Volsung's eyes seem a bit out of focus as he looks at the corpse of the sylyph, and he speaks quietly, almost to himself.
"Frustration? Perhaps he was stopped before he reached an important goal?"

![]() |

Bom steps forward. "Yes, those boots would be very quite useful for my vertically challenged person."

![]() |

Volsung was still staring at the corpse, but he nodded in agreement with Bom's proposal

![]() |

Bom puts on the boots.

![]() |

Ghukar headed over to the corpse to inspect the ground. Seeing some fallen hair from the Sylph, he picked up. "I do not wish to take it from your body but hopefully it will help us in dealing with your killer. he said with a bow to the corpse.
Not sure if I can do it but might come in handy in order to change forms

cmlobue |

Hopefully the sylph's contribution in death will do something to make up for how it occurred.
Anything else to do here? If not, where are you heading next?

![]() |

Ever curious, Volsung looks down the shaft to the degree permitted by the iron portcullis.
Have dark vision

cmlobue |

This is an elevator shaft, and the platform is far below. You suspect the portcullis is designed to open when the lift is on this level.

![]() |

Volsung, who has the technological skills of a rock, looks for anything resembling a control for this "elevator" thing.
He also notes to his colleagues, "There was someone going on about a 'test' in my head. Anybody see anything that looks like it could be a test? I assume it's more complicated than 'don't end up as a sacrifice to Pazuzu.'"

cmlobue |

You still have three doors and a strange cloud wall to investigate.

![]() |

Clearly having left his ADHD meds back on the material plane, the ever-curious Volsun will take a look at this strange cold wall

cmlobue |

As Volsung approaches the cloud, the head of a fanged monkey emerges!

Ghukar was not expecting to be greeted by a creature that could snap him up in one bite. Slapping a green vial to the bomb, Ghukar chucked it towards the tiger shaped creature. The sticky material flowed towards the ground as the bomb came into contact with its feet.

Correct. The entire surprise round was "bite the guy near my cloud" by the creature. You are all on full rounds now.
Zirul moves down the hallway.
Ghukar tosses a pair of bombs at the creature. The cold one is off-target, but the sticky one connects.
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Bom and Ulfur pair up to attack. While the wolf gets a good bite in, they do not get to find out if tripping works on the Plane of Air just yet.
Volsung shakes off the negative energy and turns invisible.

In that case, I would have moved there and fired, I was thinking suprise round meaning the creature would come to us out of the doorway, but instead I would move closer to the doorway, not out of the way of it and fired. hit: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 1 = 16 vs touch dmg: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 = 9

Volsung casts deja vu, becomes visible, and beats feet to the side of the hall.
Deja Vu is a very weird spell that has not saving throw, whatever actions the target uses on the next round, they have to use on the round after that.

A little confused here, is the mist-form of the critter visible?

cmlobue |

Yes, it is visible. A [redacted] can change into the form of a 10-foot black cloud or back to its normal form as a standard action." Updated it on the map to be more clear (or less clear, depending on your perspective).

Thanks, sticking with my deja vu then.

Zirul Huntinghawk |

reload and fire again hit: 1d20 + 14 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 14 + 1 = 17 It misfires on a 2 as well, cause I would have to reload using a paper cartridge otherwise I couldn't fire until next round, again reliable pistol doesn't break or explode for the gunslinger. dmg: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 = 14

Ashwell pelts the smoky creature with bolts of force.
Zirul tries to shoot into the cloud, but can't pick out a good target.

I don't believe I'm still invisible as I cast deja vu upon the thing.

Bom defends himself and his wolf.
Ghukar's bombs hit the ceiling, splashing some fire on the creature.

Bom casts lead blades on himself Duration is 6 minutes

![]() |

Volsung is much amused as he watches various bombs and magic missiles impact on the critter.
Waiting to see if it's still alive, which I very much doubt.

cmlobue |

Ashwell puts some more missiles into the creature.
Zirul shoots the cloud. No one is really sure how this works, but it does.
Ghukar throws another pair of bombs at it, and the cloud dissipates.
Bom (barkskin, lead blades)
Volsung (-26 HP)
You hear a sound of stone craping against stone from the direction of the portcullis.

![]() |

Can we see into C4 from where the critter emerged or is the entrance sill covered by clouds?

cmlobue |

You can't see through, but you can walk through. The room has nothing of interest in it now that the creature is gone.

![]() |

The "sound of stone scraping against stone" is enough for Volsung to move away from the portcullis and seek concealment in the clouds from which the critter emerged.

![]() |

Bom moves to the side and goes Total Defense, instructing Ulfur to do the same.

cmlobue |

The elevator reaches the top and the portcullis lowers. Three large masses of clouds that resemble humans emerge.
