Tygora is an efreeti. She is immune to fire, weak to cold. That's not a lot of information for combat, but I'm going to give a more relevant piece of information for the scenario overall: she has the ability to grant wishes. Like the genies of lore, these wishes have the potential to be twisted by the efreeti.

Mavaro wrote:

Yes, that's just a pattern on the floor.

Khugron wrote:

If you move forward, I'll need to roll initiative. I've moved your icon back and put a pink line down to indicate her boundary. Combat isn't forbidden, but I do want to make sure everyone who wants to talk gets a chance.

To be frank, there are a few key pieces of information here, so even if your intent is to initiate combat as soon as possible, I'm going to wait for confirmation that nobody else has questions before rolling initiative.

"Oh, is that what you think? Perhaps you should have done a little more research. The people of this town put me in power. They were on the verge of destruction and I saved them.

Do you not wonder why they recoiled in horror at you killing my ifrits? It's because they know that I will enforce discipline in my ranks. I did it before you arrived, and will do it after you leave.

Do you not wonder why Valsog doesn't craft powerful weapons and lead a rebellion himself? I have given him materials and freedom worthy of a master craftsworker, and only ask for minor items in return, just enough to keep the peace. I did it before you arrived, and will do it after you leave."

OK, a strange set of actions based on how much damage that wall will do to everyone and Al's ability to heal himself being considerably lower than 25 points a round, and Khugron being out of channel range. Al will also maintain Voices in the link based on Voices having fewer hit points in general than most of the party.

Al quickly drops everyone but Khugron and Voices from his life link. They both heal 5 points of damage. Al then moves a little closer to the wall of fire and channels positive energy healing everyone, including mounts, etc, but Khugron. His hawk that would have been wounded by the wall of fire is healed by the channel. It flies up and over the wall.

Both Khugron and Voices heal 5 while Al takes 10. He moves up through the gap in the wall and strikes Tygora with bolt of lightning.

I tend to be a little loosey-goosey with the initiative in PbP. Enforcing a strict order usually leads to very long combats. I make two adjustments to speed it up: 1. all the enemies will be grouped into blocks of no more than 2 blocks; and 2. I will accept actions in the order they are posted or in the order they are in initiative. In both cases, I make the adjustment to the players' benefit: I drop enemy initiative rolls to make a block, and I'll just pretend people delayed as necessary to get their preferred action order.

Khugron's clearly more used to decapitating than knocking out, and misses twice.

Lightning falls from the ceiling! Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28 Tygora dodges about half of it. She doesn't dodge the diving attack, though, which puts out some of her fire and damages her more than usual.

Voices rushes up and smashes her with a hammer. The earthbreaker knocks her out.

Tygora (-70 hp, +27 nonlethal, unconscious)

End of Combat!

Healing is unnecessary, so you don't need to use any consumables.

Tygora wakes up, discovering she has been bound, or however else the group sees fit to secure her.

"You couldn't just kill me," she spits out with disgust. "But I won't let you parade me in front of the oreads like some trophy. You wanted to know how I came to power here, and I'll tell you: I was invited. I made them an offer they couldn't refuse, the same offer I will make to you in return for my freedom.

I can grant three wishes.

Ask for what you want, but want what you ask for."

For the remainder of the scenario, you are essentially playing for a boon. For roleplaying purposes, you are free to ask for whatever you want. Decide amongst yourselves who is going to ask (three different people can ask, or one person can make all three requests), and make an Intelligence roll or a Wisdom roll with your request. Roleplaying your choices and/or rolls is welcome (it will make it easier for me to describe what happens), but not required.

If successful, the boon you receive will be far more limited than what you wished for in-game (assuming you wish for big things and not a sandwich or something). So in-character you can wish for 1,000,000 gp in the scenario, but your out-of-character boon won't get anywhere close to that. The scale of the boon is on par with other scenario boons.

I think Mavaro should do the talking once we decide what to wish for. He has a +4 Intelligence modifier and can grant himself +3 to each of these ability checks with his sudden insight resonant power.
Though I will happily defer if anyone can do better than a +7.

"I know that your kind, loathsome as I find you, follow through on any agreements you make. Of course, we can't have you leaving and then coming right back after we have returned home, so as part of our arrangement, you will never return to Crystalcrag, nor will you send anyone to rule here or give anyone information that would make taking over seem like a good idea."

He then turns to his companions. "As for the wishes, there are relics I have been seeking for my entire career, and it would ease my heart to know where I might find them. But perhaps such a selfish wish would only prove me to be like this tyrant."

Do not give the pregen the actual wish, even if it wears off at the end of the session.

Al is +6 to Wisdom and as his re-roll. So there are three wishes so only 3 of us get this boon? Or three wishes and we all get the boon?

She hopes we will will fight over the wishes, which I am sure she will do her best to corrupt. It might bring more good to the world to end her than to accept her bribe. Al seems to be pondering aloud rather than making a recommendation. He i not quick to violence. Unless we try to use a wish to bind her I am not sure she will honor her word. I have a thought. Lets ask the Oreads that received wishes how they fared.

"Aw, Abyss...I got all I need right here," Reggie says, patting his wolf and gesturing to his lance.

"We oughta figure out some way to use them wishes to help other folks. Or maybe we oughta just make one that'll keep her from meddlin' with folks.

"In fact, I figure one of them wishes should be that she goes to the plane of fire and never returns to the material plane. That'll limit her ability to mess with folks or comin' back for revenge," he continues.

So, that's Reggie's in character opinion. My OOC opinion is that we should ask for an ability boost. Those are the hardest things to get and have the most value in the game, in my opinion. Maybe some money or a magic item. Although...knowing how genies are, I wouldn't be surprised if there's not a negative boon that comes with it if you take the positive boon.

Mavaro: can you PM me a list of things that Papa Oxole would be looking for, any clues/progress they've made, and I'll work it into the narrative?

If asked, the oreads readily give the history of their relationship with Tygora.

"At one time, geniekin found peace on Golarion. This all changed, however, with the eruption of the Zhonar and Zhobl volcanoes in the Zho Mountains nearly a thousand years ago. These eruptions triggered terrible rockslides that buried vital mountain passes, opened erratic fissures that swallowed entire communities, and spewed volcanic ejecta that buried what remained near the mountains’ peaks. The burning devastation even ripped open small rifts to the Plane of Fire, luring fiery beasts of all sorts to Golarion. Among these was Tygora Cinderfury, an efreeti fleeing the City of Brass following a series of political miscalculations that resulted in her opprobrium. After exploring her immediate surroundings, she located our settlement, heavily damaged by the volcanoes’ eruptions.

She offered us a single wish. Knowing that repairs would take years and risk unwanted exposure to the geniekin’s Kelishite neighbors, the town’s council wished for a rebuilt settlement, seclusion, and safety from the outside world. On the one hand, Tygora honored the our desires by veiling Crystalcrag and its surrounding lands with powerful illusion magic. On the other hand, she twisted their wish to rebuild the town to fit her own needs — with her as its absolute ruler. Under her dictatorial reign, Crystalcrag has grown in influence at the expense of the our freedom and happiness, yet most of us have come to accept our safety as a fair trade for servitude."

Allanen: The INT/WIS checks are the game mechanisms for determining whether you've worded your wishes correctly. If you succeed, you will score a point towards the boon (and I'll make up a story about how you helped the world). If you fail, then you don't get the point (and I'll make up a story about how something bad, but appropriately bad, happens). There's no "catastrophic failure" scenario where you can destroy the world ... or even undo what you did during the scenario.
I mostly just need 3 INT/WIS checks, everything else is flavor.

All: To be clear, every PC will get the boon if the group is successful, and no PC will get the boon if the group is unsuccessful.

Mavaro addresses the councilor. "Well, perhaps we can use one of these wishes to give you the town you wanted, rather than the one that this tyrant gave you? I'm sure that, once Crystalcrag is back among the rest of civilization, the Pathfinder Society can assist you in developing trade and defense."

Mavaro also has a reroll. I have no problem splitting up the wishing duties; I just want to give us the best chance we can.
