A loud CRACK! echoes through the room as Ehm opens fire with his pistol, grazing one of the guards. One steps up to confront the gnome, while the other tries to bring a heavy mace down on Abaal's cranium!
Ehm and Abaal, you each take 10 points of damage.

The other man! The other man! thinks Abaal I had this one.
Unable to directly charge around the huge Tarriik, Abaal grits his teeth and dashes over to the last man standing, and attempts to bring him down quickly through direct of his adamanitne blade.

Enora walks in smiling. She looks around waiting to see if the party still needs her help.
"What did I tell you. Easy peasy lemon squeezy."
(Readied action to Magic Missile the last standing man if he is still conscious after Ehm's attack.)
Magic Missile,CL 7: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4, 3, 3) + 4 = 16
The Arcanist lack of spell slots really holds it back compared to both the Wizard and the Sorcerer. Too bad as Enora is really fun to play. :)

... and Abaal darts in with a finishing overhand chop that has blood and skull fragments flying everywhere!
Abaal clears his throat and says "Pardon." to Ehm and Kyra before pulling a small handkerchief from his sleeve and dabbing it at Kyra.
Taariik
|
"Can you please stabilize them Kyra?"
Taariik casts detect magic and looks at the bodies.
He then looks at the rail system and shrugs.
"So do we just sit in a wagon and go down?"
GM Jhaeman
A quick search of the room doesn't show anything of interest besides the mining carts and the track leading down into the dark depths.
These two are, as described, very, very dead (-15 and -17 respectively).
Unless there's anything else anyone wants to do, I'll transition to the cart ride soon.
grimdog73's second pregen
Thank you, Abaal...just remind me to not be near your next target... she says with a sly grin.
I'm afraid they're gone, Taariik...nothing to do but last rites.... Kyra says after quickly checking for signs of life. She closes their eyes and says a quick prayer to Sarenrae for their souls. she ten grabs the shield. Might come in handy...

Taariik shakes his head.
“That is unfortunate ... “ he says looking at the two dead people.
He seems to want to escape the situation.
“Then let us go further!“ he says.

Enora smiles at the party.
"Good job everyone."
She lends a practised eye to the rail and the cart to see if it would be able to support Taariik's enlarged form.

Thank you, Abaal...just remind me to not be near your next target... she says with a sly grin.
"Of course." Abaal says sharply.
He wrestles a cart on to the rails, and starts shoving it toward the hole building up momentum.
"QUICKLY NOW! GET IN!"
Abaal plans on shoving to the point it starts rolling on its own thanks to gravity and hops in--even if he is the only one inside.
GM Jhaeman
The journey down the rickety rail system is at turns exhilarating and terrifying, and reaching bottom takes a surprisingly long time despite the speed at which you're careening down. Finally, you see ahead of you that the rails are levelling out and that you've reached ground level of a vast cavern. Another mining cart has stopped at the end of the track, and four more Aspis guards are huddled around it--waiting for you with maces at the ready! Talia, the traitorous Pathfinder, is nowhere to be seen.
I'll give each of you a round to do something as your cart slows down before eventually stopping next to the waiting Aspis. Assume you're about sixty feet away for this free round. (I'll prep an encounter slide on Sunday, but you can still declare your action now).

Using whatever momentum is left, Abaal leaps off the front of the cart with his sword held over his head to greet them... on Sunday. ;)

Bands of white and black energy surround Enora as she replenishes her arcane pool. A small tribute to the patron god of magic. The halfling's eyes open up wide as saucers as she notices the Aspis agents clustered together. She brings out her staff and calls forth a large ball of arcane fire to envelop her opponents.
(Move action to Consume Spell (2nd Level), 2 points added to Arcane Reservoir)
Fireball, Reflex DC 18 for half damage, CL 8 4 charges from Staff of Embers: 8d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4, 2, 4, 6, 4) = 31
Haste might tactically be the better spell but Fireball never really gets old especially when cast through a staff. :)
GM Jhaeman
The massive fireball conjured by Enora's staff of embers devastates the Aspis defenders! Three of the elite guards collapse to the ground, badly burned. But a fourth grips his mace and shield, ready for battle.
Okay, this scene is now up on Slide # 2.
@Ehm: 20 rounds gets you there safe and sound. (Thanks for keeping such good track of your buffs!)

Enora looks pleadingly at Kyra and Abaal to put this last man down. She waits for the martially inclined characters to defeat this one last opponent before he strikes again.
My character is now on delay. Enora is waiting for a new threat to appear. If the man is not down after Ehm's next turn (Round 2 - Initiative count 18) then she will drop out of delay to deal with him. I consider that to be a very low probability. :)

Enora smiles as Kyra's sword flashes with fire bringing the Apsis agent to the ground.
"Flame of the Dawnflower indeed. Well struck."
The Arcanist turns her attention to the fallen agents and their possessions.
"Abaal, perhaps you can check around for Talia's tracks? This place is so dusty that someone with your experience will make short work of it I am sure."

Enora pockets the meagre valuables found on the guards. She looks at the wayfinder and arcane scroll with much more curiosity.
She carefully examines both using magical means.

I was hoping that someone would use Survival to look for tracks.

Figuring out the best way to go isn't hard, as footsteps in the dust lead in only one direction: the ancient city of Rachikan. Towering buildings and forgotten architecture fill the skyline hidden deep within the cavern. Cramped and decaying columns line avenues and market squares, representing only a fragment of their former glory. Dark shadows play amidst the flickers of light that rain from the chasm opening above. Some of the Pathfinders realise: a mobile construct made of stone is lurking behind one of the damaged buildings!
This scene is on Slide # 2. We'll start with a Surprise Round for those who made the Perception checks.

"You might as well use the potions of healing that we found before. I know that you are both big and strong but you might need your full strength for what awaits ahead."
Abaal carries a number of potions on his person, so he specifically did not take any of the adventure's healing potions. I'm not sure if anyone else actually claimed them. If he has a second (or actually six of them) he'll use one of his own potions. I was just teasing the 'healbot' out of character. ;)
potion of cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
I was hoping that someone would use Survival to look for tracks.
As we were in a hurry, and Survival often takes longer to use, Abaal instead used that old chestnut, Perception. Had he found any tracks that needed a Survival check to follow he would have used that next, but since there was only one obvious path he went the quick route.
knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Just getting all of the bad dice rolls out of the way right now.
"Zounds! A giant man of stone... a sort of man-o'lith." says swordsman in amazement.
GM: Two questions. 1) Does Abaal have 6 seconds to down his potion (see above)? If he has 12 seconds, he sips two potions seeing how bad the first one was. 2) How difficult is the terrain between Abaal, and the stone giant (I see foliage to the west of those stone pillars, and I think Abaal might want to get in its face--unless someone has something else they want to try)?
Possible 2nd potion of cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
GM Jhaeman
@Abaal: I'm happy to assume you chugged the two potions while following the tracks. Good question about the terrain--let's assume for simplicity sake that none of the ground is difficult terrain, but that the upright pillars (and walls, of course) are impassable and provide cover to those on the other side.
