Having visited a fairly recent seminar on reviving the dead and undead implications of some cases, you know you are fortunate.
Given the Asuran zombie is still its own natural form, revival is possible. The church would merely require the body of the dead.
Were the victim turned into an undead where the body needs to be destroyed, such as vampires, ghouls, ghosts or shadows, more heavy divine intervention is called for.
Last round...
aoo menarul vs rising Asuran: 1d20 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 4 = 21 1d12 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Menarul ttack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 191d12 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Menarul had dealt 10 blunt dmg previous round.
=========================
Current round,
Slam vs Menarul, profane: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26 Dmg, profane: 1d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10
Menarul is dealt an unexpected haymaker, but the odds
Kavendell's wand distorts part of the lingering dark energy animating Asuran's body.
You'll mop that up within the round, so handwave to combat over.
After the pathfinders' efforts, the energy animating Asuran's body is gone. No exterior damage was dealt to his body, and he looks just as before.
Further in the room, you find a chained up zombie, a human by the looks of it, dressed in green and burgondy clothing, wearing a backpack. It too, is quickly dealt with. By the description given, this used to be poor young Wuthers.
Which leaves the question....what will you do with the dark evil boulder? Destroying it will take a lot of time, though one could also have the society salvage it for study, all attached risks included.

Menarul would have only had an AoO on the cleric. He's carrying a reach weapon. Sorry for not getting a post in earlier, I completely blitzed this thread yesterday. Thank you for botting him.
Having tries to keep the damages on Asuran's body minimal with his wand, Menarul takes a moment to toss some more of the salt that brightens the flames into one of the nearby lamps and then takes a long look at the boulder in the room.
"Personally I'm of the mind we should just break the cursed thing into tiny pieces and the mix them into a holy water slurry before having a priest bless the whole mix and finally lining some celestial temple walkway with the thing, just to completely rub it into what's-his-damned-name's face for killing all these people here, and Asuran in particular... But what's everyone else's opinion on the matter? "

Is knocked out still out in the hallway.
She does have a wand on her if anyone could grab it and knock a couple of hit points into her.

"Ok, let me try to destroy that altar" Arbiscar will go and smash into pieces as small as possible all of Zyphus symbols of power here.

![]() |

"Neither this opera house nor this grand city should endure such a malignancy any further." Kavendell notes, giving his ascent to destroying the altar.
He heads over to Enta, utilizing her wand enough times to bring her to consciousness.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
He then undertakes the grim task of retrieving the bodies of the fallen Pathfinders for passage to a nearby church, assuming that the clergy of the Master of the First Vault have the means and sufficient desire for coin to see the task to completion.

The Zyphus boulder's dreaded influence extends, it seems, into hallucinations of fears of might be or have been. For in fact, Asuran was only heavily injured, but not dead, upon closer inspection of Kavendell.
He gets both Etna and Asuran back to the waking world, while Arbiscar heads up the stairs to wreck the stone.
Arbiscar, you'll be doing a long overtime. The stone has hardness, and DR 5/magic. It also has a huge amount of HP.

Arbiscar devotes himself to the long task of shattering the altar "By all the older dwarves beards, this is some serious mining experience!"
CLW (remove fear): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
CLW (bless): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
CLW (pearl of power I): 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
After tossing some healing on his companions, the dwarf keeps striking the altar once and again until it is broken.
"I promise you, I am not coming back to the Opera!"

Meanrul takes a moment to down his extract of enlarge person and then starts pounding at the stone with an enlarged hammer.
Sadly his hammer isn't magic, but he does do 3d6+5 per hit for a few minutes. It should help with reducing the stone to rubble faster.
He gives a laugh as he starts to fil the space. "Doubt you have to worry about the opera starting up again. I'm willing to bet it's been cancelled for a few days at least. I mean the blood stains alone would make take a few days to clean."

"Blasphemous," mutters Kavendell, though it is not entirely clear whether the statement is with regard to the dreaded boulder or the thought of cancelling a performance due to a single, unfortunate incident.

"Must... crush pathfinders. Asuran says groggily as he gets up, visions of Zyphus-infused magic animating his corpse. He shakes it off and eventually on all fours gets out of the slippery part with his magical +1 lucerne hammer.
Even without his rage, he could still do 1d12+8 damage every six seconds. That's 72.5 damage per minute (on average), and 4350 damage in an hour.

Etna will blink from the ground.
"Everything hurts"
She will stumble to her feet before moving over to watch.
"I don't know if we should break the rock. I mean, it's pretty evil looking and I understand why but what if it explodes or releases something really bad? Shouldn't we get a team here to bring it back?"

GM Chyro |

*enter black helicopters to take away the stone*
Whichever approach is taken dealing with the stone, the lady of the team searches the body of the now twice-dead Wuthers, as the boys are playing with big toys men are busy with the boulder.
His backpack is emptied, but a chest tucked away in the far corner of the chamber holds documents and a journal, likely to have been his. As well as a small stack of pamflets meant for other cultists.
Deciding to leave the accursed theater as quickly as possible, one of the men hoists Wuthers' body over his shoulder, and -carefully- navigates through the slick tunnels.
Arbiscar and Etna find the survivors, plus some wandering other survivors, gathered in the main hall. The little girl hugs Etna and Arbiscar, happy the nice halfling lady and the strong looking dwarf man are safe.
"Can you walk me to auntie's house?", she asks.
A small detour to drop the little one off, and the team arrives at the Venture Captain's office.
=====================================================
She looks up from reading some documents,
"Ah, you're back. What have you discovered?"

Arbiscar smiles to the girl and helps her back to her auntie's house.
"Well, we found the excavation, but I am sorry to say this Wuthers turned to Zyphus or Zyphus fell on him, I am not sure how that worked" Arbiscar grumbles "What it is sure is there will not be more Opera in Oppara in a while"

GM Chyro |

Absolutely not, small human." the barbarian growls at the little girl.
Humanitarian organizations want a word with you. :)
Poor child just lost her family here. The venture captain gets a look of sadness for moment, then looks back to you.
"Thank you for the information. And what do you mean with 'Zyphus', and a temporary pause of Operas?"

![]() |

"Some god named Zyphus who somehow makes accidents happen on purpose so they aren't really accidents had his clerics raise a bunch of zombies to try and steal that stone. I'm sure they will get the operas going once the initial horror of the event fades to memory."

The venture captain is visibly disgusted and concerned at the same time.
"That's horrible!"
She looks out of the window, then back at you.
"Such a cleanup will take time. What was that about a stone?"
