Season of Ghosts

Tiera is quick to enhance her weapon and edge forward, though she takes care not to charge too far ahead of her allies. Instead, she directs a blast of missiles at the walking worm in the back, which connect and leave numerous small burns marks in the thing's clothing. As she does this, Guy can feel the earlier magic he cast over you all fade away.

Hide from Undead has now faded.

The Ghost Writer slinks over to the northern wall and fires an arrow at Blue Ghoul - but even with having caught the ghoul unawares, the shot misses and harmlessly *plinks* off the far wall.

*HISSSSSS!*

All four of the ghouls move to attack, filthy claws grasping and teeth gnashing in anticipation! Pink and Green head for Tiera while Blue and Orange go for the Ghost Writer...

Pink vs. Tiera (Bite): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Green vs. Tiera (Bite): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Blue vs. Ghost Writer (Bite): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

...but none of them manage to gain purchase with their sharp teeth. Orange spends all his energy just getting up into the Ghost Writer's space to begin with.

Underfoot:

Underfoot Assault (Ex): At 1st level, if a foe whose size is larger than the mouser’s is adjacent to her and misses her with a melee attack, the mouser can as an immediate action spend 1 panache point to move 5 feet into an area of the attacker’s space. This movement does not count against the mouser’s movement the next round, and it doesn’t provoke attacks of opportunity. While the mouser is within a foe’s space, she is considered to occupy her square within that foe’s space. While the mouser is within her foe’s space, the foe takes a –4 penalty on all attack rolls and combat maneuver checks not made against the mouser, and all of the mouser’s allies that are adjacent to both the foe and the mouser are considered to be flanking the foe. The mouser is considered to be flanking the foe whose space she is within if she is adjacent to an ally who is also adjacent to the foe. The mouser can move within her foe’s space and leave the foe’s space unhindered and without provoking attacks of opportunity, but if the foe attempts to move to a position where the mouser is no longer in its space, the movement provokes an attack of opportunity from the mouser. This deed replaces opportune parry and riposte.

Season of Ghosts

Sorry Tiera, brain-farted on that.

As Pink Ghoul attempts to clumsily strike at Tiera the sylph easily parries the attack and strikes back with one of her own, obliterating the undead menace!

'Bubba' and Aiden move to tag-team Blue Ghoul, knives slicing and dicing wide wounds into the creature's skin, while Guy whips out his rod and delivers a fiery blast directly into the temple!

Blue completely fails to avoid the blast and is incinerated, while Green manages to partially duck the blast - yet the fire is still too hot, too powerful, and Green also collapses in a blackened heap! Molos continues focusing on the wormy spellcaster, delivering another round of missiles to the face.

"Hmm...seems you need something else to occupy your time," the walking worm hisses as he begins casting yet another spell...

Spellcraft (DC 17):

Surprised but pleased to find the way forward clear of ghouls, Bubba leaves the swarm to those better equipped to deal with such things and hustles forward, drawing out a special vial of holy water as he does.

Aiden *is* able to sink his teeth into the vile mess but finds that the creature seems remarkably resilient to the attack, shrugging off most of the damage.

Molos fares better though as he shrugs off the spider poison and blasts Wormy with another round of magical missiles!

The Ghostwriter unfurls his duster, revealing a set of jet black raven wings. He leaps into the air and takes flight, flying five feet above the ground as he moves away from the spiders and in the direction of the necromancer.

Realizing that his more melee-oriented companions are having some trouble Molos continues blasting away with his magical missiles, leaving Wormy full of holes and appearing on the verge of collapse.

Luckily, a bit of teamwork from Aiden and Bubba finally puts an end to the mess - Aiden's blade connects and manages to do just enough damage to finish the nasty spellcaster off for good!

"Heh...no matter," he laughs weakly as he staggers and drops to his knees. "You will perish, just as the Society will perish, when the Great Worm arrives! Listen! It comes..."

The creature collapses into a pile of individual worms that writhe and wriggle weakly before slowly growing still; his summoned spider swarm also dissipates. An eerie silence falls over the temple...but as you listen, you become aware of a rumbling sound that grows louder and louder...and comes from below the stones beneath your feet.

The tremors grow both more violent and more rapid until suddenly the earth bulges up and explodes in a shower of dust and mud! Rising from the hole is a nightmarish creature made of putrid flesh and noxious fluids. Vaguely wormlike, this huge creature's mouth is made of rows of teeth and retracting mandibles. Unable to sense the one that summoned it, the worm rears back...

"SCREEEEEEEE!"

...and moves to attack!

Claw, claw, bite routine that all should do sneak attack damage -- if it's immune to sneak attacks, let me know. This would mean a lot of Aiden's abilities don't work.

Sneak attack Damage (ST): 1d6 + 4 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + (4) = 12

Now in position, the Ghost Writer slashes at the worm with a powerful claw, taking advantage of his position to do a little extra damage in the process.

Dodging Panache (Ex): At 1st level, when an opponent attempts a melee attack against the swashbuckler, the swashbuckler can as an immediate action spend 1 panache point to move 5 feet; doing so grants the swashbuckler a dodge bonus to AC equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 0) against the triggering attack. This movement doesn’t negate the attack, which is still resolved as if the swashbuckler had not moved from the original square. This movement is not a 5-foot step; it provokes attacks of opportunity from creatures other than the one who triggered this deed. The swashbuckler can only perform this deed while wearing light or no armor, and while carrying no heavier than a light load.
