Fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
As the creature falls before it can reach Hack-It, Dunk spins the Spear around and stabs out at the beast still remaining.
Spear of Golarion,Inferno Flame Doshko: 1d20 + 21 - 6 ⇒ (2) + 21 - 6 = 17
F Damage: 5d8 + 23 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 2, 3) + 23 = 38
Spear of Golarion,Inferno Flame Doshko: 1d20 + 21 - 6 ⇒ (16) + 21 - 6 = 31

F Damage: 5d8 + 23 ⇒ (8, 5, 3, 7, 2) + 23 = 48
Gig Razorbyte
With one fiend down, and Booker back on the job, Gig uses his arcane powers to cast Magic Missile. He directs three magic missiles straight to his target and Gig watches in anticipation as they blast into the undead foe.
Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 + 6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3) + 3 + 6 = 19
Hack-It
Hack-It and Hum turn their attention to the remaining... thing. They're weapons blast out sonic fury!
Hack-It vs Red: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29
Damage (Sonic): 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5) + 6 = 16
Hum vs Red: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
Damage (Sonic): 3d8 + 13 ⇒ (7, 4, 7) + 13 = 31
Game Master S
Gig's missiles take out the remaining creature, but the intense supernatural radiation continues to tear through Dunklezahn and Hack-it.
For slaying the two otherworldly beasts the part earns 25,600 XP.
The death of the creatures also brings about the end of the supernatural radiation....
Gig Razorbyte
"Phew!" Gig sighs. "That was close. Booker you were looking a little confused there for a minute. I hope you would remember that we are your friends and all."
Gig continues to look around the room for anything of interest.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Game Master S
Within minutes, the walls receed a bit, turning solid and looking like any other wall.
The laboratory showcases evidence of the Sivv Dominion’s cruelty. The three examination tables are clearly set up for nonconsensual experimentation. There is a workstation here. Nefri absolutely refuses to enter the room, but does remind you that there's a secret door in the north east.
Booker Broadshaw
"Yeah, I remember, I remember," Booker snaps. He rolls a fresh cigarette and takes a few puffs until his heart rate comes back down.
Taking 10 minutes and spending 1 RP to recover stamina. Also reloading.
After a while he starts poking around for the secret door. T10 Perception: 10 + 16 = 26
Dunklezahn

While Booker smokes a fat one, Dunk takes the same time to clean his spear.
10 minutes to spend 1 RP to recover stamina
Torin Janzi
Janzi gives Dunk a look-over to make sure there are no lingering effects from the radiation.
Medicine: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (3) + 20 = 23
Game Master S
There is no way in hell Booker would ever find the secret door if he didn't know there was one to find, but find it he does.
Meanwhile Janzi gives Dunk a clean bill of health. The party just assumes that Hack-it has one too.
Torin Janzi
Janzi takes a look. Take 10 on Perception for 33.
Torin Janzi
Looks okay to me. Lemme see if I can open it. He turns to Munro's camera. A secret door! Wonder if it will take us to the Conservatory, with the candlestick...
Janzi tries to open the door.
Gig Razorbyte
"Are there buttons to push? I am really good at finding the right sequence if buttons are involved."
Computers to open door: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (3) + 26 = 29
Hack-It
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Also going to spend RP to recover stamina. This doesn't help with the hp damage
Hack-It rolls his eyes. For kicks he presses a few buttons on his wrist console, sending a targeted electromagnetic pulse that momentarily disrupts Munro's camera. When the camera man stops to check what's wrong, Hack-It chuckles.
Game Master S
Janzi moves to open the door as Gig approaches. Suddenly a magitech field appears near the door reaching out to just past Booker!
Digitized sensory information overloads your minds! Each takes Elec: 10d12 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 4, 2, 7, 7, 3, 10, 9) = 55 DMG and are confused for Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Will DC 21 halves the damage and negates confusion. Sorry Janzi, you needed to roll a bit higher than a 10. Will switch to initiative if any of you fail.
Hack-It
Will save (Hack-It): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Will save (Hum, if needed): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Torin Janzi
Will save: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Game Master S
Janzi's mind is overwhelmed by the sensory data!
Booker: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Dunklezahn: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Gig: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Hack-it: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Janzi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Booker: Save
Dunklezahn: Go
Gig: Save
Hack-it: Go
Janzi: TBD
Gig Razorbyte
Gig who does not normally have good willpower chews his gum and scratches his head as the digitized sensory information bombards his mind.
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Game Master S
Booker keeps his wits, but Gig starts acting like he just replaced all his musical knowledge with a StarSugarHeartlove album...
Booker: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Dunklezahn: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Gig: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Hack-it: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Janzi: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Round 1:
Dunklezahn: Go
Hack-it: Go
Booker: Go
Gig: TBD
Janzi: TBD
Booker Broadshaw
"Nice eyes, Janzi," Booker growls, shaking his head. He sees that the lashunta is under and goes to disarm him. "Think I'll take that gun for a minute, bud."
Disarm Check DC 31: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Janzi is too quick for Booker on the first go, but he'll try again.
Side note: I really, really dislike the Starfinder rules for combat maneuvers.
Dunklezahn
|
Agree with you there. Combat maneuvers suck in Starfinder, IMHO
Dunk moves in and tries give Gig a big hug.
Grapple Check: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26
Game Master S
Dunklzahn and Booker both try to stop their teammates from doing anything loopy, but neither succeeds.
Round 1:
Dunklezahn: Miss
Hack-it: Go
Booker: Miss
Gig: TBD
Janzi: TBD
Hack-It
"What a fricken idiot," Hack-It grumbles at having to help good ol' Torin Janzi. The consummate a-hole. "Hey Munro! Hope you're filming this."
Hack-It moves behind Dunklezahn, then punches a few commands into his wrist console. In turn it sends out a targeted EMP pulse at the rinky-dink pistol the lashunta holds, looking to disable it.
Overload (DC 22 Reflex) on Janzi's pistol. As a standard action, you can cause a short in an electronic device, including most ranged energy weapons, melee weapons with the powered special property, or a single armor upgrade. This makes the device nonfunctional for 1 round
Torin Janzi
Munro shakes his head. Had a glitch in the camera feed, and I'm trying to figure it out now. :-)
DC 22 Refl: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 YAAS
Game Master S
Gig: 1d100 ⇒ 25 Act Normally
Janzi: 1d100 ⇒ 51 Beat yourself in the face stupidly.
Hack-it shorts out Janzi's gun, but the lashunta just rams the barrel into his eye DMG: 1d8 ⇒ 7

Booker: Miss
Gig: Act Normally
Janzi: You'll shoot your eye out!

Torin Janzi
Gig Razorbyte
While Gig has a moment to think straight, he casts Dispel Magic on Janzi to try and clear his mind as he is clearly affected by something foul.
Caster Level Check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Game Master S
Gig tries to dispel the effect, but he fails to undo the magitech. Booker also fails to pull the gun.
Round 2:
Dunklezahn: Go
Hack-it: Go
Booker: Fail
Gig: TBD
Janzi: TBD
Dunklezahn
|
Seeing Gig snap out of it, Dunk tries to restrain Janzi from hurting himself.
Grapple: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29
Hack-It
Hack-It smirks as the mind mage remains crazy. "Let me know when we need to put him down," he says, holding his pistol at the ready.
Delay
Game Master S
Dunk finds that wrestling is abnormally hard. Gig's eyes stay clear a bit longer!
Gig 2 of 4: 1d100 ⇒ 11
Janzi 2 of 4: 1d100 ⇒ 96
Round 2:
Dunklezahn: Miss
Booker: Fail
Gig: Go (Act Normally)
Hack-it: Go
Janzi: Will attack nearest on turn
Hack-It
"Yeah, seriously. Come back." Hack-It says, moving back and leaning casually against the wall. His tone suggests that he's really ambivalent on the subject.
Torin Janzi
Janzi wheels on Booker. You! You took everything from me! EVERYTHING!
He uses the combat rifle as club and swings at the soldier. I'll treat it like a polyclub since he's adjacent. Same modifier.
combat rifle: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (4) + 12 - 4 = 12
bludgeoning: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7
combat rifle: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 12 - 4 = 23
bludgeoning: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7
Munro, his camera finally working, stands mouth agape as he captures every bit of Janzi's fruitless assault.
Game Master S
Janzi continues to go berserk. Gig's magic hasn't helped, and it might be only a matter of time before he loses his mind again...
Round 3 of 4:
Dunklezahn: Go
Booker: Go
Gig: TBD
Hack-it: TBD
Janzi: TBD
Dunklezahn
|
I sorta picture Andre the Giant trying to catch The Dread Pirate Roberts in a bear hug.
Dunk again tries to restrain Janzi.
Grapple: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38
Game Master S
Dunk finally embraces Janzi!
Round 3 of 4:
Dunklezahn: Different tactics than fighting half a dozen people
Booker: Go
Gig: TBD
Hack-it: TBD
Janzi: TBD
Game Master S
Booker, playing nice, can't get the gun out of Janzi's addled hands.
Gig: 1d100 ⇒ 5
Janzi: 1d100 ⇒ 60
Round 3 of 4:
Dunklezahn: Different tactics than fighting half a dozen people
Booker: Miss
Gig: Go
Hack-it: Go
Janzi: Punches himself in the eye for DMG: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Dunklezahn
|
If the result of your attack roll equals or exceeds the target’s KAC + 13, the target is instead pinned for the same duration, and she can’t take any actions that involve moving her limbs other than to attempt to escape.
38 > 23+13. So, Janzi is Pinned and can't punch himself in the eye.
Janzi needs a DC46 Acrobatics check to escape
Torin Janzi
Which Janzi will never hit.
Game Master S
In the interest of moving on:
Gig: 1d100 ⇒ 46
Janzi: 1d100 ⇒ 95
Gig's words quickly turn to incoherent babbling, while Dunk keeps Janzi wrapped up. Eventually the two calm down and regain their senses.
For avoiding the worst of it (no one died) the party earns 25,600 XP.
Your lone charge is now in the hallway in a fetal position rocking back and forth in PTS.
Gig Razorbyte
"I feel like that guy looks. I sure don't like that kind of mind altering powers. How are the rest of you guys doing? Hack, I'm glad you didn't try and take my gum. I may have tried to use one of my spells against you."
"Alright, Booker. What do we do next?"
Booker Broadshaw
"Gotta deal w' him, I think," Booker motions to the whimpering academic. "Janzi, you sensible enough to talk some sense into 'im?"
I can Intimidate him, but we should try Diplomacy first.
