I signed Tere up, but he's only 8th level (Ftr1/Rog4/Shd3); let me know if you think he'll be out of his depth as a melee combatant. (He fights with a curve blade, and generally goes for flanks or uses his hide in plain sight ability in low-light conditions to stealth and strike.)

Ah, I see you requested our info in the Recruitment thread.

@Tere, I think you will be fine - it looks like we will be going low tier, but if not,
1) it is a Season 1, and
2) Doodle is a pretty solid melee combatant.

Sounds good! Tere has adventured with Doodle before, so he knows something about the gnome's durability, at least. (Doodle got to sit on the <SPOILER REDACTED> during Rebel's Ransom, when the party was trying to figure out the order of the <SPOILER REDACTED>.)

Greetings everyone!

It's been a while since I played Core mode.
But I've got Diviner Wizard who's likely level 8 now - should check chronicles and remove dust from character sheet.

He's last mission was in Hell particulary, so he likely prepared for any real s#&@...

Hmmm...Tere's last three missions were Rebel's Ransom, Bonekeep Part 1, and Bonekeep Part 2. Unless Hell was written by Jason Buhlmann, I think Tere would have preferred it.

ETA: Tere is the only non-caster in the party. He can use shadow illusion once per day, though, so he's kind of a caster. I suppose.

So it looks like we are full!
I knew Core was still popular enough to fill tables.

APL: (8+10+8+11+10+8)/6 = 9.2

"Scenarios in Seasons 0 through 3 were designed for four characters. For these scenarios, if the APL is between subtiers, a party of six or seven characters must play the higher subtier."

So the 10-11 subtier it is. If you are concerned about survivability, consumables are an option.

We will start on March 6. I may get up a post sooner than that to start some RP.

I am not a ruvivalist type, but I will prepare spellist acordingly :)

I checked experience and seems like I am 1 exp away from 9th lvl.

Power of a Wizard in Core that you still may find powerfull speels from a big (non-Core) world in Chronicles... I've got not much yet, so depends on length we may copy copy of spells with other Wizards?

We a lacking of Rogue and it is known that burglar may be necessary.

Although party of spellcasters at highlevels can try to break scenario actually.

Remember, that Diviner may know some things in advance.
Best fight is the one you avoided :)

Yes, you can scribe scrolls from other wizard PCs with their permission. They may have gained access to non-Core spells through Chronicle sheets or through other PCs with such Chronicles.

If anyone interesting in copy magic - Atum would gladly share knowledge. Even spells he usually do not use.

Silver Crusade

Fredreka is a cleric. Travel and Liberation Domains. Turn Undead, with Improved Channel. Pretty bog standard. The most interesting thing about her is her spell-storing armor. Well, that and the +22 Diplomacy.

Sovereign Court

CORE Female Half-Elf Cleric Sarenrae 11 (HP 91/91) AC 22[18] /12[12]/20[16] (CMD 15) (Fort +12[+9], Ref +8[+4], Will +15[+11]) (Init +2) (Perception +17[+12]) Immune Sleep, RezFire/10, +2 Ench 1/7 channels used {airwalk cir v evil } | glory+9 (0/9) used. Fire bolts 0/10 | 1 reroll

Lasaraleen can be a secondary front liner or blaster with fire, depending on party mix.

With two clerics, healing should be more than covered :)

I am glad healing part is covered!
Atum is pretty squishy and does not like Illusions so need some protection or space.
Although he gathers intellegence and predict bad situations in advance.

Atum, how did you get a doru div familiar? AoN doesn't show it as PFS-legal, and the creature description says it's only available to a neutral evil spellcaster. In any case, as I understand the rules for the PFS Core campaign, in the absence of a chronicle that offers it the only legal options for an improved familiar are the ones listed in the core rulebook. So no axiomatic or anarchic creatures, no Cassissian angels, etc.

@Tere - it is enabled by a Chronicle, although Atum cannot tell you which one. I have that Chronicle myself, though declined that boon.

Several things I have doubts about during playin at Core mode. But this one should work. Luckily thats enough to be just true Neutral ins this case.

You should take a look at chronicle sheet from #9-04 The Unseen Inclusion.

Feat - Veshtahz's Favor:
You have convinced the doru Veshtahz to serve you in exchange for the tempting secrets he craves. A neutral spellcaster of at least 7th level may take Veshtahz as a familiar with the Improved Familiar feat. If you make this bond with Veshtahz, you must provide a copy of the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary 3 as if the
improved familiar were available as an Additional Resource. Furthermore, you must spend at least 3 skill points each level on Knowledge skills to maintain the doru’s attention. If you do not, he abandons you; cross
this boon off your Chronicle sheet. If you do not take Veshtahz as a familiar, you can call upon him to seek out secrets for you.
In place of attempting a Diplomacy check to gather information, you can cross this boon off your Chronicle sheet to
receive information as though your result were a 30.

Dark Archive and Scarabe Sages storyline scenarios usually provides a lot of cool things for spellcasters.

Atum Shane wrote:

No, he really shouldn't.

You are not supposed to know what is on Chronicles before you get them.
You should not have told him the scenario that the boon came from. Please do not do that in the future.

That was recklessly from me. After all these years I am forgetting there are still might be spoiler alerts or some society misteries and regulations.

OK, this is metagaming, but Tere just went up a level after his last mission. Would you mind if I reallocated a skill rank to Survival? That'll get Tere close to Lasaraleen's untrained check, so it's not game-breaking.

Sure, go for it.
You would be at the same bonus, right? A +5?

Unless you really want to try this scenario with nobody in the party having Survival... I think the last scenario I ran was in Dwarven ruins and only one PC spoke Dwarven.

The Society just pulls names out of a hat...

Since it seems one of our players never checked in, we are a 5-PC table with APL = 9 (exactly midtier), and so I think that means we are the lower subtier.

If that would change your decision (possibly the DCs would be lower, possibly not), I will give you some time to think about it and change your course of action.

Otherwise I will proceed with the "do not stop the rafts" option tomorrow.

Ok if we get a survival skill , we can try it. Otherwise go on.

I was looking to see if need to change spells with only one cleric but core spells are limited and not much helps survival.

Overall, several aspects of this scenario are written as "story-first" rather than "mechanics-first."

That tends to mean a good deal of GM discretion is required. I will attempt to do so in a manner that makes this an enjoyable and dramatic game for everybody.

Since one of the questions was not whether the bag would protect him, then yes, he will carry it. Plan B would have been to have Lang carry it but Silgil foolishly feels secure in the fact that the stone is in another dimension. not that strapping it to Lang would necessarily help.
Unfortunately, that was not one of the questions that Atum requested Veshtahz to ask. I went by Atum's post of the six questions.

It was his spell so he got to ask the questions, which is fine by me. That spell is a pain in the butt and can lead to analysis paralysis so I'm just happy he got the questions out so fast.

Regarding the Aqueous Orb.

Once we played wit ha nother wizard. I even took his magic book template. And also we excanged couple spells - the Orb was one of them.

Here is his spellbook .

I do not have the Orb at my chronicles and even at the very cool book which Atum bought: Insights of Far-Seeing Taernis

If you would like to restrict usage - I will come up with something else.

Otherwise movement necessary - reasonable.

That's fine, Atum. I'll just have to trust that this other player legitimately had it.

Clearly this is one of those spells that they added after Core because they thought Conjuration needed a boost... ??

We should exchanges some spells. I'd love to get that orb since Silgil has improved spell focus in conjuration. I could trade a non-core spell in my spellbook for it. Perhaps Spiked Pit?

Perhaps, but there are a lot of non-conjuration spells that are not core that are well loved too, like Burst of Radiance and Clay Skin. But yea, it is really nice to get some conjurations spells that benefit from spell focus. I'll take what I can get.

Yea, I think we should exchange some spells!

I have a realtively nice spellbook , but also a special bok with a bunch of great spells inside - Insights of Far-Seeing Taernis (Spellbook, Level 12 Conjurer) . I see it is already contains Spiked pit.

I'd gladly take some other Conjurations spells as well as interesting Divination or Abjuration things. Or Necro-offensive something.
