This may be a silly question, but can you stare at someone you can't see? You know the captain's location because of Ulfur's scent ability, but she is still invisible.

Not a silly question. The relevant rules text reads, "The hypnotic stare is a psychic effect, and relies more on the mesmerist's focus than the target's perception of the stare.

I guess it all depends on whether one reads "focus" as a specifically visual thing or as a more general activity, akin "pays close attention to." If it's former, she won't be effected by the Hypnotic Stare.

A small chest Efwurwa carried contains a selection of exotic incenses and aromatic wood shavings worth 500 gp and a block of incense. She also carried a sword and bracers that radiate dmagic.

"Uhm, this useful for those that like to team up on an opponent as it helps distract them so that the others can easily get in their blows." he said before turning his attention to the bracers.+1 menacing greatsword. When the wielder is adjacent to a creature that is being flanked by an ally, the flanking bonus on attack rolls for all flanking allies increases by +2.

With a frown the Alchemist shook his head "This is a very minor magic item that helps provide some armor protection." he said

Casting Burst of Insight on myself before the Sense Motive check. Since I've known the wand is a pain in the A** for some time now, I swapped for the actual spell when I hit 8th level as a Mesmerist. I'm mjst going to toss the wand. It was only 150 gp.

The journey to Purest Air takes 4 days. The crew spends most of the time conducting routine ship maintenance, adjusting the rigging and rudder to navigate the air streams. As long as the PCs did not kill her earlier, Captain Beysal spends some time conversing with her passengers. She is full of stories about the fantastic sights she has seen while traveling the Endless Sky. She also has some important information regarding their destination.

“When we reach the tower, we’ll be docking at the roof. That’s the only entrance—solid clouds, hard as stone, seal off any others. Even if there were more, I’ll not risk the Williwaw by approaching off course. That tower has siege weapons! Once we dock, you’re on your own. My crew and I aren’t even allowed to set foot off the ship; one of Grasping Storm’s charming ways of establishing dominance over flesh-and-blood beings. You might be able to talk your way past the guards, but that’s not my concern. If a fight breaks out, we won’t be assisting, though.”

"The rooftop is guarded by a demon and his drake servants. After your showing against Efwurwa, you might be able to take them, but you can also pretend to be my expected passengers and talk your way in. Though they were expecting elementals, not humanoids, so that's something you'll also need to figure out if you want to avoid a fight.

"I have never seen the interior and hope never to."

On the fourth day, a lookout points out a distant flying cloud dragon, and identifies it as one of Grasping Storm’s perimeter scouts. Since the Williwaw is expected, the dragon issues no challenge and flies off, but the sighting means Purest Air is just a few hours away.

A short time later, the Williwaw changes course, headsing directly for the only cloud in sight. As it approaches, the tower atop the cloud becomes visible.

A cloud on the horizon grows larger, its details resolving to the naked eye as the Williwaw draws closer. It resembles a pearly gray anvil a thousand feet across. Despite the surrounding blue skies, lightning flickers within. The top of the cloud is perfectly flat. A lustrous tower soars hundreds of feet above the cloud’s surface. Thick layers of wispy vapor curl around the tower like shifting, smoky ivy. The cylindrical tower gradually becomes rectangular at the peak.

When you arrive, the tower’s guards wave the Williwaw into the sky dock.

Vulsung is up for a game of "deceive the demon." He will tell him that Gathering Storm has decided to fight fire with fire, and has thus hired us, a group of mercenaries from the material plane in order to better combat the threat he faces from there.

While he waits to find out what his colleagues think of his "deceive the demon" plan, Volsung will cast heightened awareness on himself. He implants mesmeric mirror in himself.

As well as false life, which grants him 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10 temporary hit points for nine hours.

Ghukar pondered a bit. "Volsung, I can create an infusion that will allow you assume the form of another creature for a few minutes. The only question is what form and I will need a piece of the creature that you want to assume. A fingernail or some hair will work, but has to be a humanoid." he said.

Recognizing the danger that a mind-controlled Bom would present to the party, Volsung implants gift of will in his mind.

Had my bloodrager character dominated once. It was not pretty.

Captain Beysal puts out the plank to the fortress and greets the demon curtly. "Bozhithar. The new recruits."

Bozhithar approaches the airship and studies the Pathfinders. "These are really Grasping Storm’s newest servants," he grumbles. "You're slipping, captain."

"I'm just transporting them. You need to talk to your other agents if you're not satisfied with the quality of their candidates."

The demon chuckles grimly. "Fine. Let's see how satisfying they really are. Show me your command over the forces of air!"

The party needs to make one primary Bluff check. Any spells or other abilities you can use to (such as casting spells with the air descriptor) will provide a bonus to your Bluff check. If you have any Air Affinity boon on your character, note that as well. Anyone who wants to try to pass as a sylph or air creature must also make an individual Disguise check.

You can also make a Knowledge (Planes) check to identify the demon.

Volsung can think of absolutely no reason to delay the return of the demon to her home and, no doubt, loving family.

Curious as to the source of the voice, he casts detect psychic significance to see what might be around.

"Detect the presence of psychically significant items" in a 40-foot radius. It's totally the GM's choice what, if anything, Volsung detects. It's really more for fun than any real intelligence gathering. It is a 0-level spell after all.
