A circlet of smoke moves up in the air on the deck of the Kingfisher. The smoke comes from a cigar. The cigar is stuck in the mouth of dwarf with a beard wearing a stetson hat. He also wears a leather armor and has a pistol at the belt.

Another Goblin, clad in leather and wearing a thick traveling cloak, has spent most of the journey so far to himself, his scythe never far from his grip. He has been busying himself with tending to his companion, a leopard larger than himself, that seems to be perpetually on fire. The two seem to keep to specific surfaces, and always a bucket of water handy, to prevent the animal's flames from spreading and causing harm to the ship.

As Dran'Tilt introduces himself, he will look up from his never-ending task. "Dran... An acquaintence of mine... A kitsune by the name of Yako-Zenko, told me about you... He said you are the reliable sort, I look to confirm this."

Good to see you again so shortly after our last joint society mission in the form of a play.

He will then turn to the venture-captain and give a curt nod. "Hello... My friend here is Mr. Kitteh... They are not a fan of this mode of travel... Much too confining... But we won't burn down your ship, or my name isn't Wraax."

He will give Pre Fix a side-eye glance anytime smoke escapes from his body, suggesting he doesn't trust any other Goblin around fire. Nothing personal... First made this character way back when 2e first dropped, and people were worried about pyromaniac goblins everywhere... Just not had much chance to play them much so still low level.

A short but lean man in his padded armor arrives at the scene. What follows him is an angel, his eidolon, who is tall and muscular. His wings are white and wide. They bow simultaneously and introduces themselves, one after another.

"Good day, I am Charlies." Charlies says. "And I am Estes," the angel continues. "We are glad in meeting you all here." Charlies tells them.

"I'm sure you've guessed this isn't just a fishing trip. I would have filled you in sooner, but I was asked to keep everything confidential until we arrived. An expedition of Pathfinder initiates recently discovered this uncharted island, Burozi. The recruits found some Azlanti ruins, and we have a special assignment for your team."

Muesello turns to the shore just five hundred feet from the moored ship, the peak of the island barely visible against the orange glow of the morning sun behind it. He clicks open an intricate compass, and its needle snaps to the direction of the island.

"Open your wayfinder, and you'll see the same thing. This close to Burozi, all wayfinders point toward the island. As for the one in my hand here, this was found on Burozi—I've never seen one quite like it. The expedition team found it near a sealed hatch made out of reinforced skymetal. They couldn't get in, which might have been for the best. The recruits were inexperienced, and Azlanti devices can be incredibly dangerous! But you've got more experience under your belts, so I need you to find a way through that sealed door and investigate whatever is on the other side."

With a reassuring nod, Muesello returns to his work, meticulously checking each bolt as crew members emerge from below and begin preparing a sailboat for passage to the island.

The excavated ruins of a tower rise from halfway up the island's sloping peak. All that remains of the tower is a semi-circle of white wall holding back centuries of dirt and debris. The skymetal hatch lies dead center in the tower's foundation. The 5-foot-wide hatch is decorated in thin silver filigree resembling gears in the shape of an eye.

DC 24 Religion:

You recognize the image as the holy symbol of Amaznen, the Azlanti god of magic. At the center of the eye is a socket that is obviously the same size and shape as the wayfinder you received from Muesello.

When the wayfinder is slotted into the hatch, the colored light in the wayfinder activates and spreads down silver circuits 100 feet in each cardinal direction before reaching panels built along the perimeter of the ruined structure.

The hatch door is controlled by 4 actuators. You each need three successes to fix the actuator, which will unlock the hatch

North Actuator: The magical energy flowing off this actuator is traveling in the wrong direction.
DC 18 Arcana or Occultism to reroute the energy.

South Actuator: Access to this actuator is blocked.
DC 18 Acrobatics to through narrow gaps in the rubble or DC 18 Athletics to clear it and reach the actuator.

East Actuator: A fuse on this actuator is broken. The PCs must succeed at Crafting checks or DC 16 Azlant Lore or Engineering Lore checks to repair the fuse.
To repair: DC 18 Crafting or DC 16 Azlant/Engineering Lore

West Actuator: The fuses on this actuator have become dislodged, and putting them back in place is a delicate operation.

West Actuator looks very much like it was poorly designed. Being two, specific, Trained Only Lores <.< So could easily ahve no one in the party be trained in either... Something to note on the review of this

Wraax will see the others working on South and West Actuators, so he will turn East and attempt to repair that actuator.

Charlies joins the Haka and Pre Fix towards the South Actuator, making his way between the gaps of the rubble.

Good thing Haka is strong enough to remove some rubbles because Charlies is having a hard time getting through them. Estes is just looking blankly at his attempts.

Nodding his head as he seems to be getting the hang of it and making progress, the end goal in sight. he makes one final go at finishing this "fuse"

You all have most of the Actuators repaired except for North. You all hear a faint hissing sound but nothing else.

Dran'Tilt and Charlies decide to try every combination they know to reroute the energy. Putting their heads together they manage to redirect the flow of energy the right way. The door snaps open.

Inside you are greeted by a thick cloud of vapor. The interior is foggy but the air is breathable and safe. As you head down the spiral staircase, you hear a door click open.

The fog gives a -2 penalty to sight based Perception checks. As nothing has stepped out to attack yet, you may take 1 round to prepare yourselves.

Sensing the thick cloud of vapor is a sign of something sinister, Charlies floods his eidolon Estes with power to make him move faster and farther. Estes gains a 20-ft status bonus to its Speed. He then draws his steel shield as he nods to Estes while striding to another room. [smaller]"Be careful..." he advises Estes.

Haka moves to the front, but leaves his axe sheathed in case it's not overtly hostile.

You say sight based. So Scent works normally? Just checking to see if the fog is simple water vapor, or something with an acrid or otherwise smell that would override? If the former, how does the water vapor interact with the constantly on fire cat? Asking, as both matters for Mr. Kitteh.

Wraax will move up to the open door, staring into the gloom, before Whistling to Mr. Kitteh who will follow up along side and Seek as well, acting as a 20ft dim light source for those who need it.

Mr Kitteh chomps the side of the White dog-like creature. His teeth penetrate and everyone hears the sound of crunching metal. Mr Kitteh burns some of the creature's internals. His claws scratch the side of the creature but do no damage. Wraax marks the humanoid as prey and slashes the White doggo with his scythe, completely caving it in and destroying it.

None of the other doors are open. Just the one where the doggo came out.

Pre Fix sends a loud sonic attack into the room, which affects all creatures. While they reel from the bang, Haka charges in and opens a big rent in Blue's side.

The tall humanoid figure sees Haka and takes a step back, before lashing out with a whip.
