Badly wounded, Talia throws down her weapons and pleads with you for mercy.
Abaal produces a length of hemp rope and hands one end of it to Talia.
"Hold this would you? I need to measure this dias."
He then begins feeding the line out while still keeping it taut as he steps back.

Ehm starts singing (badly), Da na na na na na, THUNDER! and levels his pistol at Haliduras.
adamantine bullet, point blank, deadly aim, reckless aim, concussive bomb, explosive missile, and conductive weapon. Using an adamantine bullet and concussive bomb (sonic damage) in case he has other protections up that I don't know about yet.
pistol touch att: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33, if hits, pistol dam: 1d6 + 8d4 + 20 ⇒ (2) + (4, 1, 3, 4, 3, 1, 4, 2) + 20 = 44
Holy Crap! A crit threat with a bomb loaded firearm!
crit confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25, if hits, pistol dam: 3d6 + 2d4 + 20 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) + (2, 1) + 20 = 35
If the crit confirms, that is 14 dam from adamantine bullet and at least 65 sonic damage!
I am actually not sure if that is correct. It might be 6d4+60. I don't know if the bombs get the x4 crit of the pistol or stay with the usual x2 crit of the bomb. I will do some research in case needed.

Well, that was unexpected... Kyra says a bit taken aback by the sudden disappearance of the treasonous agent's head and the ever expanding puddle of blood.
She moves to Talia and binds her hands. after making sure there is no threat, she says a quick prayer for Haliduras' soul.
He might have been evil, but some souls can be redeemed in the next life...perhaps his is one...

"Talia," Abaal calls back up the steps. "Please hold the rope steady. I'm trying to be as exact as possible with these measurements."

Taariik hears the BOOM and is completely surprised by what happened!
He looks at Ehm and at the gun and his mouth hangs open.

Enora walks over to Haliduras' remains. She cleans the body methodically with her Prestidigitation spell before searching it for loot.
"Hopefully he was carrying around more than a bad attitude."
Nice shot Ehm. :)

GM Jhaeman |

Covered in gore and utterly terrified of what will happen next, Talia quietly holds Abaal's rope. A search of her, Haliduras, and the rest of the Aspis turn up some valuable gear. But the seemingly-insignificant zombie holds something even more important: a journal that is proof that, in life, he was Eldris Grone, nephew of retired Pathfinder Benton Grone, and the person you came to Rachikan to find.
Somewhere, further ahead, rumbling and crashing sounds can be heard. The battle's shouting and explosions have travelled throughout the subterranean city, and where there's a handful of morlocks, there could be hundreds more.

After 2 months, I had totally forgotten what were here to find. Thanks for the reminder.
Oach, tis the sound o trouble commin our way. Abaal, Tarrlik, one o ye grab yonder poor laddy's corpse an the other drag yon traitor. Let's skeedatle! While speaking, Ehm is snatching anything that look interesting or valuable as well as everything that Enora indicates is magical and tossing it all in his haversack.
Best if someone has a bag of holding for the corpse.

'E was a big boggey scuggins an' meself was a tired o his wailin.
I'm afraid Abaal's sketch is covered in brain.
Abaal nods in agreement, but looks down forlornly and sighs. He tears off the top layer of paper, dabs his face with a dry bit, and tosses it to the side. Then he quickly begins anew upon his mapmaking. If he can finish it--at least a rough sketch, before the gibbering hordes of the Darklands arrive to carry them all off then he will have accomplished something this trip.

Bit Player |

Enora loads the valuables into Ehm's Handy Haversack.
"I think that we are done for the moment. Abaal, I have memorised the layout so you can sketch it once we leave this place. It is time to go. Now."

GM Jhaeman |

Newly dedicated to cartography, Abaal manages to jot down a quick layout and some rough estimates of dimensions before the Pathfinders are forced to flee the oncoming hordes of morlocks.
The return to the surface, and then to the waiting ship, goes without further incident. Although Benton Grone is saddened by news of his nephew's fate, there's no denying the Pathfinder Society has scored a major victory this day: the Aspis Consortium has been defeated, slaves have been freed, and the path is now open for a dedicated Society expedition to fully explore Rachikan. Indeed, Benton decides to honor his nephew's sacrifice by emerging from retirement and re-joining the Society!
That's a wrap. Great game everyone--I really enjoyed the quality role-playing all around. I'll have Chronicles in the Discussion thread in a couple of days.

gg guys! thanks for running this boss! was fun
At least there is some closure for the family. A small mercy. I am sure there will be more forays into Rachikan in the future... Kyra says as she takes her leave to go back to the abbey, awaiting her next summons from the Society.

Taariik nods.
“Yes, we walked further on our path but a fellow Pathfinder is gone! A sad day!“

![]() |

By the by Enora. While ye looks or the loot from the boogles, mind if I have a gander at yer book o magic ta see if thar be any thin I can glean from it?

Bit Player |

"By all means have a look."
@Ehm - Feel free to copy any of Enora's spells into your formula book. You will still have to pay for the scribing costs as per CRB but it does save you the copying charge at least. :)

"UGH! The domes!" Cries Abaal a half-hour later, out of the blue. He had been sketching as he walked. "Does anyone know how to figure the volume of a semi-spheroid? I'll also need to figure their highest points. Hmmm...."
