Merlan fades into view as the magical veil fades. He shrugs and smirks at the Half-orc.

"Um, Peek-a-boo?"

The halfling's smile fades slightly, and he s l o w l y takes a half step behind Fiona's enlarged calf.

Only in doing this summary did I realize that I somehow gave Lani Xia's action as well as her own, in terms of the crossbow and the eagle. Apologies. I'll retroactively say Xia did that instead of healing herself.

Round 4 Summary

The half-orc casts a spell with no obvious effect, and the eagles strike Fiona a single, deep blow. Lani blasts the tiefling, her spell penetrating both defenses and flesh, and Fiona's weapon erases the Half-Orc's duplicate. Costin throws a hex, his magic weighing down the half-orc's mind and slowing his reactions. Sahar runs across the battlefield, closing the distance to engage while the Tiefling flies to the other side of the house, and out of sight. Xia throws a flask of acid, destroying one of the eagles and Kruss kills the other as Lysander finally puts out his burning arm. Merlan pokes out from behind Fiona's legs to fire a magic missile at the orc.

The half-orc smiles and splits into two again as he steps away from Sahar, getting inside Fiona's defenses and casually flicks his wrist in Merlan's direction, causing a 12-foot long spiny cat-like beast to appear -- the creature seems to be growling and howling in pain, and the sound immediately grates on all of you -- even as the beast attacks the small mage.

Lani readies herself, preparing to blast the Tiefling again the moment she appears... and is rewarded a moment later when she does.... but this time, the spell misses wide.

Lysander's healing magic erases Merlan's mental fog, while Kruss leaps at the half-orc. The cat's attack is unable to penetrate the man's defenses, but Kruss does tear down the duplicate.

Merlan takes a sharp intake of breath when Lysander's magic takes effect.

"Thenk Yew,..." The halfling says weakly as his eyes flick back and forth, taking in the overall predicament,...

"Thanks," Merlan mutters to Lysander once more, but in a stronger voice thanks to the healing kicking in.

"MY turn!" The halfling adds, and turns and steps sideways, guarding himself from an attack by Pokey McNasty.

Merlan steps between the enlarged Fiona's legs, taking advantage of the space between to aim his wand and send another arcane bolt into the half-orc. Then the wizard fades from view, and reappears a moment later on the other side of Fiona.

Round 5 Summary

The half-orc moves inside Fiona's reach and summons a quilly-nasty beast who's howl-chatters seem to tear at your sanity, even as its fangs tear into Merlan. Fiona spins her heavy weapon, striking the beast, while Xia vanishes from sight, trying to protect herself fro the summoned beast. Sahar rushes forward, closing the distance with the half-orc, bringing him in range of her scimitar. Contin hits the half-orc with a spell-card, slowing down his thoughts. The tiefling flies back over the roof, and Lani hurls another ball of ice, this one going wide, before the tiefling returns fire, her explosive arrow knocking Lani off her feet. Kruss rushes forward and tears away the Half-Orc's duplicate while Lysander heals Merlan, who steps away from the beast, before firing a magic missile and blinking even farther.

The half-orc's demeanour changes slightly and he steps back, away from Sahar, raising his bow. He says, almost apologetically, "Çok eğlenebilirdik," as he raises his bow and whispers something, causing the weapon to begin to glow an angry red as he fires at Sahar.

Fiona quickly turns, drawing a dagger to stab the quill-beat beside her, driving the weapon deep even as she cuts herself on the quills.

If the spinycat is a 'normal' summons, does it go away when the summoner is killed? (Some people say it stays until the magic fades, some say it is tied to caster. Rules don't actually say I don't think?)

Merlan has turned from smirking about the recently-cleaved-in-twain Half-Orc to realize that his fellow short companion is down.

The Halfling looks as if he is about to run, then turns and addresses the spiny-land-cat-thing.

"You. Go back where you came from. Now." Merlan says low and clearly. He once again raises his wand.

"Zapicus!"

Magic Missile wand: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Lysander seeing that and claw attacks will get his hands struck with the quills knows animalistically the folly of that endeavour. Thus he backs off but orders Kruss towards where the flying tiefling was.

A patch of hardened mud near the beast cracks and crumbles, as if someone had chipped away at it.

Round 6 Summary

The half-orc steps away from Kruss and Sahar, and calls upon his fell powers to empower his bow, but as he raises to fire, Fiona takes advantage of the gap in his defenses and cuts him down. The quill-beast lands a bite on Fiona before she can reset her own defenses. Fiona draws a dagger to counter-attack, avoiding having any quills breaking off in her skin. Sahar calls on the Dawnflower to heal Fiona, and Costin bounces an eldritch card off the monster, leaving a charred spot where the energy discharges. The tiefling quickly drinks something and fades from sight, and Merlan uses his wand to blast the beast, while Lysander and Kruss step back, looking for the invisible foe and avoiding the beast's quills. The mud prison holding Xia breaks, presumably meaning that the Oracle is free to move.
