Only when throwing things. This is a bow attack.
Menarul sends an arrow which this time strikes true. Which is kind of a silly sight, an arrow sticking out of what otherwise be a vital artery, and the target still moving.
-------------------
Bugbear zombie (-35) swings its fist at Asuran.
SLam: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 201d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
It lands a solid punch on Asuran's jaw.

Aid another: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Thanks to my helpful trait you get a +3 to your swing Asuran. Since I technically go before you I think it should apply for a 18 total on your attack roll.
| GM Chyro |
And with that little bit of help of distraction, Asuran slays the bugbear zombie.
Combat over.
With the brief encounter over, you take in the sight around you. And it is a horrific massacre, with the bodies of zombies and people aplenty on the floor.
All is eerily quiet.

"One of you, use this, make me feel better," Asuran produces his wand of cure light wounds
"What caused this? Not normal in o-per-ah, right?" The nagaji wonders outloud.

Menarul takes the wand and gives it a long look for a second before waving it around the nagaji twice. "There does that help?"
He looks at the dead and dead undead around him and frowns. "We should probably get moving before there's more undead or someone recovers enough to wonder what the hell we are doing. We could use the moment to act panicked or like we are going to hunt down more of the undead and keep them out of this area. Etna, I'll handle that cut for you. Any objections? Alright let's get moving."
The half-elf hands Asuran back his wand and pulls out his own instead. He gives a small wave over the halfling knight and a few sparks of green fly from the tip, healing the parts of the wound they touch.
CLW wand: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
It sputters pathetically, and Menarul gives it a few whacks trying again.

"Well, that was unexpected. Still, it may have been the diversion we need to begin our investigation," declares Kavendell. "If we are to searching for a 'dig', then we should be on the lookout for a stairwell or some other means of entry to any substructure."
He searches for some path below ground.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

Kavendell finds nothing of note in the hall. He does notice that the zombies are in a various states of decay, some more 'fresh' than others.
In fact, the ones most 'fresh', wear attire more suited to people playing orchestra, or acting.
He gets the impression this event may have been orchestrated well in advance.
Which leaves the question, what direction will you explore first?
Menarul
|
Once the outfits of the newer zombies is pointed out to him, Menarul points up stage and towards the curtains. "We should probably check out the place the orchestra was playing from earlier.... but if these were the people playing the songs why didn't we hear them getting eaten?"

"For the Silver Crusade! We cannot leave this place infested by zombies" Arbiscar frowns and points to the stage too "We must destroy all of them and the undead lord that surely is creating them before anything else"
Arbiscar moves through the alley looking at side and side for more zombies, then steps over the stage and moves away the curtains to, very resolved, open the doors to the changing chambers, or whatever is there behind.

"Taldans are a well-mannered and civilized people with decorum." Kavendell interjects. "Even in undeath, I would expect a scion of Taldor to chew politely and quietly."
He follows Arbiscar to the area he suspects is the changing room, though he keeps some distance behind the dwarf, an effort to avoid an onlooker associating the two, and makes a point of appearing more proper and upstanding in his approach to the area to mask his prurient curiosities.
Etna Luul

"Thanks for patching me up. That zombie got a good hit on me."
Before she does much searching she will try to find any survivors that can possibly be saved or stabilized. Assuming that is not the case she sighs.
"I hate these sorta things. Poor people were just trying to enjoy a show. I say we explore those doors on the stage where everyone left through. They seemed to realize something weird was going on before the zombies even attacked."

They are in no condition to speak to, however, being scared out of their mind.
Abiscar ascends the stage, seeing two doors flanking it, and cautiously pulls aside the heavy curtain. Behind it, all is clear, and the door to the backstage is closed.
Arbiscar
|
"Get out of this place before it is too late. Let the city guard know" Arbiscar spits out at the survivors before continuing into the stage.
"The behind curtain is clear. Let's see what's behind the doors" after a quick check for traps on the doors, the Abadar worshiper opens the double doors.

Arbiscar

Arbiscar shrugs "Oh well, or you can stay here and wait for us to become zombies and devour you, of course. You are free to do as you wish with your lives" then resumes his advance over the stage.
There, the dwarf opens the double doors to see what is behind.
| GM Chyro |
Arbiscar pushes open the doors, revealing a backstage area.
The floors are painted black and the walls are covered in dozens of painted handbills and posters of previous operas performed here. Dozens of
costume racks and painted backdrops are set up here to be wheeled out on stage for the proper scenes.
It would be interesting to stay and take in, were the atmosphere not so grim. Suddenly, there is a sudden screaming from behind nearby doors.
Coming from the room with the purple carpet.
Asuran of Valashmai
|
Mighty Asuran will go to the doors and try to push them open. If that doesn't work, he then will attempt to pull them open. He'll take a moment to rearrange his weapons so he had one hand on his trust Lucrene Hammer.
| GM Chyro |
The doors do indeed open, upon which Asuran sees zombies corner a few survivors, whilest a man in armor, wielding a wicked looking pickaxe stands nearby.
"For Father Grim, for Fel Bustrani, consume them and multiply!"
As the doors open, the man notices you.
"Minions, new prey."
Their dead heads and milky eyes now turn to you....
