I think I will go for a human illusion wizard for my first CORE character. Nothing fancy. First time playing wizard as well.

Dump CHA and STR and pump that INT to 20. Taking trait for UMD class skill and initiative; 1 rank in all monster identification knowledge, spellcraft, and perception; take illusion school and ban enchantment and necromancy. Feat will be improved init, spell focus(illusion) from wizard, and greater spell focus(illusion) from human. My gut feeling is there will be a lot of conjurer in CORE so I want to be different, thus illusionist. Gonna take a rat familiar for fort save.

Wow, CORE character are so....not complicated that I can summerize my whole character in 1 paragraph.

Anyway, Joyce's perception will be +1, since I don't think there's a trait to make it a class skill.
Initiative will be +8 (2dex 2trait 4 feat).

This is what some of the older adventures to fun in Core, some chronical sheets unlock mechanics, races, ect not otherwise available in Core mode.

You have plenty of time right now, its presumably taken a few weeks to get you all together, a few more hours or days of prep and research wont hurt.

Scribe your spells!

Shukara Melkamnet and Brazia's Lilac still haven't posted in the Gameplay but this ended up coalescing very quickly for a PBB so I'll give them until saturday morning EST to look into adding Qstor, who has asked in the recruitment thread if we are still open. (not a fan of 7 player tables, especially in pbp so I'll put them in reserve for now)

That brings us to my botting policy; I'll usually bot your actions in "combat" 24 hours after your turn, or 48 if its the weekend. if it is out of combat I will try to hold off on botting you unless it is required to move the story along.

On the other end of things, I will try my darnest to post a minimum of once every 24 hours as needed.

If we don't hear from someone in 72 hours I'll PM them to see if everything is ok.

Sorry, didn't see there was a Gameplay thread.

Simplicity is what I like about Core. No crazy half-elf/half-angel gunslinger/inquisitors who can see invisibility and also ignore difficult terrain*. Everybody's characters are a lot easier to understand.

* Not hating-- this exactly describes my -1 character. Just proving my point.

Probably not a good idea, what would be amusing is to get a pointy wizard hat and mages robes to wear on top of your armor.

That way the enemy thinks they are going after a squishy and not a tank!!

Tannivh is dressed in plain clothes, because wizards tend to be targets. But, we could deck you out in full wizard look a like mode.

I was taught to always favorite a post that at least got a "ha" or even just an exhale out of me, since we arent at the table its the only way to let someone know "that was funny" or " i like that".

I also try to favorite any crits or just good RP I see as well.

It is, but it's more of a wizard that dipped fighter than a fighter that dipped wizard (at least in terms of the levels you need). But you could totally play it as a soldier who's like "I can't get this spell to... screw it I'm swinging a sword."

For Handout #4, each of you get to embody one of Eylysia's companions. Mechanically that means that you each have to pick one(1) of the companions to embody and only 1 each, with no repeats.

Each companion has special abilities that can be used during the combat.

Once everyone has posted a choice I'll roll initiative and we can get started.
