So, if folks want someone else to be primary in round 1, I don't mind having Elsha do it, but the introvert's options are limited:
Academia Lore +11, Akashic Record Lore +11 (exciting stuff for a rowdy crowd :) )

I can go third with Acrobatics and re-enact a battle with a lot of monk moves :)

Sorry, to be clear, to Aid a Lore, you'd have to use the same Lore. But you could go ahead and use that roll as your primary roll for the second round.
Sorry y'all. I know I picked a bit of an off-beat lore there

That's fine, for the most part, Lores are relativelly off-beat ;) I wanted to ask if I can use a different skill to aid, but I decided just to go with it ;)

This is an FYI that I'll be away in nature this weekend, Sat 8/19 and Sun 8/20. I'll return very late Sunday and likely won't post again until Monday 8/21.

FYI: I'll be away this coming weekend starting Friday evening 9/8 through Sunday 9/10 (US/Pacific time). I will have limited access to post from my phone, so I may be able to keep up over the weekend but can't guarantee a post. As it is the weekend, I suspect this won't be very disruptive to the game.

Farol, you planning to do 04-08 (Battle for Star's Fate)? Isaku's 6th lvl and I don't want him to go out of range if you run it.

Currently no, I am experimenting with GM'ing again to see how it fits my new schedule. And I am running one scenario at the moment and making no plans or promises to GM more

Doubling persistent got resolved in uhh.. CRB Errata 3rd Printing
Page 451, 621: There are a lot of questions about persistent damage. Check the CRB FAQ for more information, but the one thing that we're adding in errata is explicitly stating " Like normal damage, it can be doubled or halved based on the results of an attack roll or saving throw."
So I think you've got it on the nose.

Thanks for running this scenario GM. I had a lot of fun. I didn't mean to test you with all the bombs :P But yeah... I didn't notice before acid flask doesn't specify *what* multiplies on a crit. Either way, I like to get persistent damage in early.

Wheee... I noticed the Mandarin, Soup! :)

Elsha: My -2001 is an alchemist, so I was very familiar with the rules at the beginning. The character leveled to 9, so I've barely gotten to play her in the past 2-3 years, and I haven't really kept up. At issue was the CRB stating that persistent damage didn't double on a crit, but then giving an example of an acid flask crit that doubled the persistent acid.
Tiger: Google Translate! The only way I could have done it from memory is if your character were named One Two Three. :D

I did not get mandarins :P But the rest of the chronicle is good. THanks for running Watery Soup! Much appreciated

Who's next and what we playing next?
| Watery Soup |
Fundamentally, I think we're out of repeatable, 4 XP, 3-6 level scenarios.
#1-23, #2-06, #3-13. I think that's it, unless I've missed one.
There's #5-01, which is new, but 1-4, and we never did #1-01 and #1-10. There's also #4-07, which is 5-8, but I'm playing that (for the first time) in a Gameday game with Farol, so I don't want to have two games of it running at the same time.
I'm up for any of the following options:
1. Re-running something we've already run. They are repeatables, after all.
2. Running a group of four Bounties (18, 19, 20, 21) or Quest 9.
3. Dropping back down to 1-4 and running one of the ones we haven't done.
4. Taking a break for the remainder of Gameday and re-evaluating when we find out what the Season 5 repeatable is; potentially calling it a good run and disbanding.
| Pirate Rob |
That's it for 3-6 repeatable scenarios.
Repeatables I'd be happy to GM:
Intro1 The Second Confirmation (1-2)
Intro2 United in Purpose (1-2)
1-06 Lost on the Spirit Road (1-4)
1-10 Tarnbreaker's Trail (1-4)
Q14 The Swordlord's Challenge (1-4) (2xp)
(Potentially followed by Q15 In The Footsteps of Horror (1-4) (2xp) releasing end of Sept)
Q9 Wayfinder Origins (3-6) (1xp)
---
Happy to play any repeatable, also happy to chill for gameday, am signed up for many games.

Q14's fun actually. I'm also looking forward to getting my hands on Q15 later this month.
Elsha Ustosh
|
If we all have PFS trackers (mine) do we necessarily have to stick to repeatables?
Loong Laohu
|
I'm also sitting on top of 600+ AcP which I can use to get repeat boons...
| Pirate Rob |
Q14 and Q15 are 2 XP each? I'd be interested in seeing what those are like, both from a pure curiosity standpoint and also because I've been running things in 2-hour chunks for my kids and their friends, so that would be a really good size.
Ya, they've promised a series of 4 over the course of a year that are all 2xp and repeatable.
I've played Q-14 a couple times and am GMing it IRL at VPC next month (along with Q-15).
Am hoping Q-15 is equally enjoyable.
Loong Laohu

It's not updated for Season 5 yet though.
Elsha Ustosh
|
I’m completely okay with Q14. Just if we ever start getting into replay-replays we may have more options.
Loong Laohu
|
I'm likely going to prep 04-15 (non-repeatable 9-12, Glyph) in the future in case anyone wants to play that. I just ran 03-15 (Cavern of the Sundered Song) and it was a lot of fun.
Loong Laohu
|
(I'm currently GMing a pbp for 4-15 and am scheduled to play it at the end of the month)
I know. It's too bad I don't have a PC that high or I would have tried to get in... from reading it, it's almost like Lions of Katapesh on steroids :)
Loong Laohu

I'll play Q14. I have a 2nd level Monk if Low tier. High tier, I have a few characters I can bring.
Nikma Odria
|
Since I can't bring Elsha (level 5), I'm switching to this Ranger 2.
Other options are Summoner 2 (but don't want to step on toes) or Magus 1 (brings average level further down).
Nikma Odria

So, Nikma is something of a Snarecrafter. Something I've never been clear on is how to handle the raw materials procurement. I think in most peoples' minds, the crafting action sort of assumes you're near places to procure the raw materials you need during the process and when they are expended. Snare crafting uses this same craft action, though it takes one minute instead of requiring the 4-day downtime.
So, the raw materials. Should I:
* decide how much of generic "raw materials" to buy before we set out on missions into the wilderness?
* or should I deduct raw material costs as snares are crafted?
| Pirate GM |
I don't know how snares work, ask your GM.
Err...
I'm quite familiar with crafting at least.
Source Core Rulebook pg. 589 4.0
Snares are small annoyances and simple traps you can create using the Crafting skill if you have the Snare Crafting feat (page 266). Creating a snare requires a snare kit (page 291) and an amount of raw materials worth the amount listed in the snare’s Price entry. Unlike other items, found snares cannot be collected or sold in their complete form.[/qoute]So you can't buy them, only craft them.
Craft wrote:Source Core Rulebook pg. 244 4.0
If you're in a settlement, you can usually spend currency to get the amount of raw materials you need, except in the case of rarer precious materials. So I think you're going to have to prebuy "raw materials" if you're going to be setting them up out side of town or in most sorts of time sensitive situations.
In the market and setting up for the upcoming dragon attack, no problem to buy string and coconuts.
Hiding out in the haunted house waiting for zombies to burst down the door, not so much commerce.
I definitely don't think they have to be specific to each snare, but "snare raw material" definitely works for me. (Generic any crafting raw materials, I'm not sure about but YMMV)
Do note that when you craft them, they are stuck meaning you need at least a minute at your location before the enemies show up etc to get a snare down.
Snarecrafter helps make them useful in combat by reducing it to 3 actions.
Or the 4th level ranger feat Snare Specialist
Nikma Odria

I will pre-buy some amount of "materials" then and keep it as a generic item. This is the answer I needed. Ty!
He has the formulae for alarm, hampering, marking, and spike snares. They all cost 3gp, so he'll just pick a multiple of that.

actually it's cheap to buy the remaining available snare formulae for his level, so doing that too...
On his profile I'm basically counting the quantity as gp of raw materials. So at 15 he could craft 5 of his 3gp snares (they all are except Flare).
