Ivris-mu reads the battle’s progress on the display screen. ”We are nearly finished with these drones. One more. Destroy it Jahn, and you will get a 30 credit bonus.”
Turning the ship to face the now single target, Nuri also does her best to avoid it's fire. "Well, not with that shot, but you'll get it with the next one."
Trying to close the distance and get at a better shot with the lasers, Nuri nudges the engines for a little more speed. "Better luck next time then."

”Nym, please return to the science station. Try to contact the colony,” Ivris-mu says. ”Jahn, please operate the gyrolaser. I am sure it is easier to hit the target with lasers. You can do this.”
"Transferring power to the turrets."

”Continue to keep the drone in an appropriate arc for weapons fire, Nuri,” Ivris-mu says turning its attention to the pilot. ”Your proficiency has been noted. In the future you may use me as a reference for securing occupational postings.”
Nuri's piloting phase is up.
With a glance at the captain, Nuri does as ordered. ”Yes cap’n” It’s a turret, range is more important.
The drone attacks with it's laser blast.

”Excellent piloting Nuri,” Ivris-mu says as the drone’s attack misses. ”Jahn, fire when ready.”
”Jahn I know the drones are small targets,” Ivris-mu begins, ”however, if financial penalties are not incentive for you, I will find whatever negative encouragement you need to finish this battle. You may need to acquire a lawyer if I find misrepresentation of your skills and proficiencies on your application for this venture.”
Plexel continues juicing the weapons system. She looks concerned at the Captain's tone and treatment of their passenger, but holds her tongue.

"There's nothing on the form for 'worst bloody luck in the entire bloody galaxy,' or 'seemingly cursed by the gods,' Captain!" Jahn snaps back as he tries to shoot.
The drone gets under the ship, and fires.

Continuing to attempt to dodge the drones fire Nuri blurts out. ”Jahn, wanna trade? I’ve got good aim, and all you’d need to do is hold the ship steady.”
The sheilds soak up most of the impact of the blast, and Plex flicks through her terminal interface to start flooding them with power.
”That is an excellent offer, Yuri,” Ivris-mu says. It looks at the tactical display and nods its head. ”This is your last chance Jahn. Make this shot count or face the shame and indignity of being replaced.”
You managed to make the drone loose it's orbital path and it falls prey to the planet's gravity. It burns up as it enters the atmosphere.
Nuri watches the fiery remains of the drone fall into Nakondis‘ atmosphere. ”Nice one Jahn.” Bringing the Golden Breeze back to a calm trajectory she looks to Ivris-mu. ”Let’s see if we can raise Maledon’s Landing for approach vectors.”
”Thank you all for your dedicated efforts,” Ivris-mu says. ”Overall, we survived, and that is the main goal. No one will suffer any financial penalties. I apologize if I hurt anyone’s feelings. We are all capable, but also fallible. Please contact the colony for landing directions.”
It types an after-incident report; noting that in the future, drills in the Drift while en route to their destination, would be a good use of crew time.
You get no hailings from Madelon's Landing.
"Not a good sign at all," Nym replies as he settles himself back in the sciences station. "Breeze, angle the sensor array, let's see what we can find out about what's going on down on the colony."
"PleasedontbeAzlanti, PleasedontbeAzlanti, PleasedontbeAzlanti, PleasedontbeAzlanti, PleasedontbeAzlanti," he says to no one in particular.
The computer returns a layout of Madelon's Landing. In the middle is an Azlanti station.
Bringing the Breeze closer to Nakondis-3 and Maledon’s Landing Nuri looks back at the dark-elf. ”We’re supposed to be at peace with the Azlanti. If this was an attack on one of our colonies it could be the start of a war. I’m not real thrilled about that option. It makes one hope that this was a rogue attack and not a sanctioned action.”
We don’t need a war, but a couple big space battles could be fun. Zipping through fire and debris.
An odd look crosses her eyes for a moment, almost as if she were smiling under her face-mask, as her head bobs side to side and the hands not on the controls make steering motions.

Nym says the same curse word.
You find that there are three spots to land, each a mile from Madelon's Landing.
”They most likely know about our presence due to the drones,” Ivris-mu says. ”Circle out wide and then come in low to land at one of those spots, Nuri. The rest of the crew please arm yourselves if you already have not. Also get rations and emergency supplies in case we get separated from the ship.”
It rises from the captain’s chair and heads to its quarters. It prepares its weapons and backpack. It looks at its clothes and laughs. They are well suited for an office environment, not for contending with the elements. Better than nothing, it thinks.
Ivris-mu returns to the bridge. ”Next accounts survey, I must bring a suit of clothes for trekking through the wilderness.” It now wore the more casual clothes it had worn during the trip, rather than the “office-attire” it selected today.
It's possible for the AI to auto-pilot the ship. Yea.
Attempting to avoid further notice from the Azlanti station, Nuri pilots a circuitous landing approach. Once safely on the ground she makes a quick stop at her quarters to grab her pack and make sure her pistols are in their holsters and her knives are in their sheathes before joining the others at the airlock.

Jahn assembles the rest of his gear, which wasn't that much, and munches on his pemmican a bit as they land.
"Don't worry about me. I'm used to living on the cheap...Had to while I was raising my cousin."
As they exit onto Nakondis, he breathes in and crouches touching the ground.
"Can you feel it? The ground trembles."
The ground doesn't SEEM to be trembling.
”I confess I do not feel the ground vibrating,” Ivris-mu says as it descends from the ship. Its pistol is out as the android scans the area for any signs of trouble. It sets their location as a waypoint on its comm and studies the terrain shown on the map. ”Is anyone skilled in orienteering?”
