Your adventure begins in the Vaults of the Grand Lodge in Absalom.

Grand Archivist Zarta Dralneen asked Rain in Cloudy Day to assemble a group of Pathfinders in a vault filled with newly acquired treasures.

"Hi all! I'm Rain In Cloudy Day. I'm a new Pathfinder agent here in the Grand Lodge. I'm a special assistant to Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin."

Rain in Cloudy Day has a bright green body and a purple mushroom “cap” atop his head, and he wears a white scarf and brown vest emblazoned with the Glyph of the Open Road. Grand Archivist Zarta Dralneen has long dark hair and black nail polish and is wearing a vibrant blue dress. Both greet the group of Pathfinders in a vault filled with newly acquired treasures, which Rain calls the “Vault of Boundless Wonder!”—a phrase he exclaims while excitedly waving his hands.

After a short moment to allow Rain to speak, he continues: My name's Loompecker.

Grand Archive

Loopecker turns to find the massive head of a hungry tengu staring inches from him as the the tengu looks past him at Rain on a Cloudy Day

The overly large and strange looking tengu waits inside the room. Normally he wouldn't be an oddity but this one looks to be very young for its size. Another such oddity is this hatchling seems to be wearing its thick, protective eggshell it was born from as broken pieces of armor all laced together with strands of rope. The egg shell plates clatter around the as he moves.

Hearing others joining him he ruffles his feathers. "SQWAUK! My flock calls me Jaariko but most people in town call me Baby Huey." He opens his beak in a strange smile. Large portions of his previous meal hang loosely inside.

A rather tall (for a small poppet) and skinny wooden marionette wearing a tattered and faded pink dress paired with a dirty white dueling cape enters the scene. There is something peculiar about them, their nose is visibly long, as if a manufacturing defect on a toy. Also, their wooden skin is somewhat deteriorating and damp. In their hands, they have a wooden club and wooden buckler which in contrast to their state, looking good as new. Their big shiny eyes scan the room and find the others.

"Hewwo, I am Guiseppino.” they say after they awkwardly bow to them. They then turn to Rain, "It is nice to meet you again, Wain." They also give a courteous bow to Grand Archivist Zarta, which it is their first time to meet her. "Hewwo, Gwand Awchivist Zawta. I am Guiseppino. "My name's Maram. Here, have a drink."

Maram is a medium-sized hairy shoony, looking like a humanoid chow-chow. His longish brown hair poofed out in all directions, his eyes were dark and half-hidden under folds of skin and hair, and his tongue had a dark purple color when it flopped out of his mouth as he smiled.

Maram wore a brigantine - plates of steel riveted together and covered with blue and red felting - and numerous bandoliers, pouches, and belts, all stuffed with gewgaws, thingamajigs, and twists of dead plants. Around his neck he wore a necklace with the holy symbols of at least a dozen major religions and several minor ones.

He held out a stein that he had unclipped from his belt, taking a heavy draught from it and leaving flecks of foam on his muzzle. "Try a sip, I promise it'll be exactly what you need."

Try a drink?:

Maram wasn't kidding. Whatever magic the stein held, you could taste your favorite drink in the world.

Horizon Hunters

The door of the lodge opens with a thump, and the cold wind with freezing rain droplets blows on the assembly of pathfinders. A dark silhouette enters the door, and a flash of light momentarily cuts darkness as he returns a sword back to the sheath. As he steps forward, the light of the room reveals a hardened but youthful face. His body is wrapped in leather armor with studs and two swords hanging by his waist.
He takes a short breath and scans the room knowing his master’s murderer could be nearby. Rain In Cloudy Day recognized him, Welcome Bakunawan, I am happy you could join us.
Bakunawan nodded, sat with the pathfinder assembly, and said, “Peace be with you”.

Wall of text coming for the intro...

If your current character has played 99-01 (Second Confirmation):

Rain's face lights up as he recognizes you. He gushes about how much fun their adventure together was, thanks them for helping him pass his Confirmation, and proclaims that the ruins they uncovered drew the attention of all sorts of important faction leaders for a special new training mission.

If your current character has played 99-02 (United in Purpose):

Rain recognizes you as one of the Pathfinders who undertook the training mission in the ruins. He begs for a firsthand account of your adventure.

Zarta Dralneen watches the conversation with amusement, but clears her throat to remind Rain of his current mission.

"The Archives get more exciting every day," Rain states then adds, "And who better to manage the excitement than Zarta! Oh, have you all met Grand Archivist Zarta Dralneen?" Rain prompts you to introduce yourselves. Zarta smiles and thanks you for coming. Rain and Zarta then lead the group to a table covered in interesting objects.

Rain in Cloudy Day waves exuberantly to indicate the piles of treasure in the vaulted chamber. "Just look at all these magic items! And enchanted weapons! And a skull that always looks at me funny! Big magic books about even bigger magic books! Well, I’m not sure about that last one. I haven’t read them. Cataloging all this treasure is bound to be exciting! It sure beats sorting the mail."

Zarta leads the group through the vaults. She runs her fingertips along the table, lifts a strange hourglass, and inspects it with dubious curiosity. "Exciting, yes, and possibly quite dangerous."

Rain frowns. "Well, yes, but… at least we’re in the safety of the Lodge? Can’t be that bad! You said these items are harmless." He picks up a skull from the table. Its eyes glow with pink fire, and it speaks, "Unhand me, you hideous rotten mushroom! Harmless?! How dare you!" Rain replaces the skull and covers it with a cloth, muffling the voice.

"Well… mostly harmless?"

Zarta fails to stifle a grin. She tilts the hourglass this way and that, shrugs, and sets it back on the table. "Yes, mostly harmless. We believe these items present no major threat to us, and we’ve secured those we believe to be cursed. The true danger comes from an old enemy of the Pathfinder Society, the night hag Aslynn. She nearly claimed these treasures for herself before they were entrusted to us. We don’t know why she needs the items, or which ones are most central to her wicked plans. I’m off to a meeting to discuss the situation with Eliza, Ambrus, and the faction leaders. You’ll stay here with Rain and continue cataloging these objects. We need to learn where the items come from and understand what they do. Then we can decide what to do with them. Any questions?"

Maram has played both intros

"Oh hey, Rain! Good to see you again. Those swamps outside of Cassomir were amazing, weren't they? Indeed, I got sent into one ruin as a training mission that was practically made for my talents. There was a creepy mask that scared everyone, but I used a twist of wire and some skoyberries to rob it of its powers. And then there was a haunt, a group of dead miners or something, and all they wanted was a drink and a moment's pleasant conversation. It was..."

Maram broke off as Zarta interrupted. It was clear he was as happy to go on as Rain, but work intruded. He was especially interested in the talking skull when Rain revealed it. And unidentified magic items? He was in heaven. One of them anyways. He gently brushed his charm necklace and wondered which one he should thank for this opportunity.

"Yeah. If we find anything really useful, can we? Use it, I mean? I don't mean activating a ritual that will end the world or anything, but if there's a nice magical sandwich maker, I could really do with a bite, you know?"

Rain's To Do List:

To-Do List for My Amazing Pathfinder Friends!

1. Talking skull - Please talk to the skull. It doesn’t seem to like me. Maybe one of you will have better luck?
(Skill Check: Arcana, Diplomacy, Occultism, or Religion)

2. Pile of treasure - We probably shouldn’t leave everything in a pile like that, but we’ve been short-staffed. See what’s in there!
(Skill Check: Arcana, Crafting, or Perception)

3. Assorted items - There’s all kinds of stuff up in the raised storage areas on the west wall and in the northeast corner. Did we find any magic potions in the vault? Alchemical items? Talismans? You bet we did! I know a healing potion when I see one, but some of this stuff is beyond my experience. See what you can find!
(Skill Check: Arcana, Crafting, or Perception)

4. Pile of empty chests - I already looked through these. If you find more empty chests, just pile them in the southwest corner of the vault.

5. Danger! - These shelves are way up high and piled high with dangerous poisons and possibly cursed items. I think Zarta felt it would be safer if they were out of reach, but we should make sure there’s nothing too dangerous up there.
(Skill Check: Acrobatics, Athletics, Medicine, Thievery, or Underworld Lore)

6. Weapons - There are lots of magic weapons lying around. See if you can find the most powerful ones. Our field agents sure could use them!
(Skill Check: Arcana, Crafting, Gladiatorial Lore, or Warfare Lore)

7. Scrolls and such - We sure did find lots of scrolls! Thought I saw some wands in there, too. Might be something useful for the Society’s spellcasters in there.
(Skill Check: Arcana, Nature, Occultism, or Religion)

Thanks for your help!

Maram is startled from his inspection of the gem by Rain's shouts, and he spun, drawing his khopesh. He studied the shadow creature, trying to determine what manner of creature it was. The flickering shadows and the ill light of the Vault kept him from recognizing anything other than "shadow creature", though. He moved up to support Jaariko.
