Welcome to my run of PFS2 #3-18 Dacilane Academy's Delightful Disaster Recruitment, a scenario for up to six level 1-4 Pathfidner agents.
Please add your information to the >Sign-Up Sheet< and tell us a bit about your character below.
Elfino |
Elfino is an elf that was orphaned at birth and left to be raised by prostitutes in the Puddles of Absalom. Due to the circumstances surrounding his birth, he was born an albino with skin the color and smoothness of polished alabaster and clear red eyes. After a difficult upbringing and a longish career in the criminal underground of Absalom, he decided to turn a new leaf. He (mostly) left behind his illicit past and joined the Pathfinders hoping that it would help him discover who his parents had been.
Elfino has the That's Odd feat that reads in part: When you enter a new location, such as a room or corridor, you immediately notice one thing out of the ordinary. The GM determines what it is, or whether there's nothing reasonable to pick up, skipping obvious clues that can be easily noticed without a check or specifically looking for them.
He also has the Clue In ability. It is a reaction triggered by: Another creature attempts a check to investigate a lead you're pursuing, and which reads in part: You share information with the triggering creature. They gain a circumstance bonus to their check equal to your circumstance bonus to checks investigating your subject from Pursue a Lead. He can use it once per 10 minutes.
Elfino uses the Forensic Medicine methodology and is a Medic. He also has Assurance:Medicine. The result is that his Battle Medicine is better than most. On success (guaranteed at DC 15 due to Assurance) the target recovers additional Hit Points equal to his level (2), and the target becomes temporarily immune for only 1 hour, not 1 day. In addition, the Medic Dedication states that Once per day, you can use Battle Medicine on a creature that's temporarily immune.
Elfino has already experienced the joys of the Dacilane Academy when he was part of a group that investigated The Seven Secrets of Dacilane Academy.
Jyllian Kero |
Jyllian Kero was born to a regular everyday family. Middle child of three, her parents were a teacher and an alchemist. As she grew older, she realized that as good as her life was, there were others who were suffering needlessly. What started out as taking on the local bullies led Jyllian to dedicating her life to Milani. She joined the Pathfinder Society to further those goals.
Jyllian is a very imposing human woman with a crest of short brown hair and a long tail, usually wrapped in leather. She fights with a bastard sword and shield by preference. Mechanically, Jyllian is a Liberator champion. It's hard to grab a hold of her for long (Liberating Step). She's quite good at making you feel guilty for *something* (Intimidating Glare) and she's utterly sure of herself, sometimes to her detriment (Haughty Obstinacy).
She's level 1 on here right now, but will be 2 by the time we play.
Professor Bun Bun, Q. T. E. |
The animated stuffed rabbit, Professor Bun Bun, Q.T.E. was originally created to be a companion and tutor for a little girl. Now that she has grown up, he has gone off on a sabbatical to actually experience the places and events that he once lectured about. Membership in the Pathfinder Society has proven to be an excellent means to that end.
Mechanically he is a level 2 enigma bard with pathfinder agent dedication. He is currently in a pbp game but we should be done by Sept 11. I have a level 3 oracle that could fill a similar role if that should not be the case.
Ignatius Thrune |
Ignatius, second cousin to Her Infernal Majestrix, Queen Abrogail II of the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune has, since birth, been marked as one of the Iron Lord's own destined for the Iron City of Dis upon his death. While Ignatius is extremely loyal to the House of Thrune and their rulership of Cheliax, he strongly believes that Thrune could obtain similar glory without the chains that bind themselves to the devils. He believes it was the result of diabolical schemes and ambitions that drove the Empire to both the heights and depths of colonialism and the late contraction of the empire as the natural consequence of overexpansion.
Seeking to distance himself from his homeland for a time, Ignatius sought refuge in the halls of the Grand Lodge. This respite would not last as Ignatius recently received a missive from his family ordering him to complete his training as a Hellknight. Having recently returned as a newly initiated member of the Order of the Godclaw, chosen by Ignatius for its reverence of non-diabolical deities, he is ready to renew his commission with the Society.
Ignatius is a battle oracle with Hellknight Armiger dedication. The source of his powers are part of the infernal bargain made by his family when he was born. His curse gives him increased martial power at a price. Increased offense but decreased defense. After all, when he dies he is destined to descend to Hell to become one of Dispater's servants, so the Archdevil gives him a bit of a nudge towards the inevitable outcome. Whenever Ignatius casts a cursebound spell you can hear the gates of the Iron City of Dis open and an infernal legion give out a battle cry.
Speaking of cursebound spells, whenever initiative is rolled, Ignatius will react by casting Call to Arms. This will give allies within 20 feet a +2 status bonus to initiative (stacks with the circumstance bonus for scouting) and 1 temporary hit point. These bonuses do not apply to Ignatius since you do not count as your own ally in 2e.
Professor Felicity Featherwit |
Professor Felicity Featherwit is a ganzi halfling woman with dark brown skin, a crest of fiery feathers instead of hair, and vestigial feathered wings. She speaks with a notable Mwangi accent, and has an eclectic vocabulary ranging from esoteric academic jargon to circus slang to oaths in exotic languages. Her professional resume is just as colorful as her appearance and vocabulary: schoolteacher, circus performer, Pathfinder and burglar (though some claim the last two are redundant).
Mechanically, Featherwit is a thief-racket rogue with the juggler dedication, and carries a number of daggers and juggling clubs on her at all times. She is trained in the usual "thief" skills (Acrobatics, Stealth, Thievery) as well as some "polite" skills (Diplomacy, Society) and a number of bookish knowledge skills.
She is 2nd level due to credit from Extinction Curse Book 1, but this is my first time playing her, so I'm still working out all the details of her build and general personality.
Dran'Tilt |
Under his hat, a cigar stuck in the mouth when this one doesn't form some circles of smoke to go up and up, the dwarf has a beautiful red beard. A leather cover his torso but the more interesting thing should be the gun at his belt. Several pouches on his clothes seem to hide something else. He can be quite wise but also quite rude. And has his own way of life. Who are his parents nobody cares. He's a self made dwarf from Alkenstar. He's proud.
Dran'Tilt is a dwarf from Alkenstar with all the explosions which come with this consideration. He's a gunslinger with the way of the spellshot.
On initiative he will interact to draw his pistol as a free action using Energy shot. And Thoughtful allows him to Recall knowledge when he reloads.
Mrs. Crinkle |
Oh, hi dearies! Mrs. Crinkle is a jolly elderly woman who looks a lot like Mrs. Claus (if Mrs. Clause dressed in a bunched-up blood-red afghan). She loves a good drink and a fun time, as well as some lighthearted flirting. Just don't anger her. When she gets mad she loses control, and one of the alchemical experiments from her younger days causes her to kind of "Hulk out".
I'm planning to take the Alchemist dedication when she levels up, so she's smarter than your average barbarian.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Just testing (& editing) my bot text, since I've only played one PBP before this.
In melee, she will draw her rapier and Juggle up to two items with her other hand. If she doesn’t have a flat-footed target available (through either surprise attack or flanking), she will try to Tumble Behind to set that up.
In ranged combat, she will throw a dagger or juggling pin, then Juggle to draw and ready another weapon, and use her final action to either move to a better position (before or after her attack), Juggle another weapon (up to her max of hands +1), or make a second attack. She will use a pin if she needs better range or nonlethal damage.
◆ Tumble Behind (Acrobatics to Tumble Through): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 vs. Reflex DC
◆ Melee: +1 Rapier: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28, Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 (P)
If sneak attack, add: 1d6 ⇒ 5
If crit, add Deadly: 1d8 ⇒ 4
◆ Ranged: Dagger: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2 (P or S); agile, thrown 10 ft.
If sneak attack, add: 1d6 ⇒ 3
◆ Ranged: Juggling Pin: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16, Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 (B); agile, nonlethal, thrown 20 ft.
If sneak attack, add: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Huzzah! The slides are up!
Prof. Featherwit has the Pilgrim's Token feat: "So long as this token is in your possession, when you tie an adversary's initiative roll, you go first." And FWIW, the token is a battered tankard (she follows Cayden Cailean).
If she's doing Avoid Notice for her exploration activity, her initiative is +8 (Stealth) instead of +7.
