For us it was just a series of endless skills checks using the same skills. If you didn't have then there wasn't a lot to do. It was just watching the investigator look through books.
The fact that we were encouraged to be as quiet as possible and research in different rooms also meant that there was little to no character interaction.
No idea what you mean by the cat and mouse game. We had a couple fights .

So all in all, just not very engaging for me. I think it relies heavily on a good GM

This is definitely a scenario where it is easy to see a huge variation in player experience based on how well they are build for it and how the GM handles things. Definitely not the "move to a place, kill things, repeat" type of scenario.

How obvious would Guaril Karela's connection to the Sczarni be? As a non-Sczarni Varisian, Stiggur would probably be reluctant to work with him if he suspects it.

There is no roll given to identify him, and the wiki says he keeps a low profile, so I would say that unless Stiggur has some first-hand knowledge (such as having played a scenario involving him previously), he owuld not know. Also, if I am remembering the timeline correctly, by this point the Sczarni are part of the Exchance.
There may be some roleplaying opportunities related to this later in the scenario, though.

This is neat, I'm running Masks of the Living God right now and the PCs are in the exact same position (arriving in Tamran) and have been instructed to visit Reginar and some of the same locations. Synchronicity!

I'll keep it in mind for now. Nothing to the point of the hindering the adventure, but something Stiggur should probably play up if the opportunity arises.
How overlooked are we at the moment? Could we confirm to him that we're pathfinders without alerting the rest of the great hall?

If you want to alert the swashbuckler without anyone else finding out, you will need to make a Bluff or Sleight of Hand check, though it won't be very difficult since you aren't being actively observed.

It looks like a pretty new account--very few posts.
There was a thread recently in the PFS forums about what to do if a player leaves the table for some reason. I've never seen it happen (apart from an in-game death).
Hey guys, I am really sorry for how inactive I've been. I'm going to add some botting instructions to my profile, but I do intend on continuing and being active.
I am struggling with the forums on mobile, I find it a bit harder to engage with the format and also not getting notifications doesn't help. I should be able to check each evening though.

@cmlobue - How long ago did you DM them? Was it last week?
With regards to blank profiles - it's obvious to me that people who've been on the forums for longer are obviously more likely to stay engaged.
I can only speak for myself in that I've not enjoyed using the forum format. The syntax is clunky and I have to explicitly check the website rather than get notifications on my phone like discord does. I get that some people prefer it, but it's not for me.
