Let me ask now, can we raise Arrius from the dead (using his boons or whatever) before we continue on with the mission?

![]() |

I'm afraid I don't have anything.

cmlobue |

You do not have access to the Pathfinder Society's usual resources here. If one of you knows raise dead and has access to the material components, you could use that.

![]() |

With the dismissal of the elementals, Bom almost looks disappointed. He quickly checks on the fallen Arrius.
" Gorum smiles down on you."
Turning back to the group,
"We need to take his body back before we depart."
@Arrius do you have anything we could use that's not consumable?

![]() |

@Bom: I've got a level 1 pearl of power that hasn't been used today. Otherwise, it's just worn gear and a couple of consumable items like a potion of healing and a snapleaft.

![]() |

With your permission, Bom will borrow the pearl.
@GM, a couple of questions:
1. Do we have time to take Arrius back to the lodge in Port Eclipse?
2. How long will it take to get the Grasping Storm stronghold?

![]() |

@Bom: Of course, no worries about the pearl. I'd rather see it used than just sitting around. Just don't drop it, since who knows what would happen on the Plane of Air :)

![]() |

@GM is the Druid coming with?

cmlobue |

No, they have gotten you on the ship, which was their role in all this.

![]() |

Bom wears his necklace of Elemental Strife, so he's warned of elementals within 60 feet.
@TEAM Bom also has a swarmbane clasp, if someone else wants to wear that, feel free to claim it.

![]() |

I'm assuming I am with +18 diplomacy and +15 bluff plus burst of insight and honeyed tongue

![]() |

Bom will probably take one of those psychic impressions if no one else wants one.

![]() |

My Bluff is +5. I have one Air Affinity boon and something I’m not sure counts or not. I have the Elemental Awaking boon and I chose Air Affinity as well which gives me +1 on Charisma checks with creatures with the air subtype.

![]() |

Sorry about that whole captain-demon mixup. I'm sure the captain has a loving family too.

I have no idea why my nice aasimar has become so snarky. It's probably something to do with the Plane of Air. He's not usually this annoying.

cmlobue |

Outpost is ending in a few days, and clearly we will not be done by then. I will be reporting our table this weekend so everyone who provides an email address on the sign-in sheet will be eligible for one of the 50 prize vouchers Paizo has donated. I'll be assuming max prestige for now, but they will edit it if it turns out you don't meet one of the success conditions. For most of you, you also won't get a chronicle until we finish.
Arrius, would you like to resolve your condition and get a chronicle, then be removed from the campaign?

![]() |

@GM: I'm happy to keep watching and get my Chronicle with the others. (plus, formally, I need to wait to see how many days it takes them to get my body back to civilisation as that will affect the minimum caster level of the raise dead).

![]() |

Couldn't we have given Arrius to the druid before we left?

![]() |

I agree. I don't think we would have taken the body if we knew we had no means to raise dead. At the start of the scenario, we met a Venture Captain and a guy from the Concordance of Elements. It sounds like there would be someone to take the body for safekeeping.

cmlobue |

Yes, you could make arrangements for the body to be sent back while you adventured.

![]() |

Obviously speaking just for myself, I would not think so as deafened has neither an emotion or fear effect, nor does it appear to affect concentration.
However, there could be something else in those two blasts of winds which would affect concentration.

cmlobue |

The damage from the blasts affects concentration, of course.
Psychic spellcasting replaces the somatic and verbal components with emotion and thought components. Being under a fear effect would ruin spellcasting, for example, but you don't need to hear.

![]() |

Not sure I am understanding the wind situation. It sounds like my Large companion cannot even get onto the steps without coming within 5' of the wall and being blow off?
Also wanted to wait to see the effects of confusion before moving.
Finally, does i take a standard action to activate the boots?

cmlobue |

The wolf could stand on the inner edge, though that could cause different issues. The room is definitely not designed for the comfort of non-flying creatures.
The boots don't say specifically, but "on command" implies that there is a command word, which takes a standard to activate.

I'm so very, very sorry. My wife and I got a greyhound this weekend, visited the shelter on Friday and picked her up yesterday, and I totally forgot about our game here until this morning.

I'm pretty sure I've shared this so anyone with the link can open it. Technically, she's not a greyhound greyhound. She's a Spanish greyhound, a galgo.

Peanut butter is an amazing tool for getting photos of dogs.

cmlobue |

At last, we are coming to the end of the scenario. This time, we have some conditions that need to be cleared before we can get chronicles out.
Arrius is dead (but his body is safe).
Volsung is permanently deafened.
Ashwell is permanently deafened or dead (but his body is safe), depending on how things go in the next round.
Anything the party has the capability of removing on their own (e.g. capable of casting remove blindness/deafness or raise dead) costs only the materials to do so (nothing or 5,000 gp, respectively). Otherwise, you will need to spend gold or prestige points to hire someone to clear the condition for you.
If you have not rolled a day job, or have any other notes for the chronicle sheet, now is the time.

Bom is willing to chip in for any restorative/raise dead spells that need to be cast

Same.
Volsung will spend 1 PP to remove his deafness.
He composes some catchy tunes and goes out busking.
Perform(sing): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

![]() |

@PCs: Good job folks! I was watching from the sidelines and silently cheering you on.
@GM: I'll clear the "dead as a doornail" condition by spending Prestige Points. I'm going to cross off my "Magnimarian Debt" boon to have the good citizens of Magnimar contribute half the cost to raising Arrius in gratitude for his help dealing with an assault in the city's Temple of Abadar during a certain race for a Runecarved key. (mechanically, they pay 8 PP of the 16 PP cost to have him raised, and the other half should be deducted from the Chronicle). Thanks!

cmlobue |

Chronicles will be out tomorrow, hopefully. Apparently it's too late to edit things on RPG Chronicles, so I will need to generate them the old-fashioned way.
I have Volsung spending 1 PP to regain his hearing, and Ashwell spending 150 gp for the same.
Arrius is spending 8 PP and a boon to be raised from the dead, but also has two negative levels to clear via restoration. Each casting costs 4 PP or 1350 gp.
If you have anything else you want noted on your chronicle, let me know now.

![]() |

Does Arrius need help with that cost? I’m happy to chip in.
And just for the record, that was a TOUGH scenario! Both the first and last battles were hairy!
And as always, thanks for running the game for us, GM!

@GM: Oh yes, forgot about the negative levels! Yes, please go ahead and deduct 8 more PP to clear them. (good thing I save all my PP for clearing conditions!)
@Ashwell: Thanks, that was a kind offer but I should be good. And yes, a tough scenario, so good work!

![]() |

Yes, thanks to the GM for running. Would love to run some more PF1, please ping me if you're going to run more.

And by "the old-fashioned way", I mean "while trying to figure out why it assigned Zirul 32.34 gp...
Chronicles are >HERE<. Please let me know if there are any problems. I will leave the thread open for a few more days for questions or final roleplay (though I will be traveling, so won't be able to respond until Saturday).
My apologies that this took so long and was so vicious. Thank you all for playing!

![]() |

Also many thanks for running and I too have an interest in doing some more PF1 with Volsung. He's my main (only?) non-Seeker PF1 PC at the moment.

Got it, thanks GM!
And yes, I'd love to play some more PFS1. (I'm also planning to GM a game soon, just finishing up my prep on it)

![]() |

Got it. Thank you for running the adventure cmlobue!
Would enjoying playing some more PSF 1. Now I have two at level 10 that I can look at retiring to join the other two. (Three got permanently retired so far!)
