A circuit of the building reveals the northern side is a massive window, but polarised so that you can't see inside. On the west side of the building, there's a loading dock leading to what looks like a brand new set of steel double-doors.

Jin:
You believe that, unless a truly masterful illusionist is at work, this building looks suffered a near direct hit from a large solar flare--though it was probably some years ago.

Zharis stands back to see if Hani and Xylian working together can get through the doors.


At first, Hani thinks it'll be a snap--just splice a wire here and snip a wire there. But just when the lock should open, it doesn't--for some reason, this backwards Pact Worlds tech rotates their digital tumblers in Base-6! But Xylian remembers reading an old imported manual on AbadarCorp vault security, and spots the problem. The doors part.

A storage area is beyond. A layer of dust lines the floor along the walls, but the central area has been on walked enough to be less dusty.
Containers have been stacked in the north corners. Labels indicate these hold provisions, including food, water, and intoxicating beverages.

To the south, a warped double door of composite material leads deeper into the building.

Good teamwork on the door--that Aid Another was the difference between success and failure.

Zharis starts opening up a couple of boxes, focusing on the ones labeled provisions and food, and if they really are that, she helps herself to enough food to get her through a week, as well as some snacks for now.


The containers really are full of provisions--enough to feed a dozen humanoids for months. But they're definitely not standard fare, as the ingredient labels show they've been laced with sulphur and contain spices so strong they could burn a hole in one's mouth!

There are 30 bulk worth of provisions here, but they are designed for those with very unusual tastes.

They seem repulsive to the simpler diet of most Telia.

He'll leave everything for now. If it can be sold, he'll be happy to reap some of the profits.


Zharis pushes open the warped door, revealing a room full of danger! Five Brass Dragon mercenaries are here, chatting noisily around a scorched bar and messy kitchen. They look up with surprise when the northern door opens and reach for weapons!

Two of the Brass Dragons (Black and White) are Sulis, while the other three (Gray, Blue, and Yellow) are Ifrits. If you want to know more about racial abilities, you can attempt a Life Sciences check as a free action on your turn.

"Cabizo...I, uhh, think you need to OPEN your eyes to aim...never mind.


Jin and Zharis take the lead, charging into the fray against the Brass Dragons. Xylian shoots a super-cooled block of ice that smashes into a table, narrowly missing one of the Sulis.

Cabizo sends a wild shot into the room--the slug bounces off the wall, ricochets off a chair, bounces between Jin's legs, and then deep into the thigh of one of the Sulis, nicking her femoral artery!

Jin and Xylian missed, and Zharis succeeds in tumbling without provoking an AoO. Cabizo does what Cabizo does!

Cabizo:
Sulis are the descendants of plane-hopping jann and mortal beings (though some have more mysterious elemental origins). They are difficult to recognize by sight since they resemble ordinary humanoids. Strong of body and personality, sulis readily survive and assimilate, making them one of the most widespread planar scions. They're somewhat resistant to most common elemental attacks, like fire, acid, cold, and electricity.

The three ifrits grab laser rifles off the table and start firing lethal blasts! Jin ducks in time, but Zharis gets scorched!

One is firing at Jin and two are firing at Zharis (who will get soft cover from Gray, but the ifrit has a special ability to reduce the cover bonus somewhat). All three are using a special 1/day ability to roll their attack rolls twice and take the better.

Jin's capture pole is a whirling nightmare, crushing one of the sulis into submission and then severely wounding the other! Shrapnel then fills the old kitchen, injuring the ifrits--but they show no sign of backing down!

Jin's first attacked dropped Black, so I applied the second attack (which hit) to White. The AoO *just* missed, however. For the grenade, Gray made the save for half damage but the other two take full damage.

Cabizo opens his eyes in wonder as the sound of ricocheting metal fills the room, then opens them even more when the bullet somehow bounces into the guard’s leg. After Jin knocks that one down, the skittermander turns his attention to the other guard at the doorway. To clear a path for the others to get in there, he reasons to himself. Yep, that’s totally why I’m not looking at the ifrits…

The intense, close-quarters firefight rages on! One of the ifrits dodges attacks from Cabizo and Xylian and then rushes forward, palm outstretched--a gout of flame pours forth, enveloping Jin and Hani! Another rushes to guard the elevator doors, sending laser blasts all over the place!

Gray is moving up and doing overheat (not worrying about an AoO since Jin's already taken his this round). Jin and Hani, you take 6 F (DC 10 Reflex save for half).

Yellow shoots at Jin and Blue shoots at Zharis. Both hit. Jin, you take 4 F. Zharis, you take 6 F.
