Murg brings in a strong overhand and delivers a fatal strike on the Pathra. As the body hits the floor, you hear the music announcing Miiyu’s opening number blaring out of the auditorium, only slightly muffled by the closed doors.
You get the immediate gut feel that something is going down, and you need to act swiftly.

Murgatroyd checks the operative's body for a remote control, detonator, or similar ominous device - not that he would be very good at recognizing such technology.

![]() |

Murgatroyd is purposely lost, since he's not great at anything other than punching opponents - he doesn't understand the evil plot at all

Shifty |

Kyra is first up the stairs, Gulkyn chasing behind.
At the top of the grand glass staircase are three closed doors, which operate on identical mechanical hinges. When one door opens, the others move along with it. The doors are made of a beautiful white wood, inlaid with carvings of musical notes and scores. Just beyond them, the sound of percussive beats can be heard, along with the sounds of a crowd beginning to panic.

![]() |

Murgatroyd starts moving after his colleagues.

![]() |

Speaker for the Dead spares a moment to try to save the life of the other foe. Then, trailing behind his companions, he skitters as quickly as he can for the auditorium.

![]() |

Seeing and feeling the blast as Kyra opens the door, Gulkyn will pull out his fire extinguisher, to put her and any other fires out.

Shifty |

You force the doors open just as the gas is starting to release and the crowd is beginning to panic. Since the doors all open at once, the attendees start flooding out of the auditorium, following the directions of the security team, who were also trapped inside the room. The fleeing crowd is difficult to push through but you do.
Miiyu is frozen in shock on the stage, watching the crowd flee before realizing that you are coming her way. She slips backstage, but ultimately, there’s nowhere for her to go where your team, aided by security, can't find her - so she surrenders outside her dressing room
As you corner Miiyu, she slowly turns to face you with her hands in the air. She has obviously given up but holds her head high and proud as she regards you all.
“I should have known when you boarded that this plan wasn’t going to work. I told them that you were too smart to be fooled by some punch and a pretty smile.” She laughs bitterly and lowers her hands to her sides.
“It was just supposed to be a demonstration. The explosion would stop the ship in its tracks—without hurting anyone—and then they’d all have to listen to my song. Jiira never told me about the poison. Seeing all of this,” Miiyu gestures to the fleeing crowd and the panicked civilians “I realize now how oblivious I was and how he was willing to take advantage of that"
“If you let me go, I can promise to report back to our leaders with the truth behind Jiira’s plans. The wider movement won’t stand for even one civilian sacrifice. We can be better than this. I promise you that. Our revolution will still move forward, but with my eyes open, I can push for better leaders at the helm of our operations"
“You can turn me in to the Veskarium authorities, and I won’t blame you. I made a terrible decision by trusting Jiira. But turning me in will only create a new political toy for the vesk to tout around the galaxy. It will prevent my knowledge and decisions from getting back to the true leaders of the Liberators. But it’s up to you, Starfinders.”

If Speaker for the Dead's face wasn't hidden behind a mask, it would be obvious he was stricken by Miyuu's role in the sabotage. "But this one thought that this one and that one . . . connected. This one has much to ponder." Speaker for the Dead moves slowly into a corner to think deeply about the difficult choice before the group.
I'd like to try a Sense Motive check to see whether Speaker thinks Miyuu is sincere about her disavowal of violence.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

"There is no negotiating with terrorists, Miiyu. You are under arrest - I pray that Iomedae will enlighten your way and you'll turn in your accomplices before they hurt people again.” Murgatroyd doesn’t even need a fraction of a second to decide for the path of justice.
"I promisse I won't do it again!" Yeah, right...

![]() |

"Doubt the vesk'd like it, but...maybe we can get you in Starfinder custody for long enough someone smarter than me than weigh in. Come with us for now?" Benny doesn't look happy, but still his command to the now-prisoner sounds more like a question.

It seems to be my night for getting explosions in the face Kyra says as she is put out. Thank you Gulkyn.
She looks annoyed. Her ceremonial robes are ruined and .... is she missing an eyebrow?
Upon catching up with Miiyu, Kyra ponders for a moment.
Logic tells me that I should turn you in she says. But Sarenrae is about redemption and forgiveness. Also, I would prefer it if your song and story is heard. There is no need for more senseless bloodshed and, if there is a way for the Pathra and the Vesk to come to a peaceful resolution about Vesk-6 ... err ... Pulonis ... , I believe that avenue should be explored, and maybe you can help implement that.
So I am agreeing with Benacu on this
And I am definitely re-visiting Vesk-2 after this before returning to the Pact Worlds. Hmm. If it was possible for the Veskarium to officially acknowledge the original names of these worlds, it could be a step in the right direction.

Unless the Sense Motive check reveals deception, Speaker for the Dead is leaning towards the "keep her out of Veskarium hands" option. Reading the Near Space book recently really opened my eyes to just how problematic the Veskarium is . . .

Shifty |

* You don’t think Miyuu is lying, she seems to come across as both overly idealistic and pretty naive.
* Taking her as an obvious prisoner will probably be an issue with the Veskarium. They are the civil authority, so you have no power of arrest. So you’d need to smuggle her out somehow, which may involve lying… which may be compromised as there’s already a living captive the Vesk hold as you stabilised the first fallen foe.
