Holmes calls out: What is going on, and where did this fog come from? since everything happened before he emerged from the water.

The Dragon's Demand

Hmm...I never give the fighting from higher ground bonus to flying monsters, just as I would not give it creatures that are attacking from above while swimming or creatures that just happen to be bigger. The operative word for me here is *ground*. Like fighting on top of a hill or staircase. Taking a second look at it I think this is a rules gray area and I could see someone ruling either way. But I'm going to stick with not giving it to flying creatures because that's what I've always done.

On the other hand, I think it's perfectly reasonable for an animal to try to flank. Pretty much any predatory pack animal does it in real life. But either way, it doesn't need either bonus to hit this round.

Relgar's eagle flies out of the mist and attacks the strange looking beast. It manages to connect with its beak, getting a mouthful of quills in the process. The bite does seem to have hurt it at least.

Piercing damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3

Haven't mentioned this, but being in a tree I'm giving Daisal concealment, but not cover.

Concealment, low bad: 1d100 ⇒ 71

Adowyn's arrow connects, hitting the archer hard in the chest. It didn't seem to hurt her as much as it should have though.

Bahram tries to smack the animal with the flat side of his axe but it doesn't land.

Alecto turns her arms into vines and tries to trip the spiky hound, but the heavy four-legged creature doesn't budge. At least creature isn't heavy enough to pull the sorceress off her own feet.

Holmes gets his bearings and slides across the ice towards Jack, who is trying to knock out some kind of big mammal covered in bristles with his axe. He also notices that there is a furred covered humanoid up in a nearby tree with her bow drawn and ready to fire again.

difficult terrain. Forgot. Thanks.

Ah, porcupine doggo down. Time to recoup

With no adjacent threat remaining, Bahram vanishes, and skirts back into the fog for good measure.

I hope there's not an obvious blood trail. There is quite a lot of blood. Is it getting dizzy in here?

Oh, I'm sorry, I missed the fact that the mammal has already fallen. I was guided by the map. Then I will change actions to take out a crossbow and shoot. For now, I will proceed from the fact that +11 (+9 and +2 for the flank) was enough for me not to fall before. But even if she fell, it does not prevent her from shooting a crossbow, as far as I remember. She just won't come any closer.

Alecto walks forward on the move pulling out a crossbow and shoots at the archer.

The Dragon's Demand

Jilla moves up to the tree. This tree is covered in ice, making it a bit more difficult to climb than normal. Jack retreats into the mists to nurse his wounds.

Alecto aims her crossbow at the archer and fires. The bolt hits the enemy in the knee but seems to almost bounce off the creature's skin.

The crit is confirmed

Daisag's eyes narrow when she sees Jilla and suddenly the archer is now focused on the gnome instead! She sneers as she knocks an arrow and releases it in one swift motion. Two arrows strike the gnome in the chest and she falls to the ground with her life spilling out of her on the frozen ground.

Bahram, very badly badly injured, was planning on hiding in the fog to heal himself. Seeing Jilla fall under onslaught of those impossibly deadly arrows, he decides that he needs to do something.

Moving over behind Adowyn, Bahram targets the bow that DAISAG is using so well, and casts grease.

Saving throw needed immediately, and each round he attempts to use the item. Praying he rolls a 1.

Bahram then drops prone.

This time Relgar takes Gregor for another pass. He gasps as he sees Jilla bleeding out.

"Someone care for her. Immediately. I will deal with this monster!"

Adowyn fires two shots at the archer, but she is able to dodge the shots by swinging around the branch gripping it with her bare feet. Leryn barks at the archer who is now hanging upside down off the branch.

Great luck there!
Jack moves out of the mists and casts grease at the archer's bow. He gets a lucky hit and the ball of grease hits the weapon right on the grip. The weapon slips out of the archer's hands and lands in the snow!
