Glad you missed the Coronavirus. It can be hard to adjust to a less sugar diet after participating in the normal American sugarfest. I'm sorry the adjustment is making you feel less than happy.

![]() |

I had an adaption to make myself four years ago when I realized that I wasn't just a little lactose intolerant but completely lactose intolerant. All dairy products exited my life, stage left. Restaurant eating became very careful -- I generally only eat in asian restaurants or ones that advertise a vegan menu.
Still, I think that Italy will be an easier place to be a diabetic. Yes, there are a lot of pasta and rice dishes... but your cuisine also values vegetables and other fresh ingredients. It's going to be an adjustment, and it will take time but at least you know what was making you sick now.
Hmm

Busy day at work. Is Zendel able to roll what he knows about oozes and ooze mephits now, or is it better for him to wait until he sees one?

![]() |

When you have a moment, can you please fill out this sheet. There are several places where secret rolls may come in handy.
This tool now cross-linked above Campaign Tabs!

![]() |

Yeah, we seem to have lost a bit of momentum. Maybe it's a natural lull, maybe it's PbP fatigue, I dunno.
If we want to speed things up and there isn't much interesting going on, maybe you could point us in the right direction? Otherwise it's a week full of "I open the door." "There's nothing inside." (Not saying you need to do this right now, just throwing something in the air.)
And yeah, the doors are visible.

![]() |

Should we create a door opening procedure? And draw an arrow saying in which order we are trying out doors?

![]() |

Zendel's Gear is the ITS link in his PFS information spoiler.

![]() |

Also, if you were wondering GM where Maruta's gear is, well, it's in his Character Profile, under "Equipment", which, if you are wondering why that's empty, is because, well, at this time, he doesn't have any, which, despite appearances, is actually not an oversight, at this stage in his adventuring career...
...besides acorns...

No worries, and thank you for GMing!
I'll start prepping Bounty 8. Unless people want a break? Posting has slowed down a bit, but that might also be because the GM was a bit slower (no offense meant, GM).

A whole bunch of real life things happening didn't help. Plus this bounty was a bit of an outlier as there were 2 mandatory and possibly a 3rd combat encounter (you could have fought the mephit if you couldn't convince him to return).

![]() |

Vanvathar, I say roll us into it after you have a chance to take leave of the group. Zendel will miss playing with Vanvathar and Iggy.
Mathei, do what is best for you. Thank you so much for joining us earlier. I do hope you reach equilibrium soon. It took a LONG time for me to get used to my lactose intolerance... health issues are no fun.
I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to play Zendel at level one. This test drive was important to me before I start leveling him with loads of GM credit.
Hmm

![]() |

I am good with keeping going. I liked the combat in that adventure because it got Ron to stretch his legs a bit in that front. The roleplay with eachotehr is harder in a dungeon crawl like that. I think that bounty was a cool story but would play better at a real table.
Thank you for playing with us Matei. We will miss the doctor but we all understand that real life health is most important.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Session is reported and chronicles are available. Sorry for the delay.

![]() |

No worries, we're still in the bounty rotation anyways.
By the way, would anyone mind reporting Bounty 8 for me after we're done? I don't have a proper play by post reporting event. >_>

GM Kwinten |

I know, but I'd rather not create an event for only a single game.
By the way, what do you think of the pacing so far? I'm always struggling between making sure everyone has the time to react and keeping up the pace so everyone stays engaged. For the beginning at least I think it's important to give room for roleplaying to get invested in the adventure.

![]() |

Go ahead and roll us into the action. Heads up though -- PaizoCon is coming so I will be a bit slower that week.

GM Kwinten |

Thanks everyone for playing! I forgot to link my sign-in sheet earlier, so I can report this event. Here it is (ignore the Discord and Roll20 links). Is everyone okay with me emailing the sheets, or do you prefer I link them to you on Google Drive?
If you could, could you tell me how you liked my GMing style? I'm always a bit nervous GMing for new people, especially PbP. I'd like to know what my strong and weak points are, and how I come across to everyone. Feel free to PM me if you don't feel comfortable sharing it here. Thanks a lot!

![]() |

I think when the fight is called, the fight is called. Plus we both have campaign coins to spend.
It's over!
If anyone wants to continue with bounties I'd have to switch characters, or we can end this here! Your GMing style seemed fine! Once everyone fills out the sheet, I'll report it for Kwinten!

GM Kwinten |

Yeah, if you hadn't finished it, Ron would've. The slashing damage and the crit from Zendel helped speed things along.
I realised I can just add it to our regular lodge's event, so you don't need to report for me. Thanks anyway, Hmm!
I have a character stuck at an odd numer of EXP, so if I could GM a 1-4 or 3-6 Quest, that'd solve that. :) Other than that, I'm always happy to keep playing, you're a fun group. :)

![]() |

I could go either way - stop here or go for 1 or 2 more bounties - not sure I'm ready to run though.
In either case thanks for putting up with my fey shenanigans, these games have helped me get to know Maruta as a character both in terms of backstory and personality, which has been a pleasure.
GM Kwinten, I like the extra thought you put into your NPCs, as well as your attention to detail supplying the party with needed info during encounters. I had lots of fun!

![]() |

I am good with whatever the group does. I enjoy playing with you all and it is nice to play with the same characters because it doesn't feel like I am starting over on getting Ron's personality across every session but I also understand if people don't want to get xp to be weird with not being in increments of 4.
Your GM style worked well for me! The characters seemed to have a lot of personality and it really came out plus you laid out a bunch of hooks for us to roleplay with if we wanted. I think the way you ran combat was nice and smooth so no complaints on that end.

GM Kwinten |

Yeah, thanks, I put a bit of effort into it. As usual, the NPCs have only a single line of description, so it's a lot of improvisation. Luckily I'm more proficient with written dialogue than real-life improv. :)
For instance, the fight between Xanthus and Eigil simply says that they're arguing, but no actual dialogue. I'm quite proud of what I made up. :)

GM Kwinten |

Chronicles are made and can be found HERE. Let me know if there's anything wrong and I will fix it (I tend to forget to give people access, for instance >_>).
I even did month/day/year, the way you weird Americans prefer. :P

![]() |

I don't do that for me... I play with enough Europeans that I accept any date order! Thanks for the chronicle!
Alright, does this group want to continue? Zendel is level 2 now so cannot do Bounties anymore. On the other hand, I love the chemistry he has with others in the group here!

![]() |

Gasp Ron is finally getting back to home base and see he has his first Society sanctioned job? He is very excited... he was beginning to think his paperwork got lost in the bureaucracy.

GM Kwinten |

If we want to continue (that's an if, I don't want to push the issue), we're looking at Quests in the 1-4 level range. Not all of them are repeatable, so let's see who's already played what.
Quest #1 Sandstone Secret (repeatable)
Quest #2 Unforgiving Fire
Quest #3 Grehunde's Gorget (but gives a boon useful in a different scenario)
Quest #4 Port Peril Pub Crawl (repeatable)
Quest #6 Archaeology in Aspenthar
Quest #10 Broken Scales
Quest #11 A Parchment Tree
Quest #13 Falcons' Descent
I've prepped #1, #2, and #4 before. I've ran #13 before, so I wouldn't get credit for it, and I've played #3, so those are ones I could easily run. Prepping a Quest isn't an issue, I just know the quality of those.
Any preferences? Port Peril is run RP-wise, I know that. Unforgiving Fire is interesting, but quirky.
Are people also familiar with the PFS Sessiontracker? I found Hmm and Michael Hallet on there (with their old numbers), couldn't find the others. It's a useful tool for planning.

![]() |

I just got back to work after taking a few days off, so I'm just starting to catch up.
I have played all the quests. I have only run a few of them (1,2,4).
I haven't used the pfs tracker in a few years.
As for dates I tend to use the 2-Jun-2021 format. Almost everyone else in my team is in India, so it reduces confusion.

GM Kwinten |

I'll add: PF2 is the only ORPG I play, so I can easily track by Scenarios / Quests etc by memory.
=)
It's mainly a tool for GMs to see what they can run for their players, but it's not that important if you join up with GMs who already know what they're going to run. :)
So, sounds like a repeatable, then. I feel Port Peril works best face-to-face. Anyone who doesn't feel like playing The Sandstone Secret?
If people who've played it could tell me in spoilers which enemies they've fought, I can pick a route that no one (or the least amount of people) have played.
Again, assuming everyone's okay with me running a Quest. I'm also fine with playing/running more Bounties, these are the first I've experienced so far.

![]() |

I have not played any quests in 2e yet. This is my first dip into 2e as a player as I GM a home game and am the forever GM. I am happy to have a format that allows me to be a player. I feel like I made an account on that website for 1e when I played lots of 1e pbp. I will check it out again.

GM Kwinten |

I'm waiting for Hmm's approval before I begin. We can't play without our Glorious Leader!

![]() |

Glad there is a little break.
I'm going to retire Maruta for now - and will strongly consider changing his class to Summoner (in July/August), as I have grown fond of that damned beetle, which having 9 posts to it's alias, needs a legitimate "name" before "Bugs" is otherwise forumlocked.
Bringing along a new 1st level character - Ghul - a Dhampir who will be transitioning from Warpriest to Champion here - to see if the helmet fits.

![]() |

I like the idea of Maruta as a Summoner. The back and forth between him and a pet sounds interesting. Also the idea of a bug eidolon speaks to me.

![]() |

Unsure if we are continuing here.
I think I'm going to close this thread at the end of the week if the inactivity remains?
If that is the case: It was lovely playing with you all!
