Vacuum:
Vacuum
The void of space is effectively empty of matter, and this vacuum is perhaps the greatest danger of outer space. A creature introduced to a vacuum immediately begins to suffocate (see Suffocation and Drowning on page 404) and takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage per round (no saving throw). Because a vacuum has no effective temperature, the void of outer space presents no dangers from cold temperatures. A creature retains its body heat for several hours in a vacuum. Sound doesn’t travel in a vacuum.
Decompression occurs when a creature suddenly transitions from a pressurized environment to a vacuum, such as by being flung out of an airlock or being inside a sealed structure that becomes heavily damaged. Such a creature takes 3d6 bludgeoning damage (no saving throw) in addition to any suffocation damage.

Zero Gravity:
Movement in zero gravity (also referred to as zero-g) is not the same as flight. Controlled movement is difficult without some form of propulsion, and creatures without something to push off from often find themselves floating aimlessly. A creature in a zero-gravity environment can’t take move actions to move its speed, crawl, or take a guarded step. If a creature is adjacent to or in the same square as an object (including a wall, floor, or ceiling) or another creature one size category smaller than itself or larger, it can take a move action to push off that object or creature, moving at half its land speed in a direction of its choosing (as appropriate); if that object or creature is movable, it begins moving in the opposite direction at that same speed.
Moving in Zero-G: A creature that moves in a given direction continues to move in that direction at the same speed at the beginning of its turn each round (without taking any action); it must move the full distance unless it is able to change its motion by latching on to an object or creature, pushing off in a new direction, or creating thrust of some kind (all of which are considered move actions). If a creature runs into a solid object during its movement, it must succeed at a DC 20 Acrobatics or Athletics check to safely stop its movement; failure means that creature gains the off-kilter condition (see page 276). If a creature runs into another creature during its movement, both creatures must each attempt a DC 20 Acrobatics or Athletics check to avoid gaining the off-kilter condition. A creature anchored to a solid object (such as by the boot clamps available with most armor) receives a +4 bonus to this check. An off-kilter creature in a zerogravity environment can steady itself as a move action that requires a surface to grab on to or some method of propulsion; alternatively, that creature can throw a single item weighing at least 4 bulk (for Medium creatures; 2 bulk for Small creatures) to reorient itself and remove the offkilter condition.
If provided with sufficient handholds, a creature with a climb speed can move along a wall at full speed, as can any creature that succeeds at a DC 20 Acrobatics or Athletics check. Creatures that fly via methods that require an atmosphere, such as wings or turbofans, can’t use their fly speeds in a vacuum; once they reenter an atmosphere, they can recover and get their bearings within 1d4 rounds, after which they can fly normally. Magical flight and methods of flight that provide their own thrust, such as jump jets (see page 206), are not affected. A character in a zero-gravity environment can lift and carry 10 times her normal amount.
Weapons: Thrown weapons have their range increments multiplied by 10 in zero-g. In addition, all ranged weapons no longer have a maximum number of range increments—their wielders simply continue to accrue penalties the farther away the target is.

"Okay, folks," Gab says over the comms, "Keep moving toward the exit." He hurls his grenade toward the ground among the group of diplomats.

He hurls the smoke grenade at the ground. Seeing the flames all over the place, he makes his way toward the exist, pulling his fire extinguisher out of his starfinder backpack. "If you get some of those flames on ya, just keep moving ... I've got ya covered."

I added a box in an effort to show my smoke grenade area, but can't get it ordered right so we can move our tokens. Feel free to replace it if needed.

I will trigger a concealed AoO from the silver commander. But I feel like I need to be in position to clear that fire out next turn. *wince*

Honorbound Emissaries

Got the map reordered for ya, Gab! Thanks for putting down the box for the smoke effect.

Gab lays down some cover for Speaks Forgotten Words and the group of survivors, then orders them to head for the tip of the wing so they're ready to move across as soon as Joyozalva is able to bring the Honorbound around to pick them up.

As Gab darts through the fog, the silver commander lashes out with its horrible mandibles!

Bite: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27 Damage (P): 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (3, 4) + 12 = 19 Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 50 Miss!

While the group prepares to move, however, the fight rages on. The cyan and purple guards both move out of or away from Gab's smoke and cast spells upon themselves to better arm up for the fight.

Speaks Forgotten Words directs his group to move toward the wing, but some of the less courageous among them flinch back at the flames before them. Gab hears SFW speak into his mind, "We will move as soon as we can get past these flames. Please do what you can about these jinsuls until then!"

----------------------

Top of Round 2

The silver commander suffers from the bleeding wound Magnus had inflicted, then retaliates by forming his solar weapon and striking back at the rival solarian. As it attacks, the flames from its blazing orbit gutter out and die.

Bleed damage on Silver: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Solar weapon: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37 Damage (F): 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (8, 8) + 12 = 28 Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 82 Hit for 28 damage. I don't recall if you had Fire resistance, so please correct me if you do.

The red guard chitters out in jinsul to its comrade, then takes further cover behind the smoke and cast more spells upon itself. The pink guard also moves and further augments its fighting abilities with magic.

Not that I want to take the damage, but I believe the smoke grenade provides only concealment, not total concealment, so it's a 20% miss change. I think that AoO hit me.

The attack roll was only a 27 vs your KAC. Unless your header is incorrect, that would not meet your KAC of 30.

Kultainen inspires Magnus to keep fighting and focuses her team's effort on the silver commander. Selene follows her android comrade's lead, but the jinsul commander's armor proves too durable for the show to penetrate.

The gold commander moves into position on Selene and slashes out with the solar weapon it forms from the residual light and heat of the universe.

Heh, no, that's right. I just recently upgraded armor and am still unused to it being this good. ;)

"Okay, I'm no Solarian scholar or anything, but I bet these commanders are about to blow ... Be great if anybody has a way to send 'em flyin'. I'll disorient the silver crab ... If you guys can run past him, he probably won't be able to attack you. These Jinsuls won't get the best of us!"

Then, being completely useless at any sort of bull rush, Gab gab provides some fire to disorient the silver commander.

Swift Action: United Society boon (below). Standard Action: Clever Attack. Move action: Stepping to the side, to give Speaks and his group some room to get by if they need to.
United Society boon
Once per adventure, when this boon is slotted, as a swift action you can make a passionate speech, state a simple reminder, bring up a stirring bit of digital data, or any other kind of inspirational element to remind you and your fellow Starfinders what you’re fighting for. When you use this ability, every ally within 60 feet can choose one of the following:
• Gain a +2 morale bonus on all attack and damage rolls until the beginning of your next turn.
• Regain a number of Stamina Points equal to their level.
• Remove a single condition as per remove condition.

For the purposes of above, I'm assuming that "every ally" does not include me

Honorbound Emissaries

Gab and Magnus continue to work on Silver. Gab feints the commander, leaving it flat on its many feet and providing Magnus an opening that the solarian seizes. Two powerful swings of Magnus's solar axe later, the Silver commander is dead and drifting off into the void of space, the solar flames that had formed its weapon guttering out pathetically.

The purple and cyan crusaders, enraged at the defeat of their commander, move into position to support the remaining commander and fire their suped up at Selene.

Gab dives between the jinsul's many legs, trying to get to the other side before he attacks, so he'll be within the cover of the smoke.

Acrobatics, Tumble through commander's space: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (4) + 23 = 27
Probably not a success, so would provoke ... except that he's flat-footed until the end of my turn, so no reactions

Or at least he tries to, but can't make his way through. Still, he slashes out with his tailblade.

Tailblade, full attack, get 'em vs. gold's flat-footed KAC: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 12 + 1 - 4 = 14
Concealment: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Tailblade damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 slashing

Tailblade, full attack, get-em vs. gold's flat-footed KAC: 1d20 + 12 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 1 - 4 = 19
Concealment: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Tailblade damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 slashing

Unfortunately, he's really off his game and misses with both attacks.

Honorbound Emissaries

Magnus protects himself from the fiery energy radiating off of the radiant commander, then slashes at his enemy. Gab tries and fails to move past the commander, but makes up for it with a slight stab at gold.

Second attack actually hits since Gold is flat-footed!

Cyan and Purple continue firing on Magnus, trying to support their commander.

Just as their shots ring out, there is a blur of metal and afterburner glow as the Honorbound eases up beside Kreiholm's Hope. A ladder extends from the wing edge of the vesk salvage ship toward the drifting Hope, and your comms crackle to life again with the voice of Captain Yuluzak coming over in hurried command. "Alright, Starfinders! Time to load up and ship out!"

Speaks Forgotten Words gets the idea and moves across the extended ladder with the rest of the survivors.

Looking over toward the hull of the Honorbound, you also spot two large and intimidating weapons mounted on the hull.

Superior Firepower: Two antipersonnel weapons are mounted to the exterior hatch of Honorbound: the Diplomat (medium machine gun in the yellow box) and the Negotiator (salamander-class flamethrower in the orange square both double its standard range). A PC adjacent to one of these weapons can direct its fire and attack with the weapon on her action using her ranged attack modifier.

The suit Kultanien wears seems to be enjoying itself as the thermal capacitors within dump the trapped heat from the jinsul's explosion and mostly cancels out the bitter cold of the other jinsul's shots.

She hurries across to the Diplomat and prepares to be Diplomatic.

"Speaks Fogotten Words.. Could you move clear of the Flamethrower please?" she calls out over the suit coms.

Gab feints then takes a parting shot at Gold, which misses the mark. Magnus, on the other hand, stands his ground and ends the commander!

The next few moments flow by quickly, but are legendary in the Starfinder archives. Gab and Kultainen, standing at the Diplomat and the Negotiator, blast away at the remaining pursing jinsuls, while Magnus and Selene drift across from the Kreiholm’s Hope to the Honorbound. Once they make it onboard the Honorbound’s outer hull, the Veskarium salvage ship breaks off. It moves away at a slow enough speed to not rip apart any of those standing atop the hull, but swiftly enough that the jinsuls can’t jump to follow. Yuluzak has the ship slowly ease away long enough for everyone to get inside the Honorbound before the ship picks up speed.

As you board the bridge, you find Yuluzak cheering as the Honorbound’s gunners deal a final blow to the last pursuing jinsul ship. All around, the tide of battle seems to be turning, with the majority of jinsul ships blown to smithereens by the battle-scarred Freehold Armada. Speaks Forgotten Words eagerly wishes to converse with you and the Veskarium captain.

The council member speaks at length with you, and eagerly learns of your actions in the battle up this this point. Your actions leading up to this point affect Speaks Forgotten Words’ opinion of you, and the Starfinder Society by association. Because you prioritized saving lives over technology in the hospital and took time to render medical aid and interact with the survivors, Speaks Forgotten Words extends an invitation to meet with the Kreiholm Freehold’s governing council. This invitation takes the form of a tiny, egg-shaped chunk of polished sapphire with an appearance similar to the artifact recovered from Ardent Seeker, and it functions as a datapad.

Once Speaks Forgotten Words is safely dropped off on another Kreiholm command ship, Yuluzak returns you to Absalom Station to report back. The party meets with Luwazi in the same conference room they used at the start of the adventure, where the nominated First Seeker listens with growing concern as you recount their mission. Iteration-177 is conspicuously absent from this debriefing, and Luwazi begins her statements by remarking on this. Luwazi questions you about the Kreiholm Freehold’s inhabitants and asks if you had a chance to meet with any leaders. When you present her with Speaks Forgotten Words’ invitation, she grins and exclaims “Starfinders, you soared above and beyond my expectations. This invitation could be the start of a bright new era for the Society. I’m certain that today you’ve made history. I’m so very proud of you.”

MISSION SUCCESS! CONGRATULATIONS!

As she shares the icecream, Kultanien mentions a strange dream she had.
"I know, some androids don't dream at all apparently. But I do. And I had such an odd dream. There was a sun, glowing brilliantly. And heat... I thought it was going to supernova, but then there was a darkness within it. And fast as it grew, the darkness within grew faster. Tentrils of fire leapt from the fringes, and they seemed to reach out, forming into long thin knives."

She shakes her head. "Mostly my dreams are much more pleasant than that."
