Let's talk out-of-character stuff here.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Dotted in :)

Greetings!

I'll wait to dot into the gameplay thread until we've grabbed our pregens.
I'm the Icarus signup (was guessing that we should put info in for the character the chronicle would go to).

Looking forward to this one - I have only played alongside a couple gunslingers so far and haven't delved into the class myself.

Hello! Apparently accidentally checked in within the Gameplay thread, sorry about that. Also looking forward to trying a gunslinger!

I signed up as Neera Shin on RPG Chronicles.

Hello everyone! I will try to start this game as soon as possible within this week. Just a bit busy during the first few days of this week due to audits and meetings at work. For now, feel free to choose which pre-gen character for the game would you like to play below:

Booker Kaar, versatile human vanguard gunslinger
Doc Featherton, versatile human medic & drifter gunslinger
Zakzak, razortooth goblin pistolero gunslinger
Zindarel, seer elf sniper gunslinger

As for the BBC Codes, you can copy them for your pre-gen character profile below:

BBC Code for Booker Kaar
BBC Code for Doc Featherton
BBC Code for Zakzak
BBC Code for Zindarel

Please take note that the HP for Zakzak is 36, and not 39.

Dotting in (Braysa here)!

As for the pregens, personally I like the look of Booker or Zakzak, but I'm pretty flexible.

All the pregens look interesting, but I think I'd have a preference for Doc or Booker.

VC - Sydney, Australia

Zak Zak!

I'm all about the Goblins.

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

So far, we have...

Shifty as Zakzak
Zoomba as Booker since Shifty takes Zakzak

That leaves the others, Iceman and ffoucart, as Doc Featherton and Zindarel. Who would be who?

Of those two I'd prefer Doc.

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

That leaves Iceman as Zindarel then. I posted in the Gameplay thread, you can begin introducing yourself there.

Sounds good; will introduce Doc later today!

I'm cool with that. Will set up profile and such tonight.

Not sure how you'd prefer we deal with fatal weapons; I rolled the normal and crit damage together with the strike in this post.

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

You can put crit damage on a spoiler instead. I assume everyone's weapons are loaded before combat but I would like to note that the dueling pistol has Reload 1, meaning you spend 1 action to reload it.

Yes, I had two different pistols though.

To clarify a bit the action economy of Doc's turn, as I was on mobile earlier:
* Into the Fray let's her draw her 2 weapons and stride as a free action
* 2 actions to shoot once with each pistol
* 1 action to Stride
and she is left with two empty guns at the end of her turn.

Also - I have about 3 hours actual experience with PF2 and if I miss something let me know, I'm aiming to pick up some PbPs as they are great for learning all the rules due to not having to learn 'at the table' and allows me to see the mechanics laid out :)

That makes sense then.

Sure, will do.

Re-reading about Into the Fray, it says that "You can Interact to draw a one-handed ranged weapon and can then Interact to draw a one-handed melee weapon...." (emphasis mine). That means you need to spend another action if you want to draw your other gun unless you have Quick Draw class feat.

Aren't both of my guns melee and range weapons? On my sheet they are both (bayonet for one and reinforced stock for the other).

[I also kinda assumed that the Drifter pregen was given weapons that worked with their assumed fighting style, i.e. combination of melee and guns]

I haven't played with guns or attached weapons before though, so I might certainly have gotten it wrong...

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

Makes sense. Haven't encountered any gunslingers doing that but I will allow it. And it might make me rebuild my level 1 drifter gunslinger that way. It looks cool.

It will look even cooler if she rolls above a 4 :-)

Doc can use either Treat Wounds or Battle Medicine on anyone who wants to (depending on how much time we want to spend healing instead of acting...)

I think we have ten min, while we talk and plan.

Zindarel/Iceman : would you prefer 10 min for Treat Wounds or just Battle Medicine?

Treat Wounds ought to be fine. No need for anything but the basic roll.
Heck, Booker probably could have done it while Doc was treating ZakZak, if we're concerned about time. Not as great of odds, but not bad.

Just to be sure before rerolling: Balance normally leads to not moving on a fail and to falling on a crit fail. Does this apply here?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

Yes, you are right. As long as you don't crit fail in balancing, you can roll the check again until you succeed.

Well, Doc already used her hero point to avoid butchering ZakZak so... this one I can't reroll...

VC - Sydney, Australia

That looks like a 'hit' on the lock - is it a 'complex' lock or a standard lock?

Blast Lock

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

It is just a standard lock. Only one successful check needed.

Upcoming absences!

From Friday 18 Nov - Monday 21 Nov am running Con Voyage 22, a Pathfinder/Starfinder mini-con on the Carnival Splendor Friday through Monday morning, I should be able to update once or twice during that time.

On 05 Dec I get back on to the same cruise ship for a long-earned vacation (first in three years) taking in 10 days of South Pacific joy stopping at Mystery Island, Noumea, Lifou, and Port Vila. I should have SOME internet connection but the ship wifi during sea days is glacially slow, so once again I might miss a day here and there and will mostly check in the early evening. I am not going to lie, after three years of endless call out for natural disasters and covid I could really use the vacation.

Tried to post drinking a potion - thanks for shooting me, guys!
But the site hung for over a minute then gave me 1s. Not an invalid response, sure, but it feels like it crapped itself rather than producing a solid result.
Can I just take average instead?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

Try again, sometimes (or many times) Forums is acting up.

Looks like it cached the atrocious result from the previous attempt. Bleargh.

On one hand, that's a terrible roll. On the other, I'm glad it wasn't the d8-only potion I started with. :D

Just to double check; critting with a melee weapon doesn't auto-kill the shambler?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

Shifty, enjoy the Con Voyage 22.

ffoucart, correct, only those critting from bullets auto-kills the mindless undead. such as zombie shambler.

Boom, yeah baby!

How big is that emanation? I was staying back 40' to avoid another Harm burst...

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area Templates | ◆◇↺

Thanks you asked. It should only be a 30-ft emanation. Only Booker and Zakzak should be affected by the effect. I forgot to adjust the size in the map. Apologies.

In 10min, Doc can Treat Wounds, and use Battle Medicine using her one per day ability to treat someone immune to that action. This would presumably be Booker and ZakZak. I could use Risky Surgery on one of you, and succeed on a 4... but that could kill you on a 1, and injure you on 2-3, so that's only if you want to gamble:-)

I've (just) used both of the potions Booker started with, but I think we also picked up 3 more in the chest with the Piercing Wind.

LG Medium Elf Gunslinger (Way of Sniper) 3 | HP 30/30 | AC 20 | F +7 R +11 W +10 | Perc +10 (Low-Light) | Exploration: avoid notice | Speed 35 ft | Conditions: ---

Three better quality ones, yeah. I used one during the fight

Ok, then maybe the safer medicine checks and we give the potions to our two most injured friends?

LG Medium Elf Gunslinger (Way of Sniper) 3 | HP 30/30 | AC 20 | F +7 R +11 W +10 | Perc +10 (Low-Light) | Exploration: avoid notice | Speed 35 ft | Conditions: ---

ZakZak should definitely drink one of those before this fight, if not both.

We are close to the end of the adventure. Kindly check your info in the sign-up sheet linked above.
