Jacques bristles as Fipps insults his friend, but is reluctant to act in front of the rest of the crew. However, later that night when things begin to wind down, Jacques whispers quietly to his friends that he can wait no longer. "I am going to eviscerate that cowardly and obsequious blackguard," he murmurs darkly. "Who is with me? If you follow behind me as I walk toward the officers' quarters, why then when Fipps catches me sneaking we can end him together and throw his body overboard. What do you say?"

I had meant to suggest we attack Fipps after dinner, when the officers have gone to their quarters and we are not supposed to sneak around the ship. I assume Fipps will catch Jacques, since Jacques isn't very stealthy, and then we can attack him.

After confirming the plan with his co-conspirators, Jacques casts two spells (heightened awareness and mage armor) and sneaks close to where he believes Jape will be. However, since the plan is for him to get the guard's attention to distract from the others, he isn't too worried about being quiet.

Jacques follows through on his plan and charges at Jape, attempting to skewer him with his rapier.

In the door to the crew quarters, Maheem appears. "What's this then? You'll all be keelhauled for this! They've killed Jape!" he shouts, surely waking more of the crew.

Checking that the others are with him, Jacques steps over Jape and rushes up the stairs to block the door. He spits in memory of the man's cowardly attack on him their second day on the ship, where he waylaid and punched Jacques, then lied to get him and his friends lashes.

Maheem looks a little shaken but doesn't seem like he'll just watch as you mutiny. You are quicker than him in climbing the stairs to the deck. "You'll all rot for this!" With only Tobias holding the stairs he decides to attack, drawing his own cutlass.

Aretta and Ratline also move towards him and you hear your allies Cogward and Kroop awake now and coming to help, challenging them to turn and face them. Only Maheem is still focused on Tobias.

Up on deck, Jacques, Torgal and Rosanne quickly cover the distance to the door of the officer's quarters, where Sandara and Rosie are also kept. You can hear movement on the other side.

Across the other side of the deck, Captain Plugg and Owlbear Hartshorne come through the door to the captain's quarters. "So, it be a mutiny I be hearing in my sleep. I will be pleased to be finally rid of you four."

Jacques taps on the armor of force that surrounds him for Rosanne's benefit, and decides to ignore Captain Plugg and his Owlbear for now and continue into the officers' quarters.

"I got yer protection right 'ere!" Torgal takes a long drink from his mug, then grins and waves at the "captain". "Oi, over here ya wine-sippin' lacy 'andkerchief! Figger'd ya'd need some help findin' yer way with yer 'ead tha' far up yer arse!" Wobbling a bit more than usual, the dwarf clangs his blade against his mug and laughs heartily.

Moving 20 ft back towards Tobias, swift action to use Fervor to cast shield of faith on himself, and standard action to cast bless (affecting everyone).


Tobias stabs forward at Maheem who staggers backwards clutching his chest, joining Jape in sitting out the fight. "I'm not dying for this..."

Protective spells are cast as Jacques throws open the doors to the officer's quarters, revealing Scourge, Conchobar and Fipps grabbing weapons. "Time we finally deal with you." Scourge threatens.

Sandara and Rosie are also awake with Fipps standing threateningly over them.

"You can't have this ship. I've come too far to lose her now." Captain Plugg says, then gestures for Owlbear to attack. "Get 'em dog." Owlbear thunders up to Torgal with his club ready.

Torgal swishes the dregs of his drink around before throwing them at the "captain's" lapdog's face. "Lucky Drunk, save me from dyin' o' laughter!" He pricks the prick's hand holding the club for good measure, trying to startle the man into dropping it.

5 ft step north, swift action to use Fervor to cast divine favor, and "full-round attack" to Dirty Trick and Disarm Owlbear. I'm really hoping that the Dirty Trick succeeds and thus lowers the CMD for the Disarm to <20 so Torgal doesn't have to drop his rapier due to that Nat 1. Even if the Dirty Trick fails, hopefully he's set up a good flank for Tobias. XD

Tobias swiftly moves up towards Plugg and his swing is casually knocked aside. "Hahah, you're going to have to try harder than that boy." He draws his cutlass and cat-o-nine-tails.

Owlbear is blinded by but not disarmed by Torgal. He swings wildly where he thinks Torgal is but is unable to hit him. not the smartest honestly

Yeesh, I did NOT want to back up and give Scourge room to use his whip!

Jacques sees the whip coming toward him and quickly steps aside. He spends 1 grit point as an immediate action, which lets him sidestep Scourge's attack and move one square north (Gunslinger's Dodge). It looks like even with +2 AC and cover from the wall the trip attack will still succeed, but at least he will have cover from Fipps too, so he can stand up without taking an attack of opportunity.

After Fipps moves up, Jacques climbs back to his feet and stabs at the odious man from around the other side of the wall with real feeling. "Your end-time, it has come," he taunts in his deep, accented voice.

Foregoing what little subtlety he had in the first place, Torgal smashes his tankard into the brute's hand before following up with a jab of his rapier. Glancing over at Tobias, he shakes his head. Kid's gonna get himself killed... Carefully he continues to step around Owlbear - though whether this is to keep his balance or to avoid any counterstrikes is really up for debate.

Attack and move 20 ft (4 squares east, 1 square south). Don't want to get up in Plugg's face because then he'll be able to make that full-attack against Torgal as well - better to make him have to walk to Torgal and only be able to hit once. On the "bright" side, isn't the cat-o-nine-tails a Nonlethal weapon? That would mean Tobias is stable and might come back with even more health than expected should someone channel energy.


Jacques sidesteps the whip and gets up close with Scourge, unfortunately not able to hit him yet.

Conchobar and Fipps seem to have tapped out of the fight as they just hold their wounds so Rosie join the fight with Scourge, flanking him while Sandara starts casting a spell. Spellcraft DC 17: She casts summon monster II

Which way are you stepping Torgal?
Torgal blinds Plugg with his drink but is unsuccessful in disarming any of his weapons. Rosanne uses this advantage to move up to the Captain and scratch him. Captain Plugg wipes the drink stinging his eyes so he can see again and swings his cutlass at Torgal, cutting deep.
