fails but can still create a Personal Antithesis for weakness 3 to her Strikes. If he's level 11 or higher she critically fails bu that's probably the least of our problems.
* Strike Warhammer: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22 for bludgeoning: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 + weakness (probably 3).

I just realized why Amiri's character sheet has +6 mod for that attack, I thought it was 7 minus 1 from Clumsy. Just found that she has STR +4 and DEX +3 which is why she has +6 mod for that attack. Thanks for that.[/ooc]

Thank you, GM sometimes forgets.
Princess Clover gets into the room as well, she also learns Red has no weakness that she can exploit. Nevertheless, she has more tricks up in her sleeves. Her hammer strikes bonks into Red's head. Red takes 16 total damage. Shayla joins them and throws knife at Vaggas, ending him. Redirecting your other Strike, so as to not waste it. She also throws another at Blue which also hits.
Blue raises his hands up, surrendering. "I surrender! Just don't hurt me!"
COMBAT OVER! WELL DONE!
Everyone is in full health.
After they defeat them with the last one surrendering, the captives thank them and tell them about a crate in steerage marked with the seal of the Andoren navy containing valuable supplies. The crate’s sturdy and airtight construction protected its contents from being spoiled by the water. The crate contains a mixture of trade goods worth 5 gp and weighs 2 bulk.
"Thank you for saving us! Wait, are you here to save us or imprison us as well?" the prisoner asks. Feeling that they are here to rescue them, "There are others in the other room." they point out the area encircled in Red on the Map.
Princess Clover
|
"You're free," Clover answers, "Though you may want to keep bailing until we have the other prisoners loose. But don't wear yourselves out; I suspect you've no objection to the so sinking, we just want to make sure it's not too quick." She points at the fire with her warhammer. "Does more prisoners mean more pirates?"
| GM Frost |
"Just more captives. I overheard that the rest of this ship’s crew secure supplies in Sedeq to repair the ship. Due to the ship’s damage, Tadrun, this ship's captain ordered us to be moved to this quarter and chained in groups of four. The rest of us are resting after a long shift bailing water on the other quarter. Follow me. Let's be quiet. The room of the captain pirate is on the upper deck though. You should deal with him first if you want every one of us out here."
The prisoner instructs the others to keep watch of Blue after he knocks it down in the head to become unconscious with his shackles and keep bailing out the water until they can have a chance to get out of the ship, he assures them. He then leads the Pathfinders quietly to the other quarters where the other prisoners are. Half a dozen figures lie in the crew’s hammocks while a few figures lie in a corner, massaging tired muscles and comforting one another. Their movements fill the room with the jingle of chains that bind them to each other. They are greeted by a female human after she hears the tale of the prisoner for helping them. "I am Karija. We were captured when the Iron Ring boarded my ship, the Rose of Sotra, four days prior. Hearing from my fellow here that you wanted to help us escape this ship, I would like my crew to help but we are too tired from bailing out the waters of this sinking ship, and without you, sure that we have no chance to overpower the pirate's crew and make it off the ship without your help."
"Tadrun is probably in his room in the upper deck. I think Gunthar, the dwarf who tried to help us is with him also, imprisoned, though not sure if he is still alive after being caught two days ago. I will just ask you to clear the way so I can lead these people ashore."

After they have defeated the pirates and their captain, they can hear a soft banging on the door from another room. "Is anybody there?" a muffled voice originating from the said room exclaims.

Clover eyes the door, but doesn't immediately approach. "I don't suppose any of you are skilled with medicine or healing magic? I have a scroll, but only one and Amiri is hurt too."
Frowning, she runs a hand over the tears in her skirt. It's exactly the reason most people don't wear such garments in situations like this, but Clover's case is unique. Designed to resemble an iconic "princess," she's not actually wearing the dress at all. It's part of her body, and her armor only covers so much of it.
"Hopefully that's the hostage we're looking for, but it might be a trap..."

A red-haired dwarf with a braided beard is tied to a chair, one of his eyes bruised by recent injuries. "Thank goodness! Wait, are you with Tadrun? It doesn't look like it. I heard the commotion in his room, what happened?" he asks. "And who are you?"
"They are here to help." Karija reveals herself. "I am sorry for what happened to you. They are Pathfinders and are here to help us out. Amiri told me they are going to burn this ship down, but we need everyone to get out." she tells the dwarf as she unravels the ropes that is tying him. "He is Gunthar. We can leave now but I think the cook of this ship is also here across that cabins." she faces the Pathfinders and points at the rooms.

Pungent spices and the smell of stew fill the sweltering air originating from the room that has door open.
Flory finds that perched on a three-legged stool, an oblivious goblin stirs an iron cauldron twice his size with a large wooden spoon. He pulls a small vial from the bandolier draped across his chest and shatters it at the base of the cauldron, cackling as the flames grow and burn hotter. Looking outside, he finds Flory. "Oh, hello there, miss. What can I do for you? I think I heard fighting from the captain's office, but nah. Not my tea." he tells the witch. "Nar, by the way, this ship's cook for more than a year, if you would like to know that."
"You like what I am cooking? Stew." he scoops some and offers Flory to taste.
