Ok, so this world the magic stuff is on the down low like in Harry's world and hellboy, the BPRD and such things exist, but most folks don't realize it right?
Would people who are involved with the supernatural, or who are supernatural recognize each other? Would Sariel be able to see that Zania is more than human and vise versa? Or would Freddie be able to recognize us for what we are?

Toni looks round, gauging the distance to her bike, to the food stalls, and to the area where the Bathtub boats are being assembled.
"I'd say keep out of the way of the trouble, but I've got friends around the place who I'd rather not leave stranded."
Since Toni posted that she may want to check on her friends, I'm going to wait to see what she does before I post.
IF she's headed to check on her friends Sariel will go with her, if she joins Zania he'll go that way as well.
Edit: Just realized I put Seamus' name in the narrative instead of Sariel's, that's twice now. Seamus is my character in the other RotR game I'm in, that's part of the reason I don't play the same game at the same time, I mix stuff up. It doesn't help that both start with "S" I will try to get it sorted.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius |
yeah, i do that too, Sariel...i have characters named Doran and Goran...not related and Therin and Theron....again...not related
I think my brain is just wired wrong, I do the same thing with people I meet. The two individuals may have nothing in common, but if I meet them at the same place, or same time, I will switch their names. I tend to not run characters through the same AP's for that reason. I'm hoping that "California" will be different enough, to my subconscious, from Sandpoint that I don't do it. f course quality proof reading would go a long way.

At this point I'm going with Zania on the basis of putting "get the PCs together" ahead of the probably more realistic "I'm going off to look after my friends"
Cool, works for me.
I deleted an earlier post, decided it sounded too harsh. I figure if something comes up, probably should be handled in a PM.
Game on....

Oops, thought this was at the shop.
So Sariel rode with her to try an speak to her privately about the 'prophesy' (Still not sure why Freddie left his fancy classical car where the bikers can mess with it) he doesn't want everyone and their brother to know he's a hunter. If GMMichael wants to retcon the conversation happened in the shop instead of the car I'm ok with that, up to him.
So Freddie, um not a fighter? I don't like using sense motive on playing characters, it feels like one step away from PVP. But wasn't he known for fighting back in the NFL? Wouldn't someone from Chicago who's a Bears fan know that?
I mean you got recognized by a fan in the crowd dude :)

Leaving for Vegas this morning and won't be back till tomorrow night, so if the story progresses before then, Zania goals are to watch Toni's back while she gets her friends out and then call a cab and get to the meeting.
Zania Sheridan |
I'm back, just FYI for everyone.

Lonjiku Kaijitsu is a very wealthy Japanese American. Having been in the camps during WWII. Hes quite old. Owns the Marina and the Bay Tours.
I'm so happy, I was like "Let it be the bad guy from "Big Trouble in Little China" Let it be the bad guy from "Big Trouble in Little China.""
Sariel Patrick Cornelius |
I just meant if she would say something like, "keep an eye out tomorrow" or something like that. We may need to wrap up here and say what were doing tomorrow. Hopefully someone will post another opinion or something.
Or we could post in game what we plan on doing or something, I was just waiting to see if anyone had anything else to say.
I'm still trying to learn the line between "keeping a game moving" and "Not leaving room for other people to participate" :)
Zania Sheridan |
Waiting till the morning to pursue my plotline, so let me know when you guys are done with the late night activity and it is time to move on.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius |
Sure...I think if we meet up an hour before the meeting and get ready for the meeting would work. I'll likely be there first...
So just double checking, Zania set up the 'business meeting' for herself with Ameiko. We are all not going correct?
Jon not sure if your saying we're all going to the meeting, or that you want to go to the meeting with Zania.
Zania Sheridan |
From my side, Zania hasn't set up any official meeting yet. She is planning on going into Ameiko's place in the morning to try to talk to her/make friends with her, as she normally would do when cultivating business contacts with the locals, so if you are basing what you are doing on some specific meeting time between she and I, there isn't one.
Zania Sheridan |
I'm assuming that depends on how the story goes. We don't know what will even happen at the meeting yet, or if Zania is going to have to go over to the Festival instead, and we don't know what information she will or will not get. We aren't even officially a party yet, are we? We haven't established a united purpose. We just started to get to know each other, and we're trying to set all of that up right now, correct?
Sariel Patrick Cornelius |
my assumption was that we were a party to fight against the prophesied evil. That's why Sariel asked if everyone was in.
If he thought that the information spoken about would become public knowledge by someone that wasn't invested in the group and goals, he would have left. Too much risk.
Obviously we're still getting to know each other and what that entails. But I didn't think there was any question in Sariel's mind that everyone was committed.
Zania Sheridan |
We are committed to a nebulous goal that we don't really have any information about yet, as my character said before. We're working to get there, but we aren't to the walking around in a pack stage, at least in my estimation.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius |
I'm ok with that.
Getting together at the festival wasn't my idea nor was meeting at the diner. I was just trying to facilitate moving forward together, but I'm ok if we don't.
We have the ability to communicate via text which is practically like being at the same table in the local tavern/inn :)
I'm just trying to keep the game moving and everyone involved, like I said earlier: "I'm still trying to learn the line between "keeping a game moving" and "Not leaving room for other people to participate" :)

At this point Toni's more concerned with keeping her friends safe from the bikers (and hopefully keeping her job with Ven, otherwise she's going to be short on cash), she's still extremely sceptical about the whole 'big evil' thing, and slightly freaked out by the magic - she'll be heading to the festival early to keep an eye on things.
At some point, I expect something will cause the group to mesh better, at which point splitting up will become less likely.
There's always a tricky line to follow at the start of a game between keeping it moving, and getting everybody involved; I think we'll settle that down a bit as we progress.
Right now I'm leaving space for Zania's chat with Ameiko

Planning on answering Sariel's text, but waiting on the continuation of my conversation first.
GMMichael |
Ill answer that shortly Zania.
so someone asked me why no posts for a couple days...
I thought to point out something that may be important to note...
my days off fall during the week instead of saturday and sunday. many times Ill work those days. If I take them off though at times I get so busy with real life and honey dos and appts that It precludes any gaming.
sorry

I hate to do this everyone, but I think I am going to have to drop out. Between a crazy work schedule, trying to take care of ailing dementia parents, and trying to help my kid apply for colleges, I am just too swamped. I find myself feeling guilty for not keeping up, and it has become a chore to try and get posts in. I am going to finish out a few of the shorter games I am in, but I am just not capable of continuing for the foreseeable future.
Thank you all for including me, and good luck with your adventure. This is a great group!

Also GM, no pressure from me. When I said I was waiting on that, I meant patiently, I promise, and just as an update so no one thought I was MIA. :) Life comes first, I get it.
