There is no way that the remaining goblin can win this fight and, as we have just about a week to conclude the next quest, I am calling it here.

The combined might of the Pathfinders is too much for the remaining goblin, who is rendered unconscious.

A leather bag is propped up against one of the walls in the chamber, indicating that these Steelfang goblins were in the middle of sorting out their latest haul. The contents mostly consist of personal effects of negligible value, but contain a wand of bless (11 charges). Broken stone from shattered statues and altars litter the lair, though a few stone tablets remain. Those that are intact have been defaced with paint, each bearing a drawing of a round goblin head with knives for teeth, but they are otherwise undamaged.

Knowledge (history or local) or Linguistics (DC 15):

You are able to piece together the content of one of the tablets from the various pieces. The tablets contain an ancient ballad that tells the story of a dwarf named Jorgar Ironbellows, an ambitious noble who murdered his father to secure his inheritance, only to be assassinated by his own son in turn. The fable serves as a cautionary tale, warning others about the folly of favoring one’s own ambition above the lives of their fellow dwarves.

If anyone lays a hand on the one of the tablets:

You suddenly receive a brief vision of an elderly gnome woman who says, “If only this song had been sung in the halls of Absalom’s lodge, perhaps these lessons would have saved a few lives and reputations. Sing it once more for me the next time you’re there, would you?”

On the bodies of the goblins, you find a well-made (masterwork) dogslicer, a couple of smokesticks (2), a few thunderstones (4), a suit of studded leath armor, and a few other weapons. (dogslicer, 3 shortbows, 1 short sword, about three dozen arrows).

You also find a collection of vials, each with crude pictures on them. Four vials bear depictions of flames, one bears primitively rendered frog, one bears an etching of feather, and the fourth bears something resembling a smiley face.

With the goblins defeated, you are able to claim the stone tablets and any of the other items you wish to retrieve from the caverns.

At the entrance of the cave, Urgrin and Helga await excited to hear about what you found out about the cave, expressing both gratitude for their deeds and embarrassment over their superstitious attitudes allowing goblins to gain a foothold in their territory.

With your mission complete, you are free to return to Absalom to report on your findings.

Beginning the final quest.

When word of your completed investigations reaches Absalom, Kreighton Shaine requests that you meet him at the Grand Lodge.

Upon your arrival, he announces, "From what I have gleaned from reports, you have now acquired all the pieces necessary to unlock Eylysia’s last message, left at the site of her final confrontation before her disappearance."

"Come, follow me." he urges as he leads you through a series of vaulted halls and grand passages. As you approach, one of the research libraries within the Grand Lodge, Shaine pauses for a moment and announces, "I am eager to get started. As, no doubt, are the members of the Decemvirate who will be joining us."

Entering the library, you find two masked Decemvirate members—one with a helm that resembles flowing water and the other a steel whorl with three eyeholes awaiting you. They nod in greeting but, otherwise, say little more.

Lining the room are an assortment of old tomes and ancient artifacts. Among them is a totem of a mount, which evokes an artistic style of indicative of Shoanti culture, strikingly similar to that you which had observed in the Jeggare Museum. Also among the items in the room is an aged music stand and a rack filled with an assortment of cloaks.

"I trust you were able to gather the clues necessary to activate Eylysia’s last message?" inquires Shane as he ushers you further into the room of the library.

To keep us moving, I will assume that the party was able to decipher each of Eylysia's clues.

Using the clues found during your travels, you are able to determine how to activate Eylysia’s last message.

Uncover if you want to confirm what the clues are::

Placing the Shoanti totem figurine provided by Jeggare atop of a mount. You spy a matching mount within a display case in the library.

Raising the hoods of your cloaks. (Shaine can provide you each with a cloak upon request, if you do not have one.)

Singing the song recovered on the stone tablet. (Shaine can decipher the tablet if you were unable to do so on your own.)

After completing all three steps, long dormant magics are released. Upon activation of the magics, the research library around you blurs as the relics on the shelves seem to age in reverse. Items and furniture shuffle rapidly about the room until finally the movement comes to a halt. The room is now arrayed much differently than it was before, and strange swirling clouds of space wend throughout the area. At the center of the library stands a gnome woman with faded teal hair.

"About time you got here!” the gnome exclaims. “I’m expecting Veldrid any minute! We need to confront her with what we know and convince her to turn on the others. Once their deeds are revealed, they’ll have no choice but to resign."

In addition to the change in surroundings, you find that each of you, too, has changed--none of the Pathfinders looking quite like him or herself. Yet, somehow, you now know for certain that the gnome woman is Eylysia and that each of you are her companions.

Each player must now choose one of Eylysia’s companions, who you will inhabit during the upcoming encounter (each must choose a different companion). The companion will have the same stats as the PC with the exception of the addition of the special ability listed.

Please post your "companion choice", perhaps providing a description of the companion as you imagine him or her, and then place your PC token on the map anywhere adjacent to Eylysia (who appears already on the map as the purple bordered token).

Annissa, the half-elf barbarian, suddenly looks like a half-elf barbarian.

Except for the minor detail of the veiled Katapesh woman who hid herself is now in the bizarrely revealing furs and leather scraps of the Shoanti, exposed flesh scrawled in a network of tattoos that seemed to enhance and channel the barbarian's rage.

Annissa/Idina holds up their hand to inspect it curiously, turning it over thoughtfully and then tries to adjust the too-tight leather halter top.

"Hmmn." She remarks.

The door opens, admitting three figures wearing Decemvirate helms: one eyeless and triple-flanged, another topped with stag antlers, and the third a crystal-studded black domino mask.

Eylysia blanches, but quickly covers it up with a smile. “So... I take it you aren’t willing to play nice?”

“It is the Decemvirate’s will that your investigations cease,” declares the antler-helmed figure.

The figure behind the eyeless helm nods, and the domino-masked figure hesitates before also nodding.

“I wonder whether your other colleagues would agree.” Eylysia draws herself up to her full height. “I doubt they’ll agree with your perspective once they know what I know.”

The figure in the eyeless mask draws his sword. “Then you understand why we cannot let you live."

You realize that you are seeing the world through someone else’s eyes, though you can still act and discern which of your party members are which.

Any creature within or on the opposite side of one of these streams of mist has concealment (20% miss chance). Whenever a creature is knocked unconscious, their body seems to stream away into the mist, drawn in and slowly disintegrated. If the unconscious creature is a PC who is not returned to consciousness within 2 rounds, the PC leaves the battlefield.
