Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"Khayud, local wildlife," Jahn groans. "Let's hope they're just obnoxious and not hungry, like a supenga or a swarm of spookfish."
Nuri Zahgev
As the forest erupts with noise, Nuri readies both Imperial Pacification Rifles. Dropping to a crouch she turns to the sounds and prepares for further violence.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Ivris-mu raises its gaze to the canopy and attempts to identify the creatures or at the very least assess their threat level.
[dice=Perception]1d20+5
To identify the creatures, you need to do a life science roll. However, you can perceive howling monkeys, thats for sure.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
There is something distinct about the noise to your perception. They sound like baboons. The noise suddenly stops. And everything is quiet. Too quiet.

Life Science: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Jahn sucks air in through his teeth.
"Not good. Usually when animals do THAT it's a territorial declaration. Either we need to answer back just as loudly in order to get them to back off, or they're going to try and attack to drive US away."

"These are probably hobgars, by the way. Read about them in the info-packet on Nakondis while we were Drifting here. More on the obnoxious than aggressive side."
Any specific information Jahn might have about them with that roll, GM?

"We should probably be careful moving forward. Hobgars aren't aggressive, but fearless if provoked. Nothing short of a warning shot is going to scare them off, but even then that may just set them off. Hopefully they'll just try to steal shiny things from us, throw s*** at us from the trees or something like that," Jahn explains.
Nuri Zahgev
Nuri stands and steps back to the path. "Then we'd best get out of their territory as quickly as possible. Cedona's waiting for us and we don't know what the situation is in Maledon's Landing."
Jahn Soter

"It's a good thing this secondhand secondskin's got a helmet with a faceplate. If they DO start throwing s*** at us, I won't get any in my mouth," Jahn mutters.
Ivris-mu
Ivris-mu isn’t trained in Life Science. :-(
”I appreciate your knowledge Anton,” Ivris-mu says lowering its gaze from the creatures. ”Hobgars. Good to know.”
Once they reach the dirt road, it pauses. ”Is anyone proficient in stealth? Once we reach the settlement, that person should lead.”
Nuri Zahgev
Tapping her unyielding armor Nuri looks ruefully at the android. "Unfortunately my training has been more about conflict and ships than covert activities. And this, while protective, does not help."
Ivris-mu
”Very well, I will lead,” ivris-mu says. ”Due to the mist we should stay closer together than we normally would if attempting to be stealthy.” It ensures the pistol has full ammunition then starts walking towards the colony.
Is Stealth a secret check? If not...here’s a roll.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
*Sigh*

Nuri gestures for Nym and Jahn to follow their captain and falls in behind them, her two borrowed rifles spread covering both sides of the path.

Jahn grimaces as he hears the rustling in the forest.
"Dammit..." he says quietly. Thinking a bit, he rummages around in his pack and removes the pemmican he'd been eating earlier. "Maybe this'll distract them long enough to get some distance between us."
"HEY! HOBGARS! YOU WANT SOMETHING TO MUNCH ON?! TAKE THIS!"
He hurls the pemmican into the woods away from the group.
Ivris-mu
Perception vs dc 24: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Ivris-mu watches Jahn’s actions with surprise. ”Well done, Jahn,” it says. ”A constructive means for de-escalation. I hope that it works.” The android attempts to ascertain the hobgars will go along with Jahn’s plans. It gets its pistol ready, if they are attacked.

"Great, now let's get moving...I doubt that'll last long, and I don't want them coming after us looking for seconds!" Jahn says. "Lead the way, Cap."
Nuri Zahgev
Once the group is once again moving, Nuri nods to Jahn. "Quick thinking, well done."
Not sure I woulda thought of it.
Nuri Zahgev
With both Pacification rifles aimed at the Azlanti soldiers, Nuri calls out, "Invaders, stay where you are and place your weapons on the ground! We do not wish to harm you."

"Bold words for a pack of glorified Star Scouts with no cookies to back them up," Jahn says as he opens fire.
Imperial Pacification Rifle: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d8 ⇒ 6

Nuri grins behind the facemask of her helm. "So be it." And, with a moment to aim, she fires at the invaders.
Rifle Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Ivris-mu
Ivris-mu is about to introduce itself when the group is attacked again. It says, ”Find cover Fulson in the trees.” The android moves towards the nearest trees as well. Once behind a tree it fires its pistol at the wounded cadet.
Move action: move 30’ (or less depending on where cover is)
Standard action: ranged attack
Ranged attack, semi-auto pistol: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

That was a miss.

Feeling her armor disburse the impact of the shot, Nuri watches as Jahn is hit and hit hard. She turns back to the invaders and steps toward them firing again. "Hey! Eyes over here, I'm more dangerous than he is."

Hit.
Jahn gives out an angered cry as he's hit and returns fire.

Miss.
Ivris-mu
Ivris-mu moves to another tree close by. ”Crew!” it calls out. ”I will demonstrate why I won the trick marksmanship medal on Avardu-3.”
Move action: Ten or fifteen feet...trying to get the enemies in crossfire.
Standard action: Clever Feint (bluff check)
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Regardless of the dice roll, I think I should have chosen a different envoy improvisation for Ivris-mu.

The feint works, and you get the two invaders in crossfire.
--Although you might have a chance to rectify that with the level up coming soon.

Nuri grunts as one invader’s shot goes wide, but the other finds its mark. Well, I’ve got their attention. She returns fire while moving to the opposite side of the road from Jahn and Jellik.

You managed to wound one of them, and they retreat a little. Trying to lay down cover fire.
