As it happens, you incur enough successes to take no damage and get a surprise round in the next encounter

The enormous hangar bay you land into is all but empty—only a few badly damaged jinsul starships ships sit on the metal alloy floor. Four jinsul engineers and a supervising jinsul praetorium are working on one ship. As soon as you land you get the drop on them and open fire.

Let's call the engineers, red, blue, green and yellow and the supervisor purple. You all get one round of actions before initiatives. Map should be up shortly. Please place your token where you end up after your turn

Okay, my best guess from what I have seen is that, in a surprise round, the drone gets a move action and the mechanic gets a move or standard, but cannot use that to give the drone an extra action, so I am acting based on that.

Kait'lax sends M4R-W37 towards the Jinsul while they look for ways to cause mischief to their ships while staying out of the line of fire.

"Stay on Red," Desha calls out, confirming Krara's call. As she runs up behind her vesk ally, she draws out a flare rifle and fires a flare at the targeted jinsul, lighting it up for her team.

Move and draw a weapon; standard to use harrying fire.

Not sure if a natural 1 also always misses on a harrying fire shot, but if not, then the next attack on Red also gets a +3 on the attack thanks to the tactical fusion on my rifle.

The other jinsul leap out of the polar vortex. The engineers land in places where they can get cover but the supervisor leaps towards the nearest PC on the ground. Being slowed, he can't attack but it's obvious that is his intent.

They actually only need to take damage for the first round they’re in the storm. That’s the balancing factor of the spell. After that first round it’s just there to create some difficult terrain and a flying hazard.

Spell description:
You generate an arctic storm of harsh winds and battering hail and snow. Creatures that enter or start their turn in the area during the first round of the spell take 3d6 cold damage plus 6d6 bludgeoning damage and are affected by freezing, hurricane-strength winds. For the duration of the spell, creatures flying in the area must succeed at an Acrobatics check to fly in dangerous wind conditions, and terrain within the spell’s area is covered with ice and snow, causing it to become difficult terrain.

Loath to let the targetted jinsul off the hook, but also faced with a challenge right in front of her, Krara is torn for a moment. But seeing the supervising jinsul moving sluggishly, the vesk follows Desha's direction: she loops around the nearby jinsul - careful to avoid reach of it's legs - and fires at the distracted and weak red one.

Desha, keep backing up! We can dance around that lazy spider all day!

Recognizing that the supervising jinsul is still under the effects of the slowing spell, Desha retreats behind Krara and summons a small mote of light to dance around the tinsel's head, distracting it and leaving it vulnerable to attack.

Move 30ft (shouldn't provoke since purple is slowed and therefore staggered); standard to cast Wisp Ally and put a wisp around purple, granting Harrying Fire (+2 on the next attack against purple)

Desha turns her focus full on the supervising jinsul. He attention is like a weight pressing down on the creature's mind, filling it with doubt and unease, which Desha then follows up with a searing thrust of her consciousness upon the jinsul's like a knife to the brain!

I will need two will saves from Purple, both are DC17! First one is against my Overbearing Stare (swift action). If the target fails, it takes a -1 to subsequent Will saves until I stare at a new target, the opponent moves more than 30 feet away from me, or either I or the opponent fall unconscious or dies. The second one is against Mind Thrust II (standard action), the damage for which is below. Save for half damage.
