I don't think Quests give school items anymore... at least that's what I was told...
Roark Thunderbird

I was told the change was made in S3. Something about the wording in the Org Play Guide. I also remember arguing with Fi over it :)

You are correct, no consumables for quests.
This states they are for scenarios and this makes it clear we are in Society Mode. Reading both sections, I agree that Quests give no consumables.

Hey, if I don't get my extra downtime then no free potions for you all either *raspberry*
Not even for your best pal Roark?

Work was too busy for posting Sun/Mon, then I was sick Tues/Weds, then our power was out for a while this morning. Back and all caught up on things now, though!

Writing is not my forte, especially anything as complicated as poetry. If I need to put up something then I'll just snag something and give credit!

I was thinking up on the spot limericks about goats, but the dice rolled the chance away.

Man, that poem turned out well. If only rhyming poetry weren't so very out of fashion these days, I'd try to publish it.
Maybe sit on it until it comes back into fashion again? It'll happen at some point!

When it comes to songs and poetry, same. Occasionally I hit a creative spark and can come up with something original but usually it's just quicker for me to pick a song or something I like and that fits the bill :)

Sorry for the delay -- big typhoon in the area and I lost power last night.
Roark Thunderbird

Got power back early this morning. So far it's just a lot of rain. I don't think the typhoon will directly hit my area

Fran, I took a Reactive Strike from Dura. So she doesn't have her reaction this round. If you want to Stride away from her, now's your chance.
Fran Rosemont
|
^Yeah, it would've happened last round so her reaction is reset for this one, unfortunately.
Bella Sidare
|
Oh right, when she crit me... Oof.
Clover Nettlesoup
|
I fixed that. :)
I would have liked to heal Nicole and get her back into the fight, but keeping you two on Dura seemed the best bet here.
Also, GM, congratulations on boxing us in. There was nowhere safe to run from Rhenei. So I tripped her as a desperation move to buy time.
Bella Sidare
|
Thank you, Clover. As you said, I did want Nicole healed, but someone needs to keep Dura busy. I'm hoping Will is her weakest save, but Bella can't exploit that yet.
Clover Nettlesoup

Man, we're in deep trouble here. Two of them have Attack of Opportunity, and two of our people are down.
Bella Sidare
|
It may be worth performing a 3 action burst of healing, even if it heals our foes.
Clover Nettlesoup
|
My problem is Halran, who has been shown to have Attack of Opportunity. I think that right now (and this is going to sound strange, but bear with me) the priority is Rhenei.
Rhenei heals other folks and has done absurd amount of damage. She's currently sickened and prone. Get rid of her. We also have to move out of the death box that we are in. We need to be mobile and use that on them.
But if someone else wants to trigger Halran, then I'll heal. Unfortunately, triggering Halran is challenging because he hits so hard.
Bella Sidare
|
Harlan also has Reactive Strike? Oh, I've been focused on Dura. I wanted to fight Rhenei but then Dura hit Khiari so hard I had to respond.
I hope this is a "best 2 out of 3" contest (where we won the first two encounters) and not a golden snitch contest (where only the last encounter matters), because it looks like we're fighting at level or above opponents - a very difficult fight.

The attack bonuses should be a hint, but you are fighting Determined Dura, Determined Halran, Thisnabel and Rhenei.
If the group had more challenge points, there are Determined versions of the other two.
Also, no one has Reactive Strike. That doesn’t come into existence until August 3rd and still wouldn’t exist for most until November. :P
Bella Sidare
|
Oh you.
I almost typed "Reactive Strike of Opportunity" in another game but decided against it. I did wind up making an in-character joke about not calling a fiend "evil", though.

Let's see if I did something useful this round.. 2 more Stitch actions to decide on... Has either of those two used a reaction since their last turn?
AKA would I be triggering 2 AOOs with medicine checks?
Clover Nettlesoup
|
Dura and Halran just acted. When means... They both have attack of opportunity again.
So yay?
Bella Sidare
|
I think you're in crit city, my friend.
Good to know this is the enhanced version of Dura - I did notice that Striking Dueling Sword she had sliced me with.
Fran Rosemont
|
^No, I don't have any means to get back up and running under my own power.
*edit* That said, this is making a good case for picking up the 'Independent' familiar ability for Mister Midnight in the future...
Stitch Steeltoe
|
If I wasn't going to get ginsu'd I'd have BM'd you and myself instead of that hail mary feint and clubbing. Maybe that bird of ours can peck Dura's eyes out or something...
Stitch Steeltoe

Looking at botting possibilities. Frightened is supposed to go down one step each round, right? So Roark isn't frightened anymore?
Ya I believe Roark was hit with that crit intimidate right off the go, he's very sensitive to his plumage for some reason... He should be clear of the frightened.
Botting him sounds like a good plan with that typhoon he could be without power, etc. Hopefully you're dice are kinder to us than his have been!

So I healed myself in hopes of surviving Halran's attack of opportunity. If he does not crit against me, I will have revived Fran and gotten another player on the board, while triggering Halran's AoO so that Fran can get away and cast.
If he doesn't crit me.
Bella Sidare
|
Fingers crossed. Nothing more like a tough battle to keep you awake.
Hopefully Roark can help keep Dura distracted. Meat Wagon can drive over Rhenei while Stitch can go full medic. Hopefully.
Bella Sidare
|
Botted. Time to see Dura.
Roark Thunderbird
|
who botted me? Roark already had panache... and we crossed... I actually forgot to add my own precision damage.

I will use Roark”s post.
Sorry, I had asked someone to Bot you Roark because enough time had passed.
No worries. Just add 2 to the damage if I did hit.

Would Fran have been able to act before Halran, and thus be able to move out of there before he got his attack of opportunity back? That was part of my hope was that she would get her turn, stand up and get out before Halran had a chance to act.
