Torgal belches loudly in Plugg's face. "'Ere, some spirits fer ya since ya ain't got any o' yer own!" Insult is followed by more ale to the face and another jab at the hand holding the cutlass.

Using last of the fervor to cast cure light wounds as a swift action, then rinse and repeat - get that cutlass out of his hands and he becomes less dangerous, and denying him his Dex to CMD (and potentially adding the +2 for attacking "while invisible") puts the odds more in our favor.

Torgal has a nonmagical Tankard, so I am disallowing the repetitive tossing ale in the face to blind unless you have a way to refill it easily?
Torgal and Rosanne surround the Captain, who now has no allies left to assist him. Torgal forces Plugg to drop his cutlass and Rosanne stabs him from behind.

Plugg growls at Torgal then shoves him, attempting to push him backwards and over the rails and off the ship before picking his cutlass back up. Provokes AoO in melee

After Scourge falls, and after giving Fipps a dirty look full of his dislike, Jacques instead moves toward the remaining enemy. As he goes, he draws his loaded pistol and fires it at the soon-to-be-former captain.

Yep, that’s very fair on the refilling. There’s a specific magic item (that’s a favorite of Caiden, go figure XD) that refills itself, so I’ll just have to be on the hunt for one of them.

Torgal is too distraught over his ale running out to take effective action when Plugg stoops to pick up his cutlass. No words can express his sorrow, so the dwarf aims his blade at the hand holding the blade again and his tankard at the scoundrel’s family jewels.

Sandara's elemental moves up and gets one attack on Plugg before it starts to collapse and return to its home plane.

Jacques curses at the ineffective pistol and continues his approach to Plugg, rapier still in his other hand. He stabs at the former captain, enjoying the way the odds have turned against him.

Jacques's tone leaves no mistake about his own feelings as he stabs at Plugg again. He circles with the others.

As the assault continues, Plugg is able to keep your attacks at bay but it is clear that he is quite wounded. But desparate, he fights to the last, cursing the worthless crew that doesn't have his back. Torgal's rapier slips through his defense stabbing his thigh.

"You just got knocked down and you jump back in? Are you crazy..." Sandara keeps behind Tobias and sacrifices another spell to heal him again.

Ignoring Sandara's sensible advice, Tobias coldly thrusts his rapier into Mr. Plugg's chest.

While Plugg is focused on Torgal, he doesn't see the attacks from Rosanne and Tobias in time. They beat his defenses and one stab after the other finally is too much for the seasoned pirate. "I curse you all. This ship and crew. May the coming storm destroy you." These are his last words before collapsing from his wounds.

Plugg and Scourge both lay dying. The wounded Fipps and Conchobar are near Scourge. Below deck you can still hear some commotion going on.

Combat for you is over for the moment.

Torgal spits over the railing. “Ya couldn’t come up wit’ anythin’ more original?” he grumbles as he sheathes his blade. “Cayden Cailean’s britches, at least let them see th’ light o’ day t’morrow so we can put ‘em off on dry land.”

Casting stabilize on all the undeserving blagarts. We can tie them up and shut them in a bunk for the night while we handle this storm. And hey! Maybe we’ll finally get to roll those Profession (sailor) checks we’ve been wanting for so long! XD

Jacques shakes his head. "I cannot allow this so-called 'Captain Plugg' or his cruel lackey Scourge to live after what they did to us. A man is entitled to vengeance, is he not? If we did not need every possible hand to deal with the storm, I would also kill Fipps and Conchobar. Please, do not tell me after all we have been through that we are opposed to each other on this? I have promised myself that I will keep their bones as a talisman of the ordeals we have overcome."

Rosanne is very happy at the moment, she nods when Jacques speaks up. "Agreed Plugg and Scourge need to die. Too much bad blood with them for most of us!"

Rosanne has no problems with the others being kept alive though.


Torgal takes time to stabilise Mr. Plugg and Master Scourge.

Fipps and Conchobar offer no resistance and simply hold their wounds. "I was just doing the duty of all buccaneers and standing beside the captain. If there's a new captain, I'll gladly pledge my allegiance." Conchobar pleads while Fipps just looks sullen.

Rain is starting to fall slowly. You still have no idea what is going on below deck.

The dwarf scowls as Jacques stabs the ex-captain and ex-first mate, but doesn’t try to stop him. “May th’ Drunken ‘Ero ‘elp ‘em find th’ way home at th’ end o’ th’ night,” he mutters under his breath. “An’ me too while yer at it.” Carefully he strips the corpses of their belongings, then tips them over the edge of the raining into the dark water below.

Plugg and Scourge meet their final end at the dagger of Jacques with Fipps and Conchobar looking on warily.

Down below you find a struggle still going on. Jape hasn't moved from where you left him but Aretta is still jostling with Cogward, both looking hurt as well as Ratline standing threateningly over a wounded Ambrose Kroop and Maheem also stalking towards him.

Torgal snorts awake, realizing after a few seconds that he must have passed out. Dreaming on the job? Cayden's Boots, the ale can't be that strong - can it? He staggers to his feet and glances around, spotting Jacques tending to Scourge and Rosanne heading downstairs towards the sound of Tobias' youthful voice - and the dark sky overhead. "What're they all doin'? Don't they know we got a ship t' sail?" Slowly he descends the stairs as well, one step at a time. Slowly he looks up at the restless crowd. Slowly he grins.

"Right, there's a storm t' outsail 'n' good drink t' be 'ad. We're all free people now, but freedom don't mean much in th' belly o' a whale!" The dwarf hoists his mug unsteadily into the air. "Firs' drink's on me if'n we get outta 'ere 'n one piece!"

Rosanne tries to get everyone's attention by yelling loudly. "OI! Plugg and his bootlicking toady Scourge are dead! Settle down and you'll be let off at the next port. Keep fighting and you'll join them."

She stands ready to join in the combat.


Sandara picks up 'captain' Plugg's Cutlass and follows you down. She shows it when Rosanne speaks as proof.

The fighting stops and the allies of Plugg and Scourge look around for some sort of escape that isn't there. "When Harrigan hears you've killed his men he will come after you." Ratline says, but has stepped away from Kroop and dropped his weapon.

Kroop is able to stand up, nursing a slash to his ribs. "I don't think we be going anywhere near Harrigan now. Bless me, I hope we never see him again."

Jacques secures the officer's quarters and using his rapier he instructs Fipps and Conchobar to precede him back down below. He calls out to the crew in support of Toby's proclamation, "Anyone who does not do as our new captain says will surely regret it!"

Seeing that Plugg and Scourge are both dead, the rest fall in line to get back to work, though not without some dark looks. It is clear that there are sides on the ship that won't be dissolved just because of a change of leadership.

Disrepute and Infamy scores are increased by 2 for successfully mutinying and taking command of the Man’s Promise. These scores control your reputation in the shackles.

Having just enough crew remaining to man the ship, the Man's Promise tries to outrun the storm under the new management.

Tobias shouts over the increasing wind to his shipmates to help direct the boat out of the storm's rage.


With some skilled piloting to make even his mother proud, Tobias steers the Man's Promise away from the storm. An entire day of hard work in the rigging for the small crew (job rolls no longer required) gives hope of possibly surviving this storm also. Unfortunately nature is not so easily defeated and the low amount of crew hinders the ship's performance.

The storm hits the Man’s Promise in the early hours of the next day. The wind blows with incredible force, driving the Man’s Promise far off course. The ship is tossed about on the high seas, many of the sailors despairing or praying to Besmara.

The strong winds reduce visibility to almost nothing and it is only with extreme luck that Tobias notices some strange shadows in the rain come aboard. As they get closer, the shadows resolve into something that looks like the top half of a goblin and the bottom half of a squid. An aberration from the depths come for an easy meal in the raging storm. The rest of the crew do not see and are not near, busy with working the ship.

Jacques:

You know of these creatures as Grindylows. These aberrations are violent, ravenous creatures that use their spears to hunt or just to poke at things that scream and cry. They have been known to wipe out whole tribes of merfolk and overwhelm entire galleons full of experienced sailors in large numbers.

They have darkvision and are able to use their tentacles very effectively to trip opponents. They are not particularly strong and rely on numbers to take down their quarry.

The way the storm shook the ship made it difficult to attack these strange monsters. Torgal did manage to stab one of them. It shrieked and relatiated, trying to trip him again and stabbing with their spears.
