I've read the rules for Support and Test (p 106-108 of SWADE) and want to use Spellcasting to Test - is that allowed? I was thinking of somethin like flare or daze, comnjuring a small blast of hellfire that doesn't do any harm but leaves them Vulnaerable as tehy flinch away from it (p. 100 of SWADE).
"Oh my god, she killed Kenny! You'll pay for that, you little b%%!~!"
I really did laugh out loud at that :D

Just a quick courtesy call; I was yearning for some D&D5e, but will be damned before I "audition" for a spot in someone else's game, so I went and created my own. Recruitment is on a first come, first served basis, as it was with this campaign, so you are welcome to join if you are interested/quick enough. I will continue to run this game also, but now my attention will be divided between the two campaigns, so my posting frequency may slow down a bit, which might actually be a blessing for some of you. :D

Clicked the link, read it, got excited but then thought.. .well, i'm signed up for a few extra games with the online convention starting soon. I think one more might be a bit too much...
But it sounds like a lot of fun!

Dealing with Ranged attackers behind Cover :
Once we've gotten rid of the melee fighters, the best thing to do is to go on Hold when your Action comes up. Then when the crossbowmen come out of Cover to fire, interrupt them. This unfortunately requires an opposed Athletics roll, so you might not go first. But if you do, then they aren't in Cover when you attack them (presumably with a Ranged weapon).
It used to be an opposed Agility roll, which I much prefer to Athletics, since you might have a high Agility (for Parry, etc.), but if you didn't put any points into Athletics, you'll never succeed on the interrupt.
I have actually house-ruled out the opposed roll altogether, since going on Hold is a sacrifice, and the opposed roll means you might have made that sacrifice for nothing (especially now that it's Athletics).

Or, as mikeawmids just said in Gameplay, we can just run toward them, and if we can reach them in 1 round, we can attack them with our hand weapons. If they try to shoot at us, it'll be against our Parry instead of the usual, lower Target Number (TN) of 4.
Just a thought : as a GM, I require everyone (including myself) to always re-roll an Ace even if the first Ace is enough to be a success, until the Acing stops. This is to prevent a subsequent high re-roll to be used in another action on the same post.
Since Dom is out of combat, he triggers the sniper on Hold;
Technically, he and Dom should have made opposed Athletics rolls, and if the sniper wins, then he gets to act. Or are you using house rules?

If you mean the d8/d6 roll to attack when I was rolling for MWG; Yeah, I overlooked the exploding d6 at the time, but since the exploding d8 had already resulted in a raise, and I had rolled dmg, I decided not to revist/edit post, as that would have changed every subsequent roll also.
I did roll opposed Athletics when the tiefling sniper first went on Hold, it was a 13 or something really high. In hindsight, maybe I should have declared action, then waited for Dom to make opposed roll, but that would have slowed things down. If the shot had hit, I would have let Dom roll Athletics retroactively to interrupt/avoid attack, but since the shot missed, it doesn't really matter (at least IMO).
I think this is one of those instances where I'll have to distort RaW a bit, to facilitate PbP gameplay.
But if it ever feels like I have messed something up, or acted unfairly, then plz call it out here and I will do my best to make amends. :)

mikeawmids - no problem sacrificing rules for PbP smoothness. And I understand that changing an early roll sequence will mess up all the following ones.
I Googled the SW forums, and holding a ranged weapon does *not* make you an Unarmed Defender.
I always forget that Running is considered an "Action" (since regular Movement is Free), so the MAP applies, sorry.

Yes, thsi game is running really smoothly - my one thought when I read the SWADE rules is that there's a lot of "interrupted" gameplay - do you wait for teh player to soak the wounds before moving on, what happens with opposed rolls and so on, but you're making it work :)
Sory for delay in posting, RL cauthg up with me but I'm still around.

I have healed her so that doesn't really matter.

I did not see we got one. If I took the Healer Edge it says I get +2 to magical Healing checks. Would that be on the Spellcasting check to succeed at the Heal spell?

Ok, so I raise my Spirit to d8 to meet the prereqs for Healer.

The Brawny edge requires Str/Vig d6 and gives you +1 T and you treat your strength as one die type higher when determining encumbrance and minimum strength for armor, weapons and equipment. Its a pretty awesome edge that would also let you use the axe and be harder to bring down.

Hmmm... Good catch. I was stuck on improving some skills but maybe i'll go that route this time. Have some friends coming over soon and have to start some more cooking but will think about it. More than likely i'll go this route.
Thanks!Dominic Artu |

Well. Got busy yesterday working in the yard getting the soon to be expanded garden started so didn't look into this anymore. However, I think I will go with Brawny instead of the skill increases. Will change it here later when I have a few minutes to focus on it...

Retcon:
After the battle Dom swings the axe around a few times and realizes his raised physical activity the last few months has actually put some muscles on his frame.
Taking the Brawny Edge.
Thanks for the advice! :)
A question for the GM since I don't see it after a quick search. Does a +1 weapon just give +1 damage or does it add to the attack roll at all?

Hello all. Sorry for long absence. I had an accident at work that kinda' messed up my hands. I can still use them, which is awesome, but long posts for PbP are beyond me at the moment. Regrettably, I must put this game on hiatus. Apologies to everyone who had invested in the campaign amd their characters. It was a joy and a privilege to game with you!

Take care of yourself and if you feel like picking up the game again when your better I will be around.
