He then becomes visible himself as he works through the incantation necessary to hurl fire. A small bead of flame shoots into the room, stopping twenty feet away from Caelius before exploding in burning fire.

Baghotir sees an open door and lunges ahead. There are more of them than the party - but he presses into the hole none the less! He's worried they'll close the door and maybe bar it with a dead body or heavy weapon and they'd be back where they started.
Once he gets there he casts Spirit Guardians to slow the advance of the enemy and wound those who do! Swirling celestials dance around him looking for targets. Naturally, he designates the targets as allies and safe from the celestial army.

Belwick throws a tiny ball of fire into the center of the room and there is an explosion! A wall of flame washes up and Caelius feels the heat wash over him. When the fire and dust clears, 7 Sahuagin warriors are dead, the Coral Smashers are both seriously wounded, and both champions have been knocked about from the explosion, though one looks worse off than the other. Gold failed the save and is more wounded than Green
There is no possible way the noise from the fireball escaped notice. The Base is now, "On Alert".

The party moves south, and very quickly sees the armory they had discovered before. This time, however, the room is packed with Sahuagin warriors arming themselves from the weapon racks in the south wall, while their Champion commander commands them to take formation.
The fortress is on alert, and they are expecting, "company", even if half their number is still arming themselves. You turn the corner and the Champion points at you with his spear and bellows a battle cry!

Caelius moves to the vanguard, and Alisanne shoots and misses.
Sahuagin voices pick up and you hear a LOT of movement and shouts of surprise and alarm from the other side of this short hallway. Caelius and Baghotir see a number of Sahuagin warriors gather weapons and look north. One dies, screaming as Spirit Guardians rip through it. The nearby warriors take more wounds. Two more--not sure what they're looking at--charge in only to be seriously wounded by the Guardians. Another, thinking he can cautiously wade in and dodge the strange spectres, learns he is quite mistaken and is nearly killed by them.
More Sahuagin gather and seem unsure about how to approach. One deep commanding voice answers from somewhere ahead and they begin to form up.

Caelius takes the Coral Smasher's Head!
The Sahuagin warriors surge forward, clearly afraid of the Spirit Guardians but more afraid of the deep Sahuagin voice--their commander--behind them. They are slowed and chewed up by the guardians and only one gets far enough in to attack anyone.
