Smoke churns and wheels spin for traction, the race is on! Meat Wagon barrels around the corner on two wheels, ◆◆ closing the distance quickly. They launch another chunk of iron slag at the woman's head.

Vardarel quickly moves to where he can see the fleeing leader between the buildings and then uses his spell to give them even more of a headache.

The woman rolls away from Meat Wagon's payload, but Vardarel is quick on the draw. "You probably trained those bunnies to... run..." She gets a headache and falls unconscious on the dirt road.

Professor Bun Bun shakes his head sadly and turns to Bun Helsing. "That poor woman. She thinkth we're actual rabbitth."

Bun nods sadly. "Thad how thome people aren't educated. But you look injured, Profethor. Let me look at that." He hops to his hero to patch him up.

Vardarel says “We might want to get off the streets.” as he goes over and picks up the unconscious body of the woman with the blue scarf.

“Anyone have an idea where we might lay low for a short time?”

Nicole will spend time collecting materials to replenish her stock. She needs 20 minutes to have a full set of six versatile vials.

Stitch turns around to see Vardarel shoot down the leader with 'mind bullets'. "You're a walking headache aren't you? Almost as much as Feathers was but with better aim." Stitch snorts, hopping down off his chariot and checking the red woman for a pulse.

"Help me get her bulky butt up on Meat and we'll get out of sight." She rummages through her pockets at least, eyeing up her gear as he goes.

Dwarf sized I'd have been fine, but Goblin sized I don't think I can really heft a human up. Will roll to stabilize her if needed, then search.

Once they've got a bit of time Stitch will reset Meat Wagon's stability (10mins) before doing medicine on himself.

No one really bats an eye to the open violence. As long as it didn't spill into their home they don't care.

Each woman carried a gauntlet, a sling with 10 bullets, and a set of studded leather armor. Stitch also notices a pouch full of low-quality amethyst, it must be profits from a recent score.

Bun Helsing has no trouble patching up some of Professor Bun Bun's wounds.

A collapsed building provides some cover from potential prying eyes. You drag the woman with the Blue scarf behind a wall and take a moment to recuperate.

What's next? Heal up fully? Revive and interrogate? Sounds like Nicole wanted 20 minutes.

Vardarel meditates for ten minutes as his wounds slowly close.
Refocus for Focus Point, Pearly White Spindle takes care of the healing.

Looking down at the captured ambushers, he says “Do we bother to separate them when interrogating them? Which should we wake first?”

"How about we start with that Red Hooded one." Nicole suggests as she continues to collect while they move them to the building.

"She's chatty, she might know many things." she adds.

"Huh? What..." The woman's Red Hood slips off as she sees the Pathfinders standing over her. She feels her bindings and sighs. "If you're going to kill me, hurry up already and get it over with."

You'll want Diplomacy or Intimidation to get some information out of her.

Stitch waits to let the nice folks try to convince Red to talk before he brings in Meat Wagon. "Let me know when its our turn." Stitch works to clean up his bandages, inspecting Bun's work.

"Not bad, but with big risks you get bigger rewards." He pulls out a scalpel and twirls the blade.

Nicole's eyes widen as she sees Stitch pull out his scalpel, as if preparing for surgery. "Never mind him, he's just fond of twirling blades. And no one is going to kill anyone. We want information." she says with a trying-her-best-to-be-cool smile, her effort to convince the Red Hooded woman to talk.

The woman sighs. "Mother Forsythe sent us to look for newcomers who are asking around for other newcomers. She has a... spy, you can't see it. But she's always roving around Hinji. We patrol Snake Tails, looking for recruits and suspects."

She shudders at Bun Bun and Helsing. "That's all I know about this. I want to get out of here. I've heard Tian Xia was beautiful this time of year. If Mother Forsythe learns I spoke to you, I'll be dead- or worse."

"Come on, let me out already."

"Oh this blade? Ya its for medical purposes only. A good surgeon always has one on hand." Stitch listens for lies and half truths from the woman, not eager to take things to another level.

"A spy you can't see? Like an invisible being?"

"I don't know. I sometimes hear somebody laughing nearby Mother. She knows way more than I thought she could. She heard about a warehouse for the Sons of the Tear, it was so well hidden they didn't bother guarding it. We made a lot of money that day."

"I'd say we let you go, providing you describe this 'Mother' of yours. And don't think about feeding us any bad info or I'll have Meat Wagon chase you down and mulch you down to nothing!"

Meat Wagon pulses his mower blades with way too much excitement.

"Sure. She likes wearing purple. Scary as a hungry wolf in the middle of the night. Her eyes have mismatched colors." She gives a nervous side eye to Bun Helsing and the Professor.

"That's all I know, I promise! Don't eat my crops! Please!" The woman squirms uncontrollably as Bun Helsing stares her down. This bunny is hungry for blood, and she can't brave to look at him.

Professor Bun Bun shakes his head in disbelief and steps back. Unwilling to torment to disturbed woman further.

“I would be willing to let her go, but it would be nice to know where to find this woman. If we find her, we can prevent any more injuries.”

Stitch looks a bit confused at Bun, mostly trying to understand just what he's saying. He does nod in agreement with Vardarel though before hollering at Meat Wagon. "Enough with the blades, we get it, we get it!"

"W-well, I don't know how to find her. She tells us where to meet her." The woman stammers as she overhears Vardarel. "Well, there's a bath house not far from here, that's the last time I met her. She said to patrol Snake Tails."

Bun Helsing shifts his weight slightly and the woman twitches. "Please let me go..."

"Cropth? What cropth?" he asks, bewildered. He, too, steps back, wondering what this woman is saying. He turns to the Professor and shrugs.

"We better check that place and meet this Mother Forsythe. I am just worried that the spy is among us without us knowing it, and our plans be foiled." Nicole suggests.

"Will you be alright if you go on your way?" she turns to the captive.

Vardarel puts his bow away and sorts through the scrolls he has, keeping one in hand.

Nodding towards the other captured woman, he says “We should give them the same options to run for it.”

He nods indicating he is ready. If no one else releases the women before we leave, he will.

"She did try to murder us in a back alley with her cronies. She's got a better chance leaving than sticking about here." Stitch puts his scalpel away and waves her off, ready for more interesting things.

"Meaty come heal me up, we got work to do."

A few unstable sparks fly but the healing is successful. "Ugh, one day I'll get that under control. Give me ten minutes to reset."

Freed of her bonds, the woman with the Red Hood keeps her eyes affixed on Bun Helsing and the Professor as she slowly backs off.

The woman with the Blue Scarf is torn between fleeing to safety and glomping the poppets. Eventually self-preservation wins and she apologizes to them as she runs off, tears in her eyes.

The other woman's Green Greaves click as she peers at Stitch and Meat Wagon. She wish she had met them in a less violent capacity, she really wanted to check out the detailing on Meat Wagon's ride. Alas, she has a boat to catch.

After patching up your wounds you decide the fastest way to the bath house is past the docks where the women fled. Once ready you head forth.

Near the docks you see see a the slightly bloated and heavily bruised corpse of an elven woman, saltwater coursing through her lifeless body. Her physical description matches Selia, one of the missing Pathfinders. You see her ruined spell book as well as a journal titled My Search for Cheliax’s Truth. Her face is twisted in pure horror.

Footprints in the sand lead to a nearby sewer grate, unlocked and swinging slightly against the wind.

Vardarel gets the body bag and scroll ready for Selia. He waits for Stitch to verify she is dead and look for any clues before using the scroll to preserve her body and putting it in the bag. He also puts the spell book and journal in there.

Then he gets his own scroll ready again.

"Oh ya, that's a dead body for sure.. maybe we should have kept those Ladies in tow a bit longer, they could have been responsible for this." He looks down at the medium sized corpse and then his small sized self..

"Gonna need some help getting that thing up on the dock. Hopefully it doesn't fall apart." He stifles a small gag, stowing his pistol on Meat Wagon's dash before climbing down to get wet.

"Beaten to death, fits." He helps the others hoist the body up to the dock and into the body bag.

Bun shakes his head sadly. "Yeth, unfortunately. Thhe wath beaten to death."

After handling Selia's body, you follow the footprints into the sewers.

Most of the sewer passages are too narrow to make a reasonable path—the sewers weren’t built for creatures to traverse them. Bun Helsing and the Professor could fit through more passages, but they are quite smelly. You have a few possible paths to choose from, but you must figure out the path that was likely used by the killers.

Each Player can attempt one skill check from the following list.:

- Ascertain the most likely path for creatures to take through the sewers with a Survival check or an easier Architecture Lore or Scouting Lore check.

- Safely and efficiently open locked and rusted sewer gates with Athletics or Thievery check or an easier Engineering Lore check.

- Find ways to travel on pipes and platforms elevated away from the sewage with Acrobatics check or an easier Sewer Lore or Underground Lore check.

"Way back before I picked up more honest work I was a traveling doctor. Folks that hid out in places like this paid good coin to get patched up." Stitch reminisces as he looks for the most likely route.

"Oh my..." Nicole is too stunned to speak further on what happened to one of the missing Pathfinders. Thankfully, Vardarel is quick to do what must be done to the body.

Following the tracks, Nicole chooses to squeeze herself inside smelly pipes of the sewers.
