It's only AC 5 to hit an object guys! Boarding school was for nothing! Though no one is watching to make sure you succeed on your grappling hook throws if you just want to get over another way or climb using someone else's rope. Other ways to cross are jumping (Acrobatics DC 15) and the planks mid ship (less direct/takes more movement to get to your objective).

Torgal remember you are fatigued
Jacques Lacrimoisi |
Jacques looks around briefly to see if any of the other sailors that are hostile to them are nearby, and frowns as he notices that the enemy is using crossbows, not pistols.
He takes Torgal's rope and ties it to his waist, as a safety back to the ship if he should fall. "Let us get to the other side quickly, before they can reload, oui?" he says, and begins to try and make his way across.

Torgal Cailean |
Torgal holds the rope tightly for Jacques before tying it to the railing of the Wormwood. ”Into th’ fray!” he bellows!
Acrobatics vs DC 15: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Hah! Is he still on the deck or in the drink? XD
Voice in the Maelstrom |
Rosanne just barely misses the target of her magical snowball. Literally needed 1 higher for touch AC. You still have a move action if you want to climb across in round 2.
Jacques quickly shimmies across the rope to the other ship and ties off Torgal's rope.
Torgal's grip on the rope slips and he falls into the water. fail by 5 or more = fall. shark on a 1: 1d3 ⇒ 3 not this round.

Rosanne and Torgal fall into the sea, sharks circle as Rosanne starts climbing out. shark attack: 1d3 ⇒ 3 no
Tobias calls out, warning the Captain of the sneaky sailor. The Captain turns around as the sailor is about to stab him and with one strike of the captain's blade he flops to the deck, dead. The Captain looks back at Tobias and nods in recognition before advancing through the doors to the captain's cabin.
