Landitho gasps at the story. "Yes, yes we will help you out Pethjun.". She covers her mouth. "Tell us of these traps. Or anything else you know about this 'great drill'"

GM Valen |

"You said the wall was broken by a drilling machine of some sort? Who in the blazes would be crashing around down here with such a device-and seemingly no one aware of it up above?"
"The 'drilling machine' that has rampaged through our territory, I know not its origins. Though, it seemed to be moving free of control or oversight. Pethjun replies.
However, the rumored descriptions of the Graveraker suggest a much larger construct. If the two devices are related, then the one that ravaged the sewer tunnels would likely have t be some smaller-scale, test version of the Graveraker.
Xun looks at the kobold "Yes, we will help you. Lead the way" says Xun
"The invaders lie that way," Pethjun says in the common tongue, pointing southward towards an intersection that has passages leading in all four cardinal directions. "To the southeast."
"But, I will not be accompanying you," she continues. "Instead, I will seek to backtrack down the tunnels to find safety and rejoin with others sent south."
"Beware! Trapmaster Tok has set a trap to launch spears," she warns, giving a description. "One of the sewer tiles connects to a wall socket loaded with a spear."
"Thank you for your help, Pathfinders!" she says, her speech clearly painful due to her wounds. "Now, go! Fight!"
As Pethjun moves northward, you are free to head south. At you approach the intersection from the north, the sounds of battle can be heard close by to the east. The kobold's description of Trapmaster Tok's work is also sufficient to allow you to readily spot the spear trap ahead.
Location of trap is indicated with yellow-outline on map.
At the far end of the tunnel stands a hastily prepared barricade standing at a bottleneck where the chamber meets a smaller passage. An otyugh flails against the barricade, while a second busily devours half of a dead kobold. Behind the barricade, a band of kobolds, including Chief Yiddlepode, are making their stand.
Exhausted and injured from their fighting retreat, the kobolds look quite relieved your arrival.
Following their gaze, the otyughs turn toward you. "Fresh meat!" yells one as the other otyugh squeals in delight. The two turn to attack you!

"Death refuses me, so it seems glory is what destiny holds!" The dwarf cries and hurls herself forward, blade flashing in wide arcs!
◆ Stand, ◆ Strike, ◆ Strike
Strike 1: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15 Damage: 2d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 + 1 = 11
Strike 2: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 = 20 Damage: 2d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8, 3) + 3 + 1 = 15

Rising from the muck, Birgid stands battered and bruised. Her body has suffered repeated blows and trauma. The strength to stand is drawn only from magic and a determined will.
She swings at the otyugh with her blade in a wide arc. But, the strike is inartful and the tentacled beast readily avoids its path. Its wretched mouth twists in a gleeful smirk.
However, the dwarf is not done and as her blade continues its path, it turns once against towards the otyugh. The creature reacts. The dwarf's blade just barely manages to connect. Yet, to the otyugh's horror, the force of the blow is great enough to bring the creature's existence to an abrupt end!
COMBAT OVER!
With the last of the otyughs slain, Chief Yiddlepode and Trapmaster Tok each emerge from behind the barricade.
"Thank you! Thank you, Pathfinders!" the two kobolds cry in profuse appreciation, before being escorted away by a young kobold attempting to treat their wounds.
Shortly thereafter, as the kobolds cheer and poke at the deceased otyughs, Drandle Dreng and Dragonspeaker Engashez arrive from an adjacent tunnel.
"The loss to the Sewer Dragon tribe is great," Dreng acknowledges, "but that loss would have been much, much greater if not for your quick and skillful intervention, Pathfinders. The remainder of the tunnels are secure, at least for now."
Well done, we are just about wrapped up, save for a little roleplaying.

Xun breathes the air out as the monster is slain. But still stands in a fighting stance observing the carcasses. He keeps on humming the music that keeps healing Birgid 8 more HP regained in 2 more rounds
Finally, he takes a step and shakes his head. He picks up a small Onyx statue and hides it in his bag "Thank you fried, you did well."
He looks at Dreng and kobolds and asks "What's with that tunnel digging machine? Who is stirring all those creatures?" asks the bard still feeling the adrenaline of combat as his hands are shaking.
"That was closer than I liked"

"You'll get no argument from me, Master Saburo." Standing a bit unsteadily, the injured dwarf bows her head in prayer. "Merciful Folgrit, your servant lives to serve again. Today we were able to save many lives, though the loss was great." She looks up to nod in agreement at Xun's questions about the digging machine. "That will need to be dealt with, and sooner than later."
With the Sewer Dragon leaders already escorted away, Birgid quietly pulls aside one of the kobolds poking at the otyugh corpses and asks them to convey her well-wishes to Chief Yiddlepode. "How many of the tribe were lost?"

Landitho joins in the kobold's cheering while playing her violin. "Though losses may have been great, these creatures will no longer threaten you!"
"Feel free to visit us up on the surface any time." She casually winks at a new kobold friend.

"Alas," concedes Dreng as he and Dragonspeaker Engashez exchange looks, "whatever the construct was that began this calamity, neither of us can say for certain. The damage elsewhere in the tunnels is considerable, but the immediate danger is over thanks to you."
Some background was afforded in the adventure, but no express way is indicated in the quest as to how to convey that information (so I tried to improvise). The quest expressly DOES state that neither Dreng nor Dragonspeaker Engashez can say for certain what the construct was.

"Not as many as would have been, but for your timely arrival." notes the Chief. "Our numbers are diminished, but we will survive and rebuild. And with our home destroyed, our tribe will need to move to new a location."
No death toll is listed, but the Sewer Dragons ARE represented in a subsequent scenario.
"That, is something I can help you with," notes Dreng (anticipating a future scenario)]. The silver-haired man then turns to the party.
"As for you, Pathfinders. By the looks of it, you Pathfinder agents could use a good rest." observes Dreng. "Not to mention, a long bath!"
