students out the door in preparation for visitors, wishing them
well on their exams.
Dr. Mekkisan is a young brenneri, wearing comfortable yet
waterproofed tweed and slacks. He greets his guests warmly.
“Ah, you must be the Starfinders! Perfect timing. Call me Kyefi; I
don’t stand on formality. Have a seat, and a drink.”
He motions to
seats around a table stacked with research materials, a colorful
tea set, and a framed picture of his significant other.

He sets out tea and cookies. "Here's your mission, please take a ship to this raised landing pad. He points to a map. "From there, you can board exploration buggies to travel across the Rindowak nature preserve to the tide pool at your Datch’s coordinates,
where you'll need to obtain a coral key. You can feed hypernutrients to the local corals which will cause them to rapidly grow stalks in a complex pattern and create a key. The patterns for a given pool are always the same, but unique compared to any other coral colony in nearby pools and can therefore be used as cryptographic keys."
He hands several packets of hypernutrients to the party.

"My graduate studies were on the corals. This is SO exciting! I wish I was going with you! But be careful because many pools
are home to territorial beasts."
Kyefi reviews satellite imagery of
Datch’s pool and announces that it’s currently safe.

the grey area is a pool like a foot deep of water. The green "spots" by Option 8 are coral

Sorry it's not exactly clearly given in the scenario. Datch has a cryto key made from the coral. And Dr. Kyefi has a procedure to extract it. To duplicate the procedure you'll need a requires a successful DC 16 Life Science, Sleight of Hand, or relevant Profession check

Perhaps, I misunderstood. If by "going to run", you mean run for the vehicles and drive away since we already have what we came for, it sounds like a good idea to me.
