Moken Troll |
"Let's see if it fits!"
Approaching his employer, a shortish gnome dressed in a fashionable suit sporting a black wooden cane hands the parcel over, rocking back in his heels to make his assessment, examining his fingernails momentarily before, having decided they are satisfactory, tucking his arms behind his back, whirling the cane playfully once before deftly stabbing it into the ground.
"Why - I might even say it lends you are more handsome bearing!"
Griss Thisslethorn |
"I hope it is not too late to join."
A clearly Ulfen man in well crafted Ulfen attire walks in.
"My name is Griss, Griss Thisslethorn if you must be more formal."
While Griss is dressed in an Ulfen style, there are traces of distinctly Talden style here and there in his outfit.
Moken Troll |
"Why I must!" the dapper gnome answers the question "And I believe you are early, in fact" tipping his top hat which twirls with a neat flourish, a short bouncy bow conveys the salutation "and quite welcome. My business associate here" he points to the frowning dwarf looking quite ridiculous in an oversized shirt that squeezes his arms, has sleeves tubing well past his hands, and lowerhalf falling well below his knees to look more like a gown "has come to know me by my moniker "Little Wekk" which is how I present myself to you now" another deft motion spins the hat upwards over his arms and landing back on his head, which he tilts with an upward toss of his cane for effect "our arrangement, of course, of mutual benefaction."
"Griss Thisslethorn - a strong name for a strong man" the flattery is butter smooth "And yet, I could almost remember knowing a cousin by that same surname - you haven't any fey relatives have you?" he looks the ulfen up and down, trying to "place" the name by some outward tell...
Griss Thisslethorn |
The large Ulfen man laughs. "Not that I or my kin are aware, but given that it is the fey, it wouldn't truely suprise me."
Griss settles down
"My history is that I am Ulfen of long line of Ulfen Guard. Meet a nice Taldan Noble lady, so I used the Society to become a guard himself." Griss looks down for a moment. "She didn't survive Grand Prince Stavian's coop." Griss the looks up with a happier smirk on his face. "She took down four of her attackers with nothing more than a couple of knitting needles. What a glorious woman she was."
Shaking himself a bit, the Ulfen man continues. "Went to Land for a while to reconnect, and decided when I got back to rejoin the Society to stay out of way until the Guard reforms."
PS GM, could I please know how you want my action bar to look?
GM Blake |
Good morning everyone.
Here is the Sign Up for this table. It will assist me in generating your Chronicles and getting them to you promptly.
If you have never used RPG Chronicles, know that it does not require an account to enter your data and that nobody can see your e-mail address except me.
Thank you.
GM Blake |
Please fill out the linked macro sheet for Initiatives and Secret rolls:
This will help to speed up the game.
Zhao Kang |
Hi everyone! Thanks GM for the nudge. Forgot to dot here and lost track. :P
When are we starting?
GM Blake |
House GM should make the first post around 6 PM CST (8.5 hours from now).
A brief mustering period with quick preparation tasks will follow (it usually lasts 2 days give or take). These tasks can provide you small benefits during the scenario. There's no penalty for failure/critical failure, so no harm in trying. Highest roll determines result. I'll explain better (hopefully) with the game post.
GM Blake |
Select your Pathfinder Training item, your reward from Magical Investigations, and your reward from Supplies as temporary items.
Knab "The Knave" |
□ Moderate Healing Potion
□ +1 circumstance bonus to your next Fortitude save
□ Tiger Menuki (affixed to Clan Dagger)
□ +2 circumstance bonus to your next Will save
□ +1 circumstance to Aid skill check or attack roll
□ Moderate Anitplague
Horatio Phillipton |
Phillipton is a field commissioned officer.
I'll be taking a scroll of heal and a moderate antidote.
As a matter of setting expectations, Phillipton is quite good at treating wounds but he does not have Battle Medicine. Rather, he has a divine font.
Griss Thisslethorn |
Faction Flag: Horizon Hunters
School: Swords
School Consumable: Lesser Healing Potion
Boons of Note:
In moments of true heroism, you can always move to where the action is. When you spend a Hero Point to reroll a check, you
also gain a +10-foot status bonus to your Speed until the end of your next turn. After you spend a Hero Point to avoid death, you
can also Stand as a free action when you next become conscious.
Word of your skill and expertise is spreading, and you find that increasingly prestigious clients are prepared to pay for your
services. When using Downtime to Earn Income, you can choose to attempt a task of your level.
By traveling so widely, you have developed an intuitive talent for using esoteric techniques. Once per adventure, you can activate this boon as a free action to apply these techniques, gaining a +1 circumstance bonus to either all of your attack rolls or all of your skill checks for 1 round.
Your exposure to the stormy power of the Scale of the Spurned Tempest has inured you to the elements to a small degree. While this boon is slotted, you gain cold resistance 1 and electricity resistance 1.
The trek from Isger to Molthune taught you tricks for navigating treacherously steep terrain. While this boon is slotted, you treat mountainous terrain and other steep slopes as difficult terrain, rather than as greater difficult terrain.
You are the rightful master of the infernal keep known as Diggen’s Rest. Once per adventure, you can use the following reaction.
Infernal Detonations (reaction) Trigger A creature within 30 feet of you targets you or an ally with an attack; Effect The creature takes fire damage equal to 1d6 + your level (basic Reflex save). The DC of the Reflex save is equal to your spell DC or your class DC, whichever is higher.
Griss also has an engraved wayfinder and numerous access and story event boons which I don't think are going to apply here.
Magical Investigation: Emerald Grasshopper.
Supplies: Moderate Antiplaque
GM Blake |
I find it helpful to have resistances in your header (Active Conditions or other place), because I assure you that I will not remember this post when the time comes. :)
GM Blake |
FYI: There are some narrative effects in this Special that may look look like mechanical effects sometimes, but they're just for flavor. I will try to be specific with the weirdness you're about to experience is due to an actual mechanical effect that you might have a counter and not just me reskinning a normal miss or something.

We may or may not be getting a brand new player joining with a pregen. If you guys could 1) help me make them welcome and 2) guide them with the rules as needed, it would sure help me out to focus on the setting and action.
Seelah Dudith |

Hi there, I just came from a different table. I'm rolling with my girl Seelah, I'll post in gameplay soon just give me a sec to read everyone else's posts so I can get a lay of the land.
Also I think I need to specify who get's credit for this adventure and I'd like it to go to my barbarian Ison
Seelah Dudith |
Nice to meet you Seelah. Surprisingly, I don't think Griss has ever meet her.
Well it will be a pleasure to slap some monsters around with you Griss.
Pip Hip Hooray |
Thanks for welcoming Dudith! Dudith, when you get a chance, you may also want to complete your sign-in on the official NostalgiaCon sign-in sheet. I just put in your player name so that no one else goes looking for Blake's empty seat.
Other things to fill out:
Okay, I am now exiting stage left. Have a good game!
Hmm... a Pregen |
One more thing for Dudith:
I suggest using a non-OrgPlay alias for your pregen rather than your -2004 character (which you are currently posting as.) If you sign in to your account settings, you can create another alias that is not tied to OrgPlay.
OrgPlay characters have green names. Other aliases (like this one) have red ones.
If you post 10 times with your official -2004 character, it would get stuck with the name "Seelah Dudith." So I would name the other Alias "Pregen Dudith" so that you can use it whenever you need a pregen.
GM Blake |
Chronicle sign up instructions and macro link in this post and the one below it.
Also, if you haven't completed the RPGChronicle, please click the link above to go to the post with the link to the Chronicle and fill out your details (this is where you'd assign credit, Dudith).
Dudith, click on the Macros link and fill it out so I can bot Initiatives and any secret checks you'd like me to roll for you.

The House hasn't moved us forward (EDIT: looks like you've got ~1 hour/anytime between GM Dennis moves us to Part 1), so you can still fish for a critical success on the tasks. If you're pressed for time, you can just roll 6d20. I don't think Seelah will crit on anything but a natural 20.
Also, re-characters, don't delete the 2004. Just rename it when you're ready to use it.
You can select a reward from Magical Investigations and Supplies as well.

I have added a slide for the scenario bonuses and pathfinder training items (EDIT: please go complete it).
I double checked and sadly, none of Seelah's 19s were in the few skills she has +11.
I'm in the midst of putting kids to bed, but I will move you to the entry chamber once I'm finished with them.
Pip Hip Hooray |
Ok I think I've done everything feel free to double check that it all makes sense. I can't seem to create a new alias or delete Seelah so I'm sure what to do about that.
Edit: Nevermind I figured it out. Still can't delete my 2004 character, I haven't made 10 posts or anything.
You made a post with your -2004 so you cannot delete it. (Believe me, this is a good thing because otherwise you would never get a -2004 character again. The next character would be -2005, and if you are a bit on the obsessive side it would always bother you that the numbers skip.)
You can rename Seelah Dudith in Account Settings when it comes time to make your fourth character for PFS because it has less than ten posts on it. So rename it to what you want!
Hmm
PS You are doing great so far at figuring things out! Hope the special goes well for you!
Pip Hip Hooray |
You're welcome. I'm volunteering in my old region today because some folks are out sick and others have had their work swallow them. I thought I would lend a hand where needed. Glad I could help!
Hmm
GM Blake |
I've added MAPS to the campaign header. You're not on the map quite yet, but feel free to rearrange your marching order as you'd like.

A few rulings:
@ Dudith: A character does not gain a reaction until they gain their actions at the beginning of their turn in initiative. There are a few exceptions, the Battle Oracle's focus spell that triggers on "You are about to roll initiative" comes to mind quickest. However, you wouldn't be able to use Retributive Strike when Johnny was attacked. You do still have it available to you for the bear's next attack.
@ Johnny: Correct. Escape has the Attack trait so invokes MAP on further actions with the Attack trait.
Worse, that 27 was 1 too low to escape, so you're still grabbed.

@ rainzax: Battle Medicine works fine on Dhampirs unless I've missed something.
@ all: FYI - I try to give you proactive/useful information on successful Recall Knowledges (e.g., I won't tell you a creature has no resistances if it has no resistances, I'll tell you something, even if it's just lowest save or AC). Interpret what I give you on Recall Knowledge checks with that in mind and make of it what you will.

Strike if I'm allowed to do that. Sorry.
You've stumbled upon a function of the Paizo boards. Your randomization seeds are determined within a given thread after every post--and last until the servers reset or something, so for days long intervals. This is why I require rolls in order, especially pending saves.
Your current array is appropriate and will stand. It's also more beneficial to you this time.

Understood, thank you.
GM Blake |
Err, can I hit 3?
Sadly, no. #3, #4, and #5 are at the bottom of the 25 ft deep pit... with Johnny. You can trade in your last Strike for an earlier stride to get to #1.
GM Blake |
You could also jump into the pit and fall, stand up, and attack #3.
If you do that, let me know if you have any feats/features that modify fall damage (on top of it being low gravity).
