Stitch is only trained in deception, and poorly so I'll let you guys talk!
*As far as size rules go I'll do some more hunting tonight when I get home to my PHB hard copy for easy flipping. I always assumed they kept a large long, but perhaps not. Life would have been easier if Stitch was a small race like goblin or gnome, having a large mount is mostly just a hindrance.

Clover got a successful Diplomacy at which point the creature started talking with the group.
Ah, good to know those are possibilities. I'm just rolling poorly.

Don't worry Roark, Mister Midnight will probably take you up on the shoulder ride offer at some point ;)

Isn't Overdrive has once per round frequency? Though under its Special it says When under the effects of Overdrive, you can still use the Overdrive action. I understand it like I can use the action again but for another round to make something like Success into Critical Success.

Hey! Mister Midnight won't hurt me! More than I can say for something with fumes that will play havoc on my feathers!

As I was logging in I just had that thought and am currently double checking. I haven't ever had the opportunity to use it twice in a combat before, but I remember you can.. Let's see the wording...
Oh there it is, never noticed that line under the action!
'Frequency once per round' Boo!
| GM Bret |
Bella, how did you unmanifest your Eidolon in a single action?
My understanding is that it normally takes three actions based on “If your eidolon was already manifested, you unmanifest it instead.”
Bella Sidare
|
Huh. I thought unmanifesting was a single action. Maybe I confused it with dismissing an ongoing spell.
That retcons a lot of my overall strategies. I guess I can't unmanifest Khiari this round. I'll make her Stride instead.
| GM Bret |
So:on rereading the spell, I might have been doing Entangle slightly wrong.
Failure you are -10 speed until you leave the area.
Critical Failure you are immobilized for one round, and after that -10 speed until you leave the area.
You need to make the save each time you begin your round in the area.
I don’t think it has made a huge difference, but it is possible to fail, succeed but still move slowly, critically fail, then succeed and get out. My understanding is that Speed adjustments are applied at the beginning of the round, so even if it only took a single step to get out of the area if you started in it you would suffer the speed adjustment.
I’m not interested in going back and trying to retcon anything, but let’s try to do it correctly moving forward.

On a slightly different topic, could this alias please be marked current so that I don’t have to search the pull-down menu each time for it? I’m not sure if I need to be a current character or current NPC is enough.
Roark Thunderbird
|
Most of the area is -5 speed due to the trees anyway so it's not that big of a difference... :)
As for the alias - I think that unless you're using the plugin, the "default" alias is set in your account settings on Paizo. If you're using the plugin, I think you set the current alias on the Gameplay tab by clicking the "person" outline beside the drop down.
Clover Nettlesoup

Bret doesn't want to make his GM alias his default on Paizo. He's asking Chadius to mark his GM alias as an active player in this campaign while he is still GMing.
Bella Sidare
|
I've marked GM Bret as Active. I hope that helps.
The reading of Entangle's saving throw mechanic is odd- I thought it was once per round, regardless of success. Given where we are in the field, it won't matter for much longer.
That persistent fire damage will go a long way. Whoever has that cold iron spear should prepare to throw it. Let's draw this King of the Woods into the snow clearing so we can flank it quickly. Neither Swashbuckler managed to get Panache, so we'll need to get damage through different means.
Bella Sidare

Well, at least I'm learning about how this alias dropdown works. GM Bret is active and not an NPC.

Bret, you ok with me using replays for the Star Gun series?
| GM Bret |
Um, am I expected to run the Star Gun series? Sounds like I messed up in a couple of ways. :(
Since I last talked about it I put credit for the second part on this character as well. Sounds like that was a mistake. :( In any case, even with Replays I can’t play that on the character I was intending to use with this group.
Now I could bring in a different character and use replays myself for Star Gun, no problem there. I just would need to know what repeatables we are not going to do in this group. As an example, I will soon be GMing an in person game of Lost on the Spirit Road.

My bad. I thought you had agreed to. I know we tossed the idea around and thought you'd already agreed. Sorry for that.
In terms of repeatables, we're all still wide open. Only ones we've done are:
01-01 Absalom Initiation
02-11 Pathfinder Trials
04-01 Boundless Wonders
99-01 2nd Confirmation
99-02 United in Purpose

I know we talked about it but I didn’t recall what the outcome was. When we first talked, I had said that I would need to GM the first one since this character already had credit for it. In my rush to get credit on the character, I played the second one on this character after that.
This character has done Year of Shattered Sanctuaries, so I would prefer we skip that repeatable.
Roark Thunderbird
|
I'm also not looking forward to play 03-01 with Roark and face the enraged bloodseekers! :)
Nicole Flames

Other repeatables that we might run for this group:
S01-10 Tarnbreaker's Trail (Levels 1-4, Repeatable)
S01-23 Star-Crossed Court (Levels 3-6, Repeatable)
S02-06 The Crashing Wave (Levels 3-6, Repeatable)
S03-13 Guardian's Covenant (Levels 3-6, Repeatable)
Roark Thunderbird
|
04-07 Most Wondrous Exchange (5-8);
Assuming we get that far, there's 05-03 (a 5-8 non-repeatable). I think if we're nice we can ask the author to run it... :)
| GM Bret |
They also just announced Equal Exchanges which is a 1-4.
If someone wants to run that, I am sure none of us has played the released version yet. Helps that it hasn’t been released yet. :)
| GM Bret |
Given other things happening in my life, I doubt that I will be ready to start Quest 14 before Monday. We will still do the roleplay, just saying I don’t want to start the next adventure until Monday.
Bounties don’t give Downtime. I will try to get the chronicles out later today.
Probably a good time to decide who the next GM will be and what they will run.
Bella Sidare
|
Thank you, GM Bret. Please take your time to begin Quest 14.
I'm guessing the King was a Grimstalker. I ran the 2-00 special a few months ago, and the team ran into a pair of them. They were level 5 & 6 and handled them pretty quickly.
Goes to show you how levels can change things. The creature could have hit & run us all day long until Fran tripped them. Clover healed us up, Nicole's firebombs gave reliable damage, and Stitch ran them over. Roark was able to bait them for a bit, and I think I Aided? Teamwork, woo!
Bella Sidare

After GM Bret finishes the rotation, what is next for us? Were we trying to do more level 1-4 quests before trying 3-6? I have both of the Star-Crossed scenarios prepared. I could also do Flooded King's Court, although I have to prep that.
1-06 and 1-10 are repeatables I have prepped and ready to run.
Vardarel
|
I think it is better to do a bit more 1-4 content before going into the 3-6 because there are far less 3-6 repeatable and regular scenarios. Non-repeatable scenarios are much harder to schedule for a group like this.
I would certainly be willing to spend a replay for Flooded King’s Court or Star-Crossed Voyages. In spite of what I said about 1-4 content, Star-Crossed Voyages might be a better choice assuming we follow it with the repeatable Star Crossed Court.
Fran Rosemont
|
Please take all the time you need on starting the next adventure, GM.
I agree that we should probably try to take advantage of as much 1-4 stuff as we can manage before moving up to the next tier bracket. I think I've mentioned it before but I've actually played very little PFS2 content in the grand scheme of things so I should be good for most anything; that said, I do have 2 replays I can burn if the need arises.
Stitch Steeltoe

Yes I'm in no huge rush so take your time GM Bret. As far as rotation goes, I believe Chadius is up if we're sticking roughly to the original rotation? He went first, then Tiger, then me? Tiger just finished 4.1 so sort of skipped the rotation up a bit. All I ask is for my turn to not start until my field season winds down (October), which, could mess order up a bit.
1-4's being played out is my thought too so we don't play ourselves out of house and home too fast. I don't have any GM stars so I'd have to burn 40 acp for a replay, something I can do but don't want to do if I don't need to.
I wouldn't mind running 1-14 Lions of Katapesh when my turn comes up. I've played it a long time ago and its goblins and out doorsy, right up my alley!
Roark Thunderbird

I would love to replay Flooded King's Court (01-07) though I'm running it right now for Hmm's other group.
Bella Sidare

Sounds like 1-07, then. I'll start prepping it this weekend.

I have added the slides and RPG Chronicles link for Quest 14. I copied the team's details slide and the "positioning vs the enemy" slides for convenience.

I found no mention of any variations of 'large' sized creatures. Everything seemed consistent with just a 10'x10' block. The only variation was tall and long, both are 10x10 squares. Tall with 10' reach, long 5'.
Guess I'll always just have to curse over narrow hallways and my lack of goblin ancestry.

He was my GM for one game as well, and it was memorable. I think you were with me on that one, Stitch... Lokoloko absorbed so much damage in that fight it's a wonder he survived...

It being Wednesday, it is unlikely that I will get much in for updates.
Once you are done with questions, Marcus would give you time to clean up and get yourselves presentable. Claim your school items and finalize any daily prep during that time.
We will have you meet the challengers either late tonight or more likely tomorrow.
