Ok, good news:
1st, I can finally log on the site after a week of problems. Yay!
2nd, I have two players from another game that has ended that are willing join us here. I gave them the link to this thread and should be able to join us shortly. Now we just need to get pass your current exploration to see about getting their character introduced.

Kyras Darksoul |

Greetings all. I am the second player from the other game. Been having issues logging on but seems to have gotten by them for now. Kyras is a traps focused investigator. Will level him up to 9 and be ready to play soon. .

Kyras Darksoul |

Rannik,
I had asked you a couple questions about my build in a PM. Was waiting to update my alias until I heard back. Pretty much ready to do though except for those questions.

Kyras Darksoul |

My alias is updated and ready to go. Considered hard dipping a level of fighter but decided against it. This group has good fighters.

A good choice. Kyras is the sort of guy this party needs, I think. He's skilled, and no slouch in a fight.

It is going to take some time to get used to not write Hoga! ;)
Ok, so I've been thinking about the best way to introduce your characters. I'm not sure how familiar you are with this adventure path.
Here is the link to the previous gameplay thread. From the look of it, they have gone through a few GM before I took over, so it doesn't go all the way back to the start.
As for your characters. You have been looking for a gnome called Jabbyr for almost a year now. You were hire in Oppara, Taldor to find the gnome and bring him back alive. The gnome had critical information about a treasure ship that was lost at sea. You tracked the gnome through multiples countries, he was captured by an another group. They shipped gnome to Korvosa, hoping to keep it out of your reach. You were able to take out the other group and went again after the gnome.
When you got to Korvosa, you found the city in turmoil and the chaos made it difficult to get the gnome's whereabout. Two week ago, you finally located your quarry and after a week of planning, you assaulted the place. Sadly, the assault didn't go as plan and you ended up losing half your team and got capture. The man in charge, the self-proclaimed Emperor Pilts, decided to turn the two of you in gladiators for his own amusement. So far you refused to fight each other and all magical attempt to persuaded you as failed. But time and the lack of food is starting to take their toll.
Currently you are tied to post in the room at the bottom of the stairs. Map for reference The quality of your shackles and the exhaustion from the last few days has prevented you from escaping. Your gear his in a locked chest in the room.
Any questions so far?

Good here. A side note that makes this even better is that Kyras is +19 escape artist, BUT that skill is tied to his headband of vast intelligence. which is of course, locked in the chest. lol

I'm starting to think my character may be a little overpowered for this game. It's no fun for everyone else if he can easily trivialize what should be a challenge solved by all of us. I could replace him with another caster who isn't quite as powerful.
I have one in mind. She's a sorcerer, and while she wouldn't be as godlike as Seltyn, she has a lot of personality, and could still be useful.
Say hi to Flori the Fabulous!
She'd be a strong caster at 9th level, but not over the top. She'd have a 16 strength and not suck at melee, which could be entertaining, too.
Opinions?

Seltyn Sevenleaf |

He can cast 5th level wizard spells.
His blasts are really strong, focused on Fireball. Fireballs in the city, while effective in the short term, tend to burn down anything not made of stone, and draw plenty of attention.
With all his invisibility and teleportation spells, he could get the Seneschal out pretty much by himself. That leaves everyone else with not much to do.
Seltyn could turn invisible, and use magic to go in, find the guy,
bypass whatever chains, locks, etc. are holding him, and just blink on out of there. Cool, but not fun for the fighters.
This game just seems more of a city-based thing. If we will eventually be going out into the wild and exploring dungeons and such, and fighting large numbers of enemies, then he'd be more in his groove.
It was just a thought. Maybe I'm fretting over nothing. If an evoker has a bunch of blasts ready, but there's no need for them, I guess that limits him in its own way.

Kyras Darksoul |

Invisibility is not a be-all, end-all spell. I doubt you could go in alone and get him out. Not sure you could even find him. Doors, certainly some locked, have be opened. Spell casting is loud without silent spell, Dogs and horses have scent, and there are other casters out there. At least wait until there is an issue.

Rannik |

Well right now, you are far from the mansion. The barricade you are facing is to get into Fort Korvosa. You can use invisibility to pas that problem, but unless you spend another night after that to relearn it, you still need to find a way pass the walls of the mansion and explore the mansion itself. So, I don't see Seltyn as op for solving 1 problem with spells while still having a whole bunch of others obstacle to pass.
Also, forgot to mention, but Salvator, Laori, and Callie stayed behind.

Alika Karela |

Let's see where it goes before making any drastic changes, though if you just want to play a different caster, play a different caster!
You may have 9th-level powers but you'll face 9th-level challenges. We'll certainly run into foes with tremorsense, into areas with magical traps, and into targets that are encased in forcecages or stasis or under magical curses that have to be circumvented.

Seltyn Sevenleaf |

Yeah. The other character is an entertaining concept, and she's got a lot of personality. I've played Seltyn a lot more, though. He's smart, and a good strategist, but his personality is kinda meh.
Flori would go to a town and want to shop in every shop and feast in every tavern and swap tales 'til closing time. Seltyn would prefer to go to bed early and bury his nose in some obscure book, learning stuff he'll probably never use.
I'll stick with him.

Alika Karela |

Alika can do silence, of course, but then we can neither see nor hear each other. If Seltyn can get invisibility sphere, that lets everyone under the effect still see each other. We might want someone to have nondetection if possible so that they can't be spotted by see invisibility.

Seltyn Sevenleaf |

I'd like to get my hands on some new spells. Invisibility Purge and Nondetection. Rolls to see if Seltyn knows where he might find them, for a price.

Thank you everyone,
I am home and resting as best as I can. Covid is not fun to get. I will be back up to normal posting rate soon. Since I am self quarantining, I will be using my laptop for posts. It may be a bit hard to view maps right now but I will make do.

Related to that - I got my second Moderna vaccine yesterday. Some body aches but no other symptoms.
