Poison Bringers - Round 1 - concluded
Miriani begins by sending an electrical bolt bouncing from one Burning Mammoth hunter to another. Somehow the first target resists any damage,, and the second only takes a bit.
Kheyji moves to close the distance and support all her allies better, before conjuring a magical shield barrier for protection from those sling bullets.
Red Hunter moves into the scrubby brush, but also fires a sling bullet at the sorcerous cat folk, but it bounces at her feet.
Green Hunter also moves ahead while readying his sling. He launches a bullet at the crouching bard, but it also misses.

Poison Bringers - Round 2 - continued
Diurn again unleashes the dazzling display of lights, colors, and patterns, immersing two of the Burning Mammoths in the magical lights. One is able to avert his gaze with just a flash dazzling him, but the other takes the full brunt and is blinded and stunned.
Hurik launches his second javelin at the enemy shield bearer. The throw is on target, but the foe interposes his shield to absorb some of the damage, still taking a wound from the javelin.
Despite his wound, yellow shield bearer moves into melee with Hurik. He smashes the shield boss into the barbarian's chin, bloodying him a bit. The follow up spear attack is off target, but the Yellow leader ends up with his shield raised again also.
Blue follows his leader, dropping his sling, raising his spear, and advancing with an attack also at Hurik. The spear tip slides into the flank of the dragon-blooded hero, causing a bit more damage.
Hurik ends up taking 15hp dmg from two strikes. The Yellow boss gets a free shield raise if his shield boss scores a hit, so it is raised even though he had 3 actions. Red is dazzled for one round. Green is blinded 1, stunned 1 and dazzled for one minute. Miriani and Kheyji are up next.

Miriani |

Well, one of the two coming forward was stumbling and shaking his head. He didn't seem to be much of a problem. But the other one was just blinking hard. Since the dog wasn't doing it's duty and biting the bastard, she unleashed the northern winds on him.

Poison Bringers- Round 2 - concluded
Kheyji mends all the wounds suffered by Hurik in one simple spell. This seems to dismay the Burning Mammoth fighters as much as her brave words. She then re-conjures a shimmering shield of protection for herself.
Miriani focuses her elemental magic on the Red Hunter, first blasting him with a cone of wind. The enemy hunter takes the blast as well as can be expected, a little blood on his face from the buffeting. After that the sorceress flicks more wind damage at him, scoring a hit. In addition to being dazzled, the warrior looks pretty hurt.
Green Hunter is simply too stunned by Diurn's spell to do anything. He only stands blinking and rubbing at his eyes.
The Red Hunter is hurt, but not out of the fight. He shakes off the spots before his eyes, and moves forward to attack Diurn, dropping his sling, and grabbing a spear instead. The hunter is able to skewer Diurn, wounding him mildly.
End of Round 2
Diurn takes 6hp dmg, and is at 20/26hp. The stunned fighter will be merely dazzled next round. The red hunter will have no effect, if he lives that long.

Diurn commands his dog to rush the melee combatant his is locked in with. Wolf does his best, but the Burning Mammoth hunter avoids his bite.
Hurik takes out his maul, ready to mash. His first strike is at the leader of the group, but that foe turns aside his bow with his shield, resulting in no damage.
The other target is the hunter. With no shield, Hurik is able to hit and damage that foe, crushing the hammer into his clavicle with bone-jarring force.
Wounded, the Blue Hunter moves his hurt arm away from Hurik, but then attacks twic with his spear. Hurik dodges the spear-tip at first, but the follow up attack scores a hit.
Working off his soldier, Yellow leader steps around Hurik, into a flanking place. Then mashes at him with his shield boss, following up with his spear. The knob on the shield breaks into Hurik's back, but the spear thrust is turned aside. Hurik grimaces a little at the pain, but its ultimately nothing major.

Diurn moves to inspire more courage from his allies, but his performance does not linger this time, only lasting for a few seconds. After the song, he sends a sonic attack at the man trying to open the cage carried on the travois. The sonic blast hits Green Hunter, but does not drop him.
Even flanked, the yellow leader is able to deflect the first blow from Hurik with his raised shield, resulting in a miss. The second blow clangs off the shield, which absorbs some of the damage, but still hurts the leader of the enemy tribesmen. His third attack misses.
Blue Hunter stabs at Hurik, who is also flanked, twice. One stab scores a hit, though minor against the barbarian. He then moves away from Hurik, and towards Miriani, though scrub brush holds him up a bit.
Yellow leader turn his attacks on Kheyji, who seems a bit more squishy than Hurik. It slams its shield boss into the cleric and then follow up with a spear thrust. The shield rocks the cleric, bloodying her nose, but the follow up spear misses. The leader then side steps moving away from both foes.

After the hunter opened the cage last round, something awful comes pouring out of captivity. It appears to be a greyish oozing thing that seems to have sticks, stones, bones, and even an odd assorted weapon stuck inside its protoplasmic form. The stench emanating from the thing is gut-wrenching even from this distance. While the hunter freeing the oozing thing was likely trying to have it attack your group, instead he becomes a victim, as a semi-liquid, but definitely foul pseudopod strikes the hunter, who cries out in surprise and pain.

Poison Bringers - Round 4 - concluded
Blue Hunter cringes under the words of Miriani, knowing they have done something abhorrent in releasing the ooze. The hunter then quickly succumbs as her anger is channeled into a furious wind that buffets the man to his demise.
Since Blue went down, I aimed Kheyji's attack at Yellow who is still in range. Hope that's ok.
After taking a hit, Kheyji goes back to flinging fire from a distance, its safer that way. Her fiery attack hits the leader of the tribal warriors, burning the target but not fully immolating it like she had hoped.
The Green Hunter flees from the oozy thing it just released as fast as it can. He ends up next to Diurn after moving, and stabs at the bard once for good measure. "Hope you enjoy the taste of that thing!" he screams when closing in. The spear catches Diurn in a soft place, and pierces his side with a painful wound.

Diurn sings his inspiring song once more, keeping the morale-boosting song going even as he makes a devastating rapier attack against his adjacent foe. The rapier skewers clean through the green foe, poking out his back side. The internal damage is just too great and the last of the hunters succumbs, falling face down into the ground.
On the opposite side of the battle, Hurik advances and attacks the Yellow leader. The first strike is blocked a bit by the foe's shield, but it still slips through crushing the shoulder. The second attack misses as the shield-man leaps to the side.
"You may win this fight, traitor, but I hope you enjoy our gift. We have already poisoned the stream with its foulness, so good luck finding water for your following. If I die, I die with my mission fulfilled."
He then makes a series of attacks against Hurik, but both the shield bash and the spear thrust miss the barbarian. Then the Yellow leader moves away, towards Kheyji, a softer target.
The rime sludge moves in an undulating way over everything in the way, ignoring the difficult terrain of the scrub-brush and closing on the closest living thing, which is Wolf. Hurik finally gets a powerful stroke in on the Yellow Burning Mammoth. The blow shatters the remains of the defender's wooden shield and continues to crush the man's face, smashing a hole where none was before. The leader of the raiding party reels and falls, dead.
The mindless sludge senses two life forces nearby, and slides over horrifically so that it can make lunging attacks at both Wolf and Diurn. The attack smashes into the bard, deflecting only slightly off the magical shield, and crashing into Diurn who cries out as the poison covers him as well.

Poison Bringers - Round 7 - concluded

End of Combat
