Mina also looks at the woman with a stern facial expression.
"Stop denying it! We also know about your affinity for those with elven blood when hiring!" she says.
Auto aid intimidate.

Rogarch nods being slightly more skilled and being scary then nice.
"Torch has been known to burn those that he feels that have slighted him. If we fail him we might all get caught in the cross-fire."

"All right, I'll share anything he wants to know. In short, this ring is my ultimate secret."

"That would be the control mechanism for the Sandman in your garden, I would guess?" Katswiri raises an eyebrow inquisitively as she looks it over.

"That would be the control mechanism for the Sandman in your garden, I would guess?" Katswiri raises an eyebrow inquisitively as she looks it over.
"Correct, without ring the Sandman goes rogue and causes havoc." she admits
One more mission to go

![]() |

Huh...I would have thought is was a ring that could help charm people or read their minds....elemental control works... Carlin says with a shrug.
Now...on to the last mission. I'm going to need a long bath to get the filth off me for dealing with Torch....

![]() |

Truly?!? That is fascinating, it gives you complete control over the creature? Is it from the elemental plane? Ah, my apologies, I suppose we must be going. Many Thanks again, this is quite something. And please don’t lose that ring. Willard adds sheepishly understanding he’s overstayed his welcome.

Your next assignment is the Hundredfingers Hideout.
Two rows of decrepit wooden shacks are separated by an alley that serves more as a filthy runnel than a pathway. Broken wooden doors do little to keep the elements or vermin out, but there is little within to steal. Few of the shacks boast more than a chair or two and several threadbare bedrolls. As you arrive to the alley, you meet a woman who is selling herbal remedies.
"Good day folks! Would be interested in a salve that can restore flesh as readily as the legendary sun orchid elixir restores youth?" she addresses you
Woman's picture is on Slide 6

21 Perception on a take 10.
Rogarch easily notices the talisman that the woman is wearing but not its significance.
She points it out to Willard.

“Hmm …. The woman is wearing an amber talisman of interest!!!“ she says to her team mates.
She addresses the woman.
“How much do you want lady?“ she asks.

![]() |

Thank you Rogarch, for helping me see, and Mina knows far better than I the significance of it.. covering that he has no idea what the item is. Munnin, on his shoulder, looks reproachfully at the Ulfen, as he proclaims ignorance.

![]() |

Mina identifies the talisman as token of the Red Mantis Assassins. "Oh, my wares are very affordable! Only five silvers!" she sounds gleeful answering to Mina

![]() |

Mina immediately steps back.
“She is a Red Mantis Assassin! Be careful!!“ she says and casts defending bone on herself.

![]() |

To absolutely no one's surprise, Thearor draws his blade. "Get behind us!" He assumes the pair will protect the others. "Do you want to talk to her?" He hesitates to take the first strike, in case.

![]() |

She looks at Mina and Thearor who have escalated the situation.
"Everyone keep calm now. We don't want to start an incident for nothing."
Rogarch relies on her warrior instincts for protection against unseen or underhanded attacks. While she does not draw a weapon yet her spiked gauntlet remains at the ready should anyone try something.

![]() |

"Agreed, Calm is good. We're looking for the leader of the Hundredfingers, to receive a message. Are you with the organization?" Katswiri narrows her eyes, and mentally prepares herself to cast if violence ensues.

![]() |

Suddenly two men arrive and begin breaking down shacks, pushing over tent poles, and causing mayhem while the woman runs away into hiding. They are clearly in mood for fight.

Thearor notices the woman, who was selling her wares, has climbed on the roof of house left of your position. She seems to be armed with hand crossbow.
Will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Green thug is now asleep. Orange thug has enough HD to be unaffected.
Katswiri's and Mina's turn

![]() |

Rogarch is not ready to act yet but her senses are attuned to all incoming attacks seen or unseen (Uncanny Dodge).
The warrior looks around at the battlefield ready to warn her companions.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
@Mustaparta/Willard - The Sleep spell takes longer to cast than that (1 round casting time).

![]() |

"Archer. Left high." Why should the half-elf suddenly become talkative? At least he's communicating something important instead of leaving everyone else ignorant.
He continues to delay, waiting to see if the specialists are going to try to talk first or not.

![]() |

GM: Sleep is a 1 round Casting time spell so the green thug only falls asleep next round and could potentially act this round.
Mina casts burst of radiance on the two thugs.
10 ft Radius hits both thugs. DC 18 reflex save. Creatures in the area are blinded for 1d4 rounds, or dazzled for 1d4 rounds if they succeed at a Reflex save. Evil creatures in the area of the burst take 1d4 points of damage per caster level (max 5d4), whether they succeed at the Reflex save or not.

Ok, green thug is not asleep yet, but will be after Willard completes his spell. They're not evil either so they don't need to save vs burst of radiance.
Tiger charges at his foe and wounds him.
Katswiri next

![]() |

"Okay. Not talking." Now that Thearor believes he has at least minimal instructions, he moves to the shack the assassin is standing on and opens the door.
I am assuming the shack is relatively small and that stabbing with his blade into the ceiling could provide some motivation to the assassin, eventually.
And I think that changes my position in the initiative order, yes?

![]() |

Katswiri moves forward, and gestures silently with her free hand to cast Bless.
Bless hitting all allies with a 50' burst, +1 morale bonus to attack for 5 minutes.

GM Nowruz |

Ok, green thug is not asleep yet, but will be after Willard completes his spell. They're not evil either so they don't need to save vs burst of radiance.
Hi GM, I think the blindness is irrespective of alignment. Only the damage depends on being evil so they would need to make a save, right?

Thearor, youre now after Mina in order. The assasin has total cover from ceiling. Next Rogarch

Apparently you can only draw a weapon on a charge if you move your speed or less. It is a good thing that I reread the rules as I just learned something new. :)

![]() |

Rogarch grievously wounds the thug, who cautiously backs away from attacker complaining about blindness to his friend. He replies that he is likewise blinded and seeks cover until he regains sight.
Carlin's turn

![]() |

Carlin shoots a barrage of arcane bolts at the thug Rogarch is attacking, as it's her only viable target.
Magic missile: 3d4 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) + 3 + 1 = 11

The missiles hit and the thug seems ready to give up.
Willard next

Willard's spell completes, sending one of the thugs into a deadly slumber, he grins at the others, stepping forward, and staring with all the fury of his Ulfen heritage and screaming at the top of his lungs, FLEE at the remaining thug.

Rogarch and Carlin

Rogarch heads over to attempt to take orange out of the fight. She advances, draws and swings her enormous hammer at orange. Helping Hand helps his mistress with the Guidance spell.

Next Willard

Willard moves wide to his right, trying to get a good line on the assassin on the roof. As he does so he pulls a small ash wand, pointing it at the rooftop assassin, and two magical bolts fly out to strike heim.

Combat over

"We are, but let's recover from the attack before we discuss business. Is everyone ok?" Katswiri looks around, checking to see if her companions are hurt. When it becomes clear Mina, Willard and Carlin are all deaf, Katswiri will start by talking to each to see if they can read lips. If they cannot, she will take off her glasses and hand them over to share between the deafened people. "I taught myself to read lips before I was able to afford these glasses, so I will still be able to communicate. Use the glasses to see the words on people's lips if you need to hold a conversation. Unfortunately, I only have the pair, so you will need to share."
