Well, now that that's over with...sheesh! Carlin says as she regains her composure after covering the room with acid.
Now...shall we? We still have to find our bashful maiden! She trudges through the water to the passageway on the other side of the room.

Dominic: 19/19
Maud: 11/11
Willard: 6/6 Mage Armor
Cevrik: 8/9 (Zombie Rot)
Mr. Dumplington: 15/15
Carlin: 10/12
The Pathfinders, led by Carlin, trudge through the water. They come to a T-intersection. There is a door to the north and a passageway into a large-ish room down south. Which way do you go?

![]() |

[b]This way...just as good as any other...[b/]north...so i assume that's left on the map...
Carlin takes a rock and scratches directions on the wall. She puts her ear to the door and tries to hear if anything moves beyond it

(I still have Mage Armor up as well if that matters)

Cevrik (on Dumpling) comes rushing up to inspect the door as well. "It is my sworn duty and honor to keep you safe, m'lady" he says, giving a bow from his position atop the bear dog.
He then turns his attention to the door to look for traps...or threats.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

GM Mauve |

As Carlin approaches the door, the water deepens. The water is about two feet deep as she reaches the door. The door itself is swollen with water and difficult to open. But looks flimsy and easily breakable.
*ribbit*
Carlin hears the distinct sound of croaks in the room. It's hard to tell, but she also hears the sound of water dripping.

![]() |

"No worries, m'lady, my noble steed and I can handle it," Cevrik says, trying to impress Carlin and trusting that ride skill to help them do any needed dodging

Maud attempts to assist the bear...
STR check: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 1 = 3
...but is embarrassingly useless.

GM Mauve |

Mr. Dumplington blasts into the door with his shoulder. *CRACK*. The door bursts open. Immediately Cevrik sees that the room is filled with water, probably as deep as the outside corridor. The chamber is in an advanced state of decay, with a gaping hole in the ceiling admitting a constant trickle of water. The three stone sarcophagi in the room are almost completely covered in a thick carpet of moss and fungus.
Water is 3 feet deep here. Medium creatures treat each square as difficult terrain. Small creatures (i.e. Cevrik) must use their Swim skill.
A reddish frog stands on one of the sarcophagi and ribbits at Cevrik. It looks hungry! He also sees ripples of two other creatures swimming below the water, but the water is too murky to make them out. Grey circles = ripples
Here is a great picture of the frogs attacking!

The red frog hops further down the sarcophogi and bites the bear dog. *ribbit*. Cevrik is quick to react and guides Mr. Dumplington away from the attack.
Suddenly, another creature bites at Mr. Dumplington's legs and tries to latch on. The dog yells out in pain but manages to kick the frog away! 6 points of damage
The last frog swims under the water and attempts to lash out it's tongue at Mr. Dumplington! But due to the murky water, it can't seem to aim.

I assume you meant the red frog and blue frog attacked dumplington? (not red frog twice?) Also I assume they are both visible, since they just attacked. I am not sure which frog anyone else is targeting, so...I guess I'll roll randomly? Generally though Maud would try to finish off whichever is more damaged.

Maud isn't sure exactly what's going on, only that Mr. Dumplington roared in pain. She rushes in and picks a target to punch!

unarmed strike damage (STR damage): 1d6 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 1 = 5

GM Mauve |

Yeah - red frog and blue frog attacked Mr. Dumplington, green frog missed. The blue frog and green frog are right underneath the surface. They're attacking underwater. But they can still be hit without any real penalties.
Remember, water is 3 feet deep in this room and difficult terrain. I believe that Maud would not be able to move up and attack. Let me know if that changes your plans, Maud. She would still be able to move in and attack the red/green frogs.
Willard moves up and Minnin attempts to identify the amphibians. The raven knows that these frogs like spending time in and around water! They also are found in a variety of colors, such as blue, green, and red.
Dominic then approaches. With a flick of his wrist, he whips the red frog right on the haunches. Though it's hungry, it looks like its regretting its decision to attack.
Carlin also moves in. Seeing the red frog attempting to nibble on her companions, she lobs so acid at it. The red frog is definitely regretting his decision to attack!
Then Maud glides in... well the water is tough to wade through, but she makes it up to the blue frog.

I'm going to work under the assumption that, at most, Dumpling would simply need to make a climb check to get on top of the sarcophagus, so I'm acting on that. If that's incorrect, let me know and I'll retcon it.
"Up, boy!" Cevrik calls, guiding Dumpling to climb onto the sarcaophagus.

Stuffed into the nest at the end of the chamber is the mostly devoured corpse of a human man. He has a very finely crafted ring made of gold and set with a single aquamarine. Tied to his belt is a pouch that contains 24 gp in coins (identical to those found on the corpse beside the Gray Lake).

Hey! This helps you swim, Cevrik, might help you if you fall off Mr. Dumplington in this watery tomb... Willard holds up the ring toward the halfling.

Cevrik looks as if he's perplexed for a moment as to whether Willard's comment was simply helpful or a short joke, but in the end, he accepts the ring with a, "Thank you."
I'm for heading south. Cevrik and Dumpling can be in the lead (and beside Maud once the passage opens up).

Yeah Maud doesn't mind being in the middle or front.
