Gremvest happily rejoins the team and reports on what he found. Pointing at the concealed corridor, the Vesk Solarian reports, "Hey everybody, I found a quicker route through there if we need to beat feet and hightail it outta here."

Gremvest rejoins the bulk of the team in the grassy area, and starts making his way up the staircase, smoldering devil-chains at the ready.

We need and engineering check follower by two computers checks. Failures could have consequences.

I'm going to add aid another bonuses from Patrick since he can auto aid each roll.

Benoit, waits until everyone is at least 30' away from the servers and then he uses his custom rig to repair the physical damage and hack the servers from 30' away.

His eyes warily looking back and forth, Benoit grips his nova lance securely in this two hands. TEC-9's, sensor array rotates in a 360 degrees arc as it scans for threats while its weapon mounts sweep back and forth, ready to engage any threats.

((Gremvest's token is in a great spot for him. He's happy to take point and start moving forward.... but I have the feeling someone's gonna ask for initiative rolls any second :) ))

A series of red columns line the path into Dortay ven Corbosi’s personal palace, each with a small golden lamp at its base. In the center of the grand entry hall is a pyramid of polished red stone, encrusted with gemstones and topped by a series of mirrors that concentrate sunlight streaming in from a skylight onto a woman dressed in white robes. The woman’s lip curls in disdain as she telepathically shrieks, “Impure defilers! You’ll die for this intrusion!”

"Get the vampire, TEC-9 and I can handle this swarm."

Once everyone moves out of the swarm TEC-9 and Benoit can use their weapons with the line property to attack it. Benoit is also in powered armor so his speed won't be affected by the haste spell, but he will be able to move and full attack. TEC-9, is a construct so it wouldn't be affected by an attack that requires a fortitude save.

Benoit Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Benoit, moves out of the swarm and TEC-9 turns to face it. guarded step

Benoit, then turns to face it and his lightning pistol pivots into the firing position from its mount on his powered armor's shoulder.

TEC-9's disintegrator cannon gives off an intense buzzing noise as it powers up in preparation to unleash a stream of disruptive energy at its target.

I'll take the following action after everyone everyone moves out of the swarm.

Benoit and TEC-9 delay until after Gremvest and Grump:

Anyone firing on the swarm with a ranged weapon gets a +1 bonus from Benoit's coordinated shot feat.

Grump looks for possible options, weighing options before making a decision on how best to act.

The swirling motes of the swarming stones leave Grump with little option other than to get out of the swarm. He moves forward, trying to use the pillars as cover from the swarm & its' mistress atop the pyramid.

(Side note - Grump's Electrostatic Shield would have triggered, dealing 2d6 electricity to all those adjacent. (Sorry Gremvest).)

The electrostatic field only affects those that hit you and since the swarm is not affected by that type of damage it isn't affected either. Benoit, has the same upgrade in his armor too.

Also, how high is the ceiling in this area?

"Thank ya, Patrick!" Gremvest shouts as he feels the power of Haste flow through his augmented limbs. Now with a speed of 80, he runs out of the weird sparkly swarm and straight at Dortay! He closes the distance, and with Haste and Flashing Strikes, makes a full attack while belting out the tune of a Vesk battle hymn, but with rock ballad themes, and new lyrics:

I've had GM's rule differently in the past when it comes to swarms, for these reasons:

1) Although there's no attack roll, the swarm is doing physical damage via contact
2) With many of the swarm elements 'hitting', the response would act as an area effect.
3) And, in this particular case, the swarm is weak to electricity, which the electrostatic field is putting out.

Ultimately though, I'll leave it up to our GM to make that decision.
