Ah, Absalom station...a cultural hotspot! Imagine the fashions, the exotic species...
The food! The spices...
Oh, the music, the nightlife...

Elf

Absalom ... the new beginning of ancient history. He was excited to return, maybe even more so than he would be returning to Castrovel.

THE APPROACH

The shuttle Okimoro made a slow, wide circuit around Absalom Station as it made it's final approach.
As you look through a vision port you see:
The station hung like a jewel in the blackness of interplanetary space, backed by a spray of numberless stars.
Fifty miles wide, the station formed a rough metallic many pointed star, in the center of which is a blue/green hemisphere containing air, water and a parkland of wide green lawns and open forests.

The shuttle interior itself resembles more like an ancient ferry than an old airliner. The seats are wide and comfortable, and there is plenty of room to get up and walk around.
Stewardesses and Stewards are just beginning to usher people back to their seats for final docking.

The short ysogi looks out the vision port and the slow approach actually made Max a little sick. He spit tablets out of a cheek pouch and began to chew on the antacids to make his stomach feel better. When Max wasn't at the controls, any space motion was upsetting to him. His hands were shaking, as he was not drinking coffee so he could hold it all the way to Abasalon station. He realized he failed to make it all the way, and Max quickly slipped into the flushie to relieve himself one more time before docking, a quick burst of motion and he is in and out in two minutes. Not a record for him, but still pretty good. He knew washing his hands would have taken too long.

He takes his seat and pulls out his laptop and scans a list of local corporations that did runs to and from Absalon, spits an appropriate velcro flight patch out of his cheek pocket, and affixes it to his flight suit. He liked to fit in.

I would pick Absalon Frieght Co if you don't have a suggestion

"Uh, Sir? You need to return to your seat to prepare for landing." The Lashunta stewardess sees herself reflected in the cold, expressionless eyes of the unadorned blue android which was alone on the "wrong" side of the shuttle, looking not at the station, but out into the black emptiness of space.

It turns away from the window and looks at the Lashunta, the look being the only acknowledgement it provides her before complying. "Transferring to the station ends what could have been a productive expedition."

When the shuttle lands, the android waits for the other passengers to clear before getting up and moving to retrieve the checked luggage. No effort has been made to disguise the rifle case as anything else. And of course it has no other luggage. None.

One passenger that does not need to be told to return to his seat is the tall gentleman in the impeccable clothes that is currently busy reading several traveller's guidebooks about Absalom station, and taking furious notes about various things that has caught his interest.
"Now now, THAT is certainly interesting...
Oh, I shall have to have a look at that...
Really? Hmm..."

Elf

Having known the Station since the dawn of the Pact Worlds, Celebryn smiles looking over the shoulder of the well-dressed envoy sitting just across from him. The young man probably couldn't imagine that the landing dock was as rough of a spot as it was, but he would find out soon enough.

Bryn smiles at the Lashunta stewardess, silently wondering if she missed Castrovel as well. Then he hoped she hadn't heard his thoughts ... but it really had been a long time since he had been home, and he was glad to at least be closer. Some things were just better when they were Elven.

Celebryn II:
The Station is very different now from when you first saw it. You remember a scratch series of huge cargo spaceships welded together barely five miles in diameter...
Now, it is ten times larger, a busy dynamo, a beautiful beehive constantly under construction.

Female Human Technomancer 1

One young woman had to be reminded a second time to return to her seat. She'd been gazing at the station with a wistful smile, as of somebody momentarily lost in memory. "Yes, of course," she said, ambling back to her seat to await docking.

One of many travellers, practically dressed in layers which could easily be adjusted for a variety of planetary environments.

The station gets larger and larger, until your eye cannot resolve it as anything other than a city sized wall, jutting with metallic structures sparking with the light of plasma welders.
A small lit square expands until your shuttle enters a lit cavernous space.
Then the shuttle landed with a gentle thump.
Final docking procedures take a few minutes, at which point the flight attendants welcome the shuttle's passengers to Absalom Station!
Passengers pick up their take on luggage and start down the gangplank to the deck of the shuttle bay.

Disembarking, you finally set foot on legendary Absalom Station and take your first lungful of it's artificial air.

The brightly lit docks are abuzz with activity as travelers bustle by, preparing to board or disembark from starships bound to or from any of dozens of worlds.
Brash and swaggering starpilots, scurrying Ysoki mechanics, and expectant colonists mingle with enigmatic Kasatha Mystics, hard-faced asteroid miners, imposing Vesk mercenaries, and more, creating a microcosm of the abundance and variety of life in the Pact Worlds.
New arrivals meet friends, loved ones, or business contacts, and are whisked away into the humming activity of daily life in the vast space station.
Beyond them, ground crews tend to the docked ships, and dockworkers in mechanized cargo lifters load and unload freight and baggage.
A sharp tang of ozone hangs in the air--a byproduct of electrical discharges from the docked ships--but underneath, the station's atmosphere has a slightly used aroma.
The docking bay's deck plates thrum beneath your feet, though whether it's from the passage of innumerable feet or the vibrations of the station's power conduits and air recycling systems is impossible to say.

Perception DC11:
Across the bay you see a dwarf. Tall and lanky, with a bristly, iron-gray beard and deep-set eyes beneath bushy eyebrows. With his patched and stained coveralls, he looks like just another dockworker. He is reading a datapad while a holographic sign reading "Starfinder Society" blinks above him.
You suspect he is your contact.

Perception DC15:
You notice two groups of people that arent moving like passengers or dockworkers. They are kind of furtive, using crates, shipping containers, rolling carts and such to hide their movements from each other.

Valtri was less sanguine about their ability to slip around behind one of the groups. Conflict, in her experience, had a tendency to spill outwards.

Was a fight about to erupt? It seemed a good enough possibility that Valtri sought out her own piece of cover to assess the developing situation from.

'It might be difficult to find our contact with so much traffic. We should move around to find them.'

'Perhaps we should shout their name out? That would get their attention.'

'Is that your answer to every problem? Noise? Please be quiet.'

You all see the dwarf with the "Starfinder Society" hologram blinking over him. He looks up and waives.
But at that moment, most of you see some furtive actions from some in the crowded concourse; suspicious characters ducking behind cover and pulling pistols. Some look like punks, with ripped leather, piercings, bandannas and piercings/tatoos, and some look like mafia types, with suits, ties and dark glasses.

Suddenly, red pulse laster shots lance through the crowd. *FZAAP* *FZAAP* *FZAPAPAP* The crowd screams and starts running every which way; chaos abounds.

On the one hand, Valtri displayed the good sense to find cover. On the other, her attempt to break up the firefight was not the most realistic.

"CEASE FIRE!" she bellowed, "Cease, you warbling balloon-poppers! Do you want the gendarmerie down on your heads?!"

In times of crisis, those around her might discern that Valtri's vocabulary was perhaps a step or two sideways of the average.

Description
A smoke grenade deals no damage; instead, it releases a cloud of dense smoke. Each character who inhales smoke must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw each round (DC = 15 + 1 per previous check) or spend that round choking and coughing; he can do nothing else. A character who chokes for 2 consecutive rounds takes 1d6 nonlethal damage. (Active environmental protection from a suit of armor prevents this effect altogether.) Regardless of the armor a character wears, smoke obscures vision, providing concealment.

"Raft-burners," Valtri swore bitterly, upon seeing the violence unleashed upon innocents. Absolom Station, it seemed, had as many reckless outlaws as any distant and unclaimed planetoid. "Over here!" she called, waving to the nearest bystanders, "Take cover!"

The occasional smoke bomb wasn't going to appreciably disrupt the shooting (particularly considering she didn't have any). Instead, Valtri cast her gaze across the docking bay in search of something she could shoot to unleash a cloud of billowing smoke. A fire suppression system, perhaps.

The android's voice was a strange amalgam of different gendered voices of various pitches and clarity, it was an odd thing to witness.

Though the grenade is a little off target, white smoke billows out, concealing several people within.

Valtri cast her gaze across the docking bay in search of something she could shoot to unleash a cloud of billowing smoke. A fire suppression system, perhaps.

Valtri:
You can see a fire suppression system, the pipes and nozzles barely visible attached to the walls and ceiling. You know that a couple burning crates won’t trigger it. Blowing the shuttle’s fuel cells would kill everybody, and aren’t vulnerable to your weapons anyway.
But… There, directly to your station north about forty feet, there’s a local control station. There might be an command override lever there; but even if not, a slicer should be able to slice in to command it that way as well.
