*sighs* I have no idea what you are. What are you please creature-san?

While in the middle of changing rooms, Ashun nods to Shaine, "Do you randomize the portals or are they already set?" but leaves before getting the answer.
When he enters the portal, the changeling is noticeably amazed by the room, taking mental notes of the image.
Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
"This is amazing, I have not seen anything like this in the past.", and bows slightly to the creature in the center, waiting for them to answer Konbu.

Kreighton Shaine smiles at Ashun. He's about to answer but Ashun disappears into the portal.

Neither Konbu nor Ashun recognize the creature. It also appears uninterested in you. "I am a creature that needs to get back to work. Are you here for my amulet?"

"Yes, we are. Is there anything we need to do?"

Axis Lore: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8

Bee just looks at the thing. "This one is as foreign than the last."

Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Bitty is grateful for the religious teachings that Grandma Beryl Blue gave her.

"Oh, you're an arbiter aeon!" Bitty says. "So you would like to get back to work, and we would like you to go back to work. But both you and we need to do our parts in this amulet challenge first."

Bitty pauses. "I'm Bitty, by the way. And this is Egg, and all my friends! Tell me... If you let us have the amulet, will that get you back to work faster?"

The orc looks at the small creature amused by the situation. Getting some amulets instead of killing it simply. It's a new way of life in fact. They should try the same the next time they meet a vrock. On a misunderstanding it can work. Well a serious misunderstanding of course.

Whistling low, Cath bows towards the aeon, "I am Cath, and these are my allies and friends. Bitty and I, as well as the others, would like to have the amulet. How may we help you, as so we could possibly have the amulet in return for our services?"

"Reading mother's books has helped! And here I thought I wouldn't learn reading from her notes from her youth!"

The creature appears to sigh, as if relieved to finally be free of this game.

"My contract with Shaine is that I cannot just hand over the amulet."

The above are suggestions. Feel free to come up with a plan

Oh and not to ignore your introductions -- it's simply not interested in you at all... :)

Bitty turns to the others and whispers. "Um... Grandma Beryl taught me what she called 'the importance of well-rounded education.'" She thinks a moment. "Should I just pick its pocket while one of you distracts it?"

"Beg, barter, or steal as the saying goes. Since beg didn't work, I guess we try one of the other two. Anyone have something to barter with? If not..." Bee shrugs and gestures to Bitty in silent approval of her suggestion.

"I am not a fan, but it does not seem the arbiter will give in. So... someone distracts him and the other person takes it? Or we could just grab and run." and he draws a small glyph that plops into existance a fake copy of the amulet, "Well, just in case the thief needs to put something else in place. I can also enhance both of them in case it is needed." as he draws the familiar guidance sigil in the air, but without casting it.

Thievery plus Guidance: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 1 = 24

As her friends distract the Arbiter, Bitty picks its pocket. Then she waves and tells it, "We're going to leave you alone now. Um... Nice meeting you!" Then she nonchalantly walks towards the portals.

The orc laughs in himself. These people are funny. Full of jokes for sure.

Konbu was about to ask about the wording of the contract i.e. was the arbiter allowed to just drop the amulet if asked, when they see Bitty successfully take it.

So they shrug and head back to the portal.

"Is what we did even legal by the trial standpoint?" and if sucessful, Ashun heads back to the portal to talk to Shaine.

Bee follows the others back through the portal and into the main room. He watches, curious to see what Shaine and Ashun say.

Bitty picks the arbiter aeon's pocket, it vanishes as she removes the amulet. You can almost see the relief on its face.

You return to Kreighton Shaine with the amulet. He smiles and gives you the next clue.

"One of our subjects is a protean, a creature of the Maelstrom that thrives on raw entropy. Proteans are interested in acts of both creation and destruction."

"Oh, that is good. They were very corteous to us last time we were there." the changeling smiles slight, and him and his iguana walk into the yellow portal.

Bitty grins at her friends. "Race you all to the Yellow Portal! Hang on, Egg!" Bitty's dragon tail bounces as she races along, bound up with puffs of air.

"WHEE-EE-EE-EE!"

Then she pirouettes and turns to the pretty snake creature. "Hello Dancer! It's me again! Egg wants to know if we may have your amulet, please?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

After getting into the yellow portal, Ashun turns to Bitty, "You are quite energetic today, are you not?" chuckling lightly to himself while waiting for the creature to answer.

"I am! I am loving this game," Bitty confides. "It's only missing dinosaurs, but you and I brought ours, didn't we?"

Konbu bows to the creature. We were told Dancer-san, that your species are interested in acts of both creation and destruction. Would demonstrating either one of those be enough for you to give us the amulet in your care?

Dancer floats lazily. "To get my amulet, I'd like to see something destroyed. Not just broken in half, mind... as in ground to powder. Is that an egg I see there? Are you willing to part with it, like utterly destroy it?"

Konbu looks around to see if there's something around that can be smashed to pieces.

I should warn you Dancer-san, the last person who said that was .... well ,... rather beaten up. Bitty-chan is very protective about Egg-san

Trying to take attention away from the egg comment, "Well..." Ashun picks up the amulet from his pocket that he created last room, since no one used it, and violently throws it on the ground, shattering it and stepping on the pieces to ground them into dust. "Is this enough?"

Prestidigitation says that the object is extremely fragile, so I guess that could work?

Ashun takes what appears to be an amulet that appears to have been purchased from the Grand Bazaar. As he prepares to stomp it to pieces, Dancer stops him.

"Oh my, no. Nothing like that... Something solid. Destroying a fragile thing is too easy. I would suggest that egg you're carrying with you."

Dancer seems oblivious to the fact that Cath's face is growing angry and that Bitty's about to explode...

Konbu looks around to see if there's something around that can be smashed to pieces.

Bitty-chan only??

Bitty cuddles Egg protectively and whispers, "Don't listen to him."

Then she takes a deep breath, remembering that she promised not to fly off the handle. "Egg is my best friend, and we don't smash friends, EVER!"

Before looking around for something else to destroy, she asks Dancer, "Why only destruction? Why can't we create something instead? Still if you want me to smash something, I'll smash something. Or ask Cath to smash something, since she's really strong."

Is there something to smash here, like a pedestal or anything else?

Bee pulls off his pack and grabs the buckler out of it. "I have this. I haven't been using it much. It is nice and solid though."

"Eggs are usually not the most resilient things I know, so I doubt doing any harm to Egg would be satisfying.", he starts searching around his backpack for something, finding nothing interesting, then looking at Bee's buckler, "Bea has unusually strong jaws for an iguana. I could ask him--" and stopping himself, Ashun looks back to the party and asks "Do we have a time limit?"

"Hmm... Well, if you don't have anything that you're willing to part with, I suppose you can destroy one of the busts on the wall."

The bust has hardness 7 and 20hp. We can either hand wave it or if you want, you can roll 1-2 rounds worth of damage. Anything short of a natural 1 will hit (it's not fighting back!)

Konbu was looking out for a loose rock - although ... presumably a bust would do.

"Mmmm, not sure I want to be destroying the Pathfinder's stuff. They might get upset about it. I can part with the buckler." Bee gets a bit of a mischevious grin. "Hey Cath, you know how to use a shield better than I do. Hold this." He holds the buckler out to Cath and pulls out his short sword.

"The busts are there to be destroyed. Kreighton Shaine and I have an agreement... See the runes on the floor? They are to keep the area clean."

"Oh, well in that case..." Bee takes hold of the buckler in both hands and wallops one of the busts with it.

Probably just handwave then since the rolls wouldn't make any difference.

And after several damage rolls of less than 7, it will get tedious :)

After some time, and several power swings by Cath, the bust disintegrates. Dancer lets out a satisfied sigh and vanishes, leaving an amulet behind.

You return to Shaine a second time. He takes the amulet and recites the next clue.

"A devil is in this dungeon, a weak but cunning scion of Hell. Those of her kind love make deals and frequently serve as assistants to unwise spellcasters."

"Oh, that can be fun. I am an unwise spellcaster." showing a jestful smile, he starts walking towards the blue circle, "Let us see if fantasy stereotypes about devil deals are real..."

"Well, that sounds ... ominous," Bee mutters as he follows Ashun through the next portal.

Konbu also steps through Blue.

"Blue is Egg's favorite color!" Bitty says as she leaps through the portal. "Hang on, Egg!"

A statue of a human woman decorates the northwest corner of this chamber, beside a glowing blue pedestal. A creature stares at you, looking impatient.

"So. You finally make it here to my room. Tell me, are you here for my amulet?"

"You are so tiny and cute! Yes, we are here for the amulet. Shaine said creatures like you like making deals, do you want to make a pact? I bet Bea would love a friend! What is your name, little one?" Ashun gets closer to the creature, in a tone as if talking to a kid.

Yes we are. I can tell you wish to leave .. although we really need to ascertain if we have the correct creature. Are you a devil?

"Right... I should have asked that first... I hope it is the right one, if otherwise, than I am really bad at picking colours." sighs and waits for the creature to answer.

When Ashun mentions the amulet, the creature quite literally shoves it in his face. "Here, take it so I can be free of this place!"

He takes the amulet and bows slightly, "Thank you! But it seems like I am indeed really bad with colours." and he turns back to the teleportation circle, walking towards the violet one without showing Shaine the amulet.

The creature vanishes as Ashun takes possession of the amulet. Entering the violet portal, you find yourselves in an empty chamber save for a single stone plinth covered in a purple drape. A creature stands on the plinth, idly toying with the amulet.

"Ah. I wondered how long it would take you to find me. I take you're after this?" it asks, holding up the amulet.
